DIG SILENT PowerFactory INTEGRATED POWER SYSTEM ANALYSIS SOFTWARE DIgSILENT PowerFactory for Solar Power Applications DIgSILENT has set standards and trends in power system modelling, analysis and simulation for more than 25 years. The proven advantages of the PowerFactory software are its overall functional integration, its applicability to the modelling of generation, transmission, distribution and industrial grids and the analysis of the interactions of these grids. PowerFactory features all relevant modelling capabilities and functions for efficiently studying the grid integration of solar generation (PV systems, solar thermal, and storage). It combines classical distribution system study functions such as voltage drop/rise calculation, unbalanced network assessment, fault level calculation and protection selectivity analysis. PowerFactory also offers modern analysis tools featuring quasi-dynamic simulations, voltage plan optimisation as well as reliability analysis and power quality assessment. Key Features PV systems with integrated power calculation based on solar radiation (1- and 3-phase technology) Steady-state load flow calculations considering factors such as voltage-dependent reactive power capability limits and PV farm controllers Short-circuit calculation with the option to include dynamic voltage support according to k-factor settings of PV systems Medium- to long term quasi-dynamic simulation based on steady-state analysis accounting for variable PV generation Voltage profile optimisation for bi-directional power flows in systems with a high level of distributed PV generation, including optimal distribution transformer tap positions Dynamic time domain simulations (RMS, EMT) for the analysis of LVRT/HVRT capability and small signal stability analysis Highly-detailed dynamic models of PV systems, battery storage, HVDC, SVCs, STATCOMs, etc. Support of MATLAB/Simulink and C++ interfaces for the develop- ment of user-specific discrete and continuous PV system models Power quality and harmonic analysis, flicker assessment Generation adequacy assessment based on Monte Carlo analysis for determination of generation reliability indices and capacity credit studies For more information about DIgSILENT PowerFactory visit http://www.digsilent.de DIgSILENT GmbH, Germany · +49 7072 9168-0 · [email protected] · http://www.digsilent.de

Solar Power ApplicationsDIgSILENT has set standards and trends in power system modelling, analysis and simulation for more than 25 years. The proven advantages of the PowerFactory software are its overall functional integration, its applicability to the modelling of generation, transmission, distribution and industrial grids and the analysis of the interactions of these grids.

PowerFactory features all relevant modelling capabilities and functions for ef ciently studying the grid integration of solar generation (PV systems, solar thermal, and storage). It combines classical distribution system study functions such as voltage drop/rise calculation, unbalanced network assessment, fault level calculation and protection selectivity analysis. PowerFactory also offers modern analysis tools featuring quasi-dynamic simulations, voltage plan optimisation as well as reliability analysis and power quality assessment.
