What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

Page 2: Sofiats presentation for question 6

• Throughout this project, I have learnt different technologies that can be used during the process of production. When starting this media project, I was not only introduced to lots of new technologies which I would be using for my thriller project but I was also introduced and familiarized myself with a couple of interesting websites which I would usually not have come across with without the help of my teacher.

• The computers we had to use for our project are imac computers which I personally found very complicating in terms of how to use documents such as ; Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft word, and the documents that we had to use for our editing.

• Using an imac felt really different to the old computers that most students are used to but however, the positive thing about Imacs is that they provided us with special applications that thoroughly helped me and my partner to create our thriller successfully

• I will admit that Imac computers are very different to the normal computers but as I got to work on them more often as the week went on, I started to get better at using them and so therefore, apart from doing this media project, using an Imac computer would also be one of my new skill.

• On the imac, there were applications such as Livetype which enabled us to develop our thriller in terms of creating individual idents per group

• I was mostly in charge of designing our thrillers idents while my partner was working on final cut express and editing our film ensuring that it looked the

• Best it could• Final cut express helped us put our whole film together despite the fact that it proved very

difficult to use at first but with the help of our teacher a couple of times here and there, it was okay and got easier to use.

• Cameras were also used to put up some evidences of our work onto the blog. This included brainstorms of ideas, and also to make our animation.

• Unlike the problem we had with other technologies, the cameras were the easiest to use simply because we usually use them in our every day life .

• Cameras were quite an essential part of the making of our thriller. As it was previously mentioned, cameras were used to take still photos of each plot on our story boards in order to make an animation

• We didn’t only use our usual cameras but we was also given the opportunity to use out mobile phone cameras if we wished and then transferred it onto the imac using a usb cable

• Throughout the filming of our thriller, we used a tripod to ensure that our camera was steady and most importantly safe. The only time we took the camera off the tripod was when we wanted to make a certain scene a bit shaky or if we wanted to do a point of view shot.

We took the camera off the tripod at this stage in order to shake the

camera a bit, and make emphasize the fact that the girl is getting mugged and experiencing

something bad

The camera is separated from the tripod once again in order to get a

point of view shot

BLOGGERBlogger was used 24/7 in this project.

We had to update it each time in terms of our plans, what we did in lesson, and the time, venue, etc, of where we are shooting our thriller. This blogger basically helped me to

record my progress during the making of this thriller.

It has helped me show the examiner that I have learnt about cameras, how it used. Thriller genres, conventions of

a thriller, biography's about thriller directors, etc. Personally it hasn’t been very enjoyable tidying up the blog but other students might disagree and in fact feel that its thoroughly enjoyable because its like updating a Facebook

status

The websites used during the production of my thriller

Before shooting my thriller, I had to do an audience research in order to have an idea of what I wanted my thriller to actually look like. So therefore I designed a questionnaire on survey monkey.

I also used facebook in order to get some audience feedback.

Furthermore, I have also used Moby Gratis in other to get some musicFor our thriller and I have used Youtube to publish my finished piecesSuch as; idents, preliminary tasks, finished animatic etc.
