IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS - SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS

This manual contains important instructions for that shall be followed during installation and maintenance of the combiner and transition boxes. General Notes This manual contains important instructions for all Vynckier Combiner Box models that must be followed. The boxes are designed and tested according to international safety requirements, but as with all electrical and electronic equipment, certain precautions must be observed when installing the disconnect combiner boxes. To reduce the risk of personal injury and to ensure the safe installation and operation of the disconnect combiner boxes, you must carefully read and follow all instructions and warnings in this Installation Manual. Symbols Equipment grounding conductor (EGC) - Environment This product is intended for operation in an environment having a maximum ambient temperature of 50 °C. Field Wiring Field wiring terminals are marked with one of the applicable markings: “Use Copper Conductors Only” when the terminal is rated only for connections to copper wire, “Use Aluminum conductors only” or “Use Aluminum Or Copper-Clad Aluminum Conductors Only” when the terminal is rated only for connection to aluminum wires, or “Use Copper or Aluminum Conductors” or “Use Copper, Copper-Clad Aluminum, or Aluminum Conductors” when the terminal is rated for connection to copper or aluminum wire. Use of Field-Installed Wire – The requirements for Field-Installed Wiring size and type used shall be in accordance with Nation Electrical Code (NEC), Article

310.15. The wire size shall be sized based on maximum declared current multiplied by 1.25 correction factor, or adjusted based on ambient temperature per Article 310.15(B)(2). The DC input circuits are isolated from the enclosure. System grounding, if required by Section 250 of the National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70, is the responsibility of the installer. The Photovoltaic System Grounding shall be installed per the requirements of Sections 690.41 through 690.47 of the National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70 and is the responsibility of the installer. Wiring method in accordance with National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70 wiring methods or Canadian Electrical Code C22.1-15, Part 1 shall be used for these products. PV String Fuses CAUTION: DISCONNECT SUPPLY BEFORE CHANGING FUSES All Vynckier disconnect combiner boxes are optionally supplied with fuses installed according to the user’s predetermined requirements. Ensure that only the fuses of the proper type are used for the rating of the combiner box. Never open a fuse holder while it is under load. Electrical arcing and damage to the fuse holder will occur if a fuse holder is opened under load. Conduit Hubs For conduit hubs, use only UL Listed rain tight, or wet location hubs for entry into the enclosure. Recommended Torque Ratings and Input/Output Wire Size for Models RF-3, RF-4, RF-6 when utilized at the maximum current rating:

In some instances, smaller wire may be used pursuant to the DC Current of the system. It is the responsibility of the installer to determine if a smaller wire size is suitable for the amount of current supplied by the system.
