Team Incubation: Staffing Solutions

SITUATION

As a result of rapid growth and new client acquisition, our client in the prepaid and payment solutions space faced a backlog of 200+

high priority software projects. Within a few months of tracking the number of projects vs the number of projects logged as new, the

client realized the need to create a new team chartered with eliminating the backlog. With no staff available to dedicate to this effort, the

client turned to SOLTECH as a trusted and experienced outsourcing partner.

SOLUTION

Leveraging its unique differentiator of having an in-house software solutions employee-based team, as well as its respected client

services/staffing division, SOLTECH was able to assemble a productive 12 person team of Java/J2EE Software Engineers and Quality

Assurance Analysts within 30 days. The secret to success was the ability to draw from SOLTECH’s pool of senior engineers already on

staff, and combine that leadership with newly recruited younger engineers, who were mentored on the job by the senior resources

already in place.

RESULT

After 12 months of in-house development with the guidance of SOLTECH senior resources and project managers, the entire team

cleared the slate of backlog projects. The client benefited from a short ramp up and minimal risk, and ultimately hired the complete team

already well-versed in their business requirements, systems architecture, and development practices.

Perm Placement: Staffing Solutions

AdvancEd is a non-profit, non-partisan organization – the largest community of education

professionals in the world. They utilize technology to conduct reviews of school systems in order to

ensure that learners reach their full potential and educators are equipped with the skills they need to

be successful.

SITUATION

AdvancED, a long-time SOLTECH client in the education non-profit space, previously utilized the

services of a high priced consultancy for their IT staffing needs. The CTO was not pleased with two

primary facets of the former relationship: their rates were very expensive, and culturally, the

consultants provided did not align well with their culture and values. The value for the cost was

imbalanced and they were seeking a better solution to their needs.

SOLUTION

SOLTECH helped AdvancED build a team of full time employees with a variety of skills in

development, quality assurance, network engineering, project management, and team leadership that

grew their technology staff from 5 to 30 members. AdvancED leveraged both direct hire and contract-

to-perm resource solutions.

RESULT

AdvancED was able to lower their resource costs and hire top performing, loyal employees who

embodied the values of their non-profit culture in the education community.

PowerSecure: Software Solutions

PowerSecure is a leading provider of utility and energy technologies to electric utilities and their industrial, institutional and commercial customers.

SITUATION

PowerSecure managed multiple data energy sites where real-time diagnostics and

status information are utilized. PowerSecure needed to centrally store and process the

data to make real-time analysis and alerting possible; they also needed to scale the

platform as the business grew tenfold.

SOLUTION

SOLTECH developed two solutions using the Agile methodology:

1. Developed a web interface which allowed monitoring team to view and control

all sites in real-time.

• Testing schedules were able to be formalized

• Generators could be controlled by the user interface to perform Load

Management, a process which draws power off the generator, reducing

cost for the site.

• Created a client-side interface using AngularJS with a NodeJS back-end

1. Created a system to consume and display the real-time data of each site

• The system utilizes a large amount of data communication which occurs

between SOLTECH’s written Lambdas and Kinesis

• Uploaded all data into MySQL Database hosted by Amazon Web Services

RESULT

PowerSecure is now able to monitor and control the data sent from the sites in real-time. This allows for alerts to be sent when issues arise as well as analyze the

data to continue improving their service. They increased their response time by 30% and reduced outage time by 10%.

Fusionetics: Software Solutions

Fusionetics is an internet-based health company which offers online health assessment and treatment plans. The company employs the expertise of sports and wellness professionals, including sports medicine doctors, physical therapists and professional athletes.

SITUATION

Fusionetics sought an enterprise platform to provide their customers with fully digital wellness and treatment plans. The solution needed to include the following:

1. Content management system for pictures and videos used for assessments

2. Scoring engine to create a treatment plan

3. Multi-tenant solution

4. Back-office reporting and CRM tool

Fusionetics also wanted a working prototype to assist in selling their solution to professional sports teams

SOLUTION

SOLTECH and Fusionetics designed wireframes, screen layouts, data structures, and process flows to assist in developing their Minimal Viable Product (MVP). SOLTECH assisted Fusionetics in developing their prototype by creating a pixel-perfect responsive website that was integrated into the existing user interface by utilizing Angular.

RESULT

Fusionetics was able to successfully build and launch their Sports Medicine platform with an accelerated schedule, while building a strong customer base before and shortly after product launch. Fusionetics’ customers include 18 professional teams and 20 collegiate teams who are actively using the product. Their sales continue to increase 20% each year.

CulturaLink: Software Solutions

CulturaLink partners with healthcare organizations to improve patient-centered care and create an effective, diverse workforce through services focused on diversity, inclusion and cultural competence. They provider best-in-class consulting along with comprehensive translation and interpretation in more than 200 language

SITUATION

They had a platform that was outdated and not competitive in the market space. They wanted to provide additional services to their platform so they can win market share. While they needed to accomplish this goal, they were attempting to become a SaaS company and needed to rely on new technology.

SOLUTION

Collaborated with trusted 3rd party vendors to customize and combine existing platforms to develop the base structure for their solution.

Re-imagined the customer experience and employee experience by updating the user interface using React, HTML, and CSS.

Utilized web technologies built using NodeJS and AWS service.

RESULTS

SOLTECH and CulturaLink collaborated to develop the base platform which integrates with all of their 3rd party vendors.

SOLTECH is CulturaLink’s primary technology partner and we are now developing a mobile solution for them.

LG Electronics: Software Solutions

LG Electronics (LGE) is a leading consumer electronics, appliance, and mobile device company that offers innovative solutions to “make life good”.

SITUATION

LGE developed a platform which proved difficult to use and was under utilized by the sales and operations

teams. SOLTECH created 2.0- SOPS (Sales, Operations, and Planning Site). LGE needed a streamlined

tool for the sales and operations team to use to track quotes, orders, shipments, and warranties, along

with a strong back-end CRM and reporting engine.

SOLUTION

SOLTECH worked closely with LGE to implement a modern side technology by leveraging the strength of

the browser-side and server-side technology. SOLTECH re-imagined the entire workflow process and

user interface to better suit the actual sales and operation processes.

• Utilized SQL reporting to develop a richer reporting engine -- canned and customized.

• Completed a data integration with LGE’s EPR system

RESULT

• The solution was a success, launching within budget and the dedicated timeline. The process and user

interface was well received by the the sales and operations teams because it so closely mirrored the

regular flow of business, making adoption seamless.

• LGE trusted SOLTECH in their work product, and we continue to support this tool in the current creation

of a mobile application

• Sales productivity increased by 20% due to the organization and ease of the software
