Heritage Project Safety Focus Value Adding Alternate Programme Sofitel Wentworth Lobby Lounge, NSW Sofitel Wentworht Lobby Lounge Project Deliverables: OVERVIEW SHAPE was appointed to refurbish the existing level two front of house lobby lounge, including 11 hotel room corridors. The lobby lounge involved new bar cladding, bevelled mirror and copper mullion wall cladding, new lighting and mechanical ventilation, new banquette seating and furniture, new carpet, new wall finishes, installation of full height curved etched glass screen and modification of the existing solid timber wall on the Sofitel reception side to cater for filmed glass installation and increasing lounge visibility to their clients. NO DISRUPTION The lobby lounge is located in the main front of house reception within a high occupancy and operational hotel. The project brief was to deliver the highest level of dining space for their clients, whilst attracting walking by personnel on Phillip Street into the lounge. SHAPE exceeded the client’s expectations in finish level and efficiency of delivering the project, all while minimising disruption to the daily business of the hotel. ON TIME SHAPE needed to handover the project on time and defect free to meet the client’s Christmas Eve grand opening. In order to meet the programme, it was vital that the delivery of joinery and loose furniture items occurred within the construction programme. SHAPE placed early orders, and a sample approval process was expedited with consultants via numerous workshop meetings at contract award, regular factory visits and weekly request of progress production photos.
