Drop ShadowsDrop ShadowsDrop ShadowsGrab viewer attention with:
• Use them sparingly• Shadows can be colors other than black or gray• Deep shadows make object appear closer• Shadows can be darker or lighter than the shadowed image.
Use color sparingly:
• Limit colors to two or three on a contrasting background
These are too many colors
Not enough contrast here
Use Distinctive Color Contrasts
• Dark blues and blacks for background
• Whites or yellows for text, bullets, etc.
• We can’t easily read light on light
• Or dark on dark
Bright Colors
• Use for dominant message
• Don’t use on accompanying graphics/balance your colors
• Don’t overuse
More than one chart per slide can cause.....

Organizing Ideas
Use bullets to organize ideas in list format:
• Dots may be used as bullets
√ Check marks may be used as bullets
* Asterisks may be used as bullets
- Dashes may be used as bullets
Organizing Ideas
Use numbers to list items that are naturally sequenced:
1. May be chronological order
2. May be order of importance
3. May be hierarchical order
Do not superimpose words on graphics. This makes them hard to read.
Text•AVOID USING ALL CAPS FOR LONG TEXT •ALL CAPS ARE HARD TO READ•Upper and lower case are easier to read
•Limit each slide to two typefacesToo many get distracting
•Serif fonts are easier to read than san serif fonts for long text.
