� SAVING ENERGY: � Automation of Platform lighting

First time in Adra division, to save loss of

energy for platform lighting in station

premises, automation system was

introduced to remove the dependence of

human operation of platform lighting. This

has been commissioned at Adra, Bankura,

Bokaro , Purulia and Burnpur

all platforms. With this auto operation of

platform lighting, 25% platform lights will

get switched on at set time of 18.00 hrs. and

switched off at 05.40 hrs. automatically.

When there is no train, only 25% lights will

glow and with arrival of any coaching train,

remaining 75% will get ‘ON’ to be operated

by Dy.SS for the set time of 20 minutes and

then SWITCHED OFF AUTOMITICALLY thus

reducing 100% glow throughout the night

and saving energy consumption.

Approx Yearly savings : Rs.6 Lakhs

COMMERCIAL ACTIVITIES:

• ATVM COMMISSIONED: One ATVM was commissioned at Burnpur station on 28. 07.14. Versatile ATVMV has been sanctioned at BKSC, BQA & Proposal has been sent to HQ for pro viding ATVM in 11 Stns.

• Repairing of wharf at Chourasi siding completed.

• “ ON-LINE” booking of Retiring Room through IRCTC’s portal have been started at 11 loc ations (BKSC, ADRA, BQA, BURN, BBM, CDGR, KSX, MDF, PRR, JOC, VAA ).

• Adra Division has appointed STBS (Station Train Boo king Sevak) at 17 stations (All the STBS has commenced their work from 01.09.2014. (Ref. Commerc ial Circular No. 66/2013). JTBS installed at BKSC.

OTHER IMPORTANT ACTIVITIES:

• Coach cleaning activities at Adra, Purulia, Bankura and Garbeta has been outsourced.

• 16 stations (ADA,BKSC, PRR, BQA, VSU, JOC to BURN, SNKR to BJE) are outsourced for cleaning. As per SMR, HI & CI’s reports toilets are well maintained & cleanliness work is satisfactory. CLEANLINESS DRIVE:

1ST PHASE: Two weeks major Cleanliness drive was conducted at all important stations over Adra division by Officers from 06.06.14 to 20.06.14. During this drive special attention was given to cleanliness and maintenance of passenger amenities at platforms, toilets, waiting hall, retiring rooms, dormitories refreshment stalls and other areas of Passenger related. Announcement on P.A. system was made about awareness slogans on cleanliness to passengers

2ND PHASE : ADRA: As per the directives of Hon’ble Prime Minister, on 2nd

October’2014 “Swachch Bharat Mission” – A cleanliness drive was launched at Adra Divisional Railway Office Premises, involving Officers, Staff, School children, Bharat Scouts & Guides, RPF contingent etc. Before taking oath of “Swachhta Shapath” garlanding on the statue of Mahatma Gandhi was done and cleaning campaign launched.

PURULIA: On the same day, Hon’ble M.P.

Dr. Mirganka Mahato of Purulia participated in “Swachch Bharat Mission”. He also administered oath to Railway employees and others at station followed by tree plantation.

TUPKADIH:On 3rd October’14 at Tupkadih station Hon’ble M.P. Shri Ravindra Kumar Pandey of Giridih Constituency also participated in “Swachch Bharat Mission” followed by tree plantation.

OTHER ACTIVITIES: One Week Special Drive from 23.02.15 Weekly extensive special drive was carried out on the division. A detailed report has already been sent to HQ vide No.DRM/ADA/MISC/2015 dated: 03.03.15. Salient point are as under:

� No case of overcharging by Collies deducted at Stations where Coolies are there.

� No case of cornering of seats in unreserved coaches by touts was detected.

No touts at PRS counters over the division were detected.

a) Public Awareness CampaignInternational Level Crossing Awareness Day was observed on 03.06.2014 and from 02.06.14 to 07.06.14 level crossing awareness week was observed. During this period, Public awareness campaign to road users was launched at important stations and nearby Market area. Pamphlets were distributed about the provisions of M.V. Act and Rly. Act. The campaign was successfully conducted by team of Safety officers, trackman, RPF personal, Scouts and Guides.

b) World Environment Day05.06.2014 at Adra. Active role was played by S.E.Railway Bharat Scouts & Guides.

c) Safety seminar on “Rail & Weld failureBreakage of tongue rail, Working of track machines & trolleys, Safety of ballast train loading/unloading and Safety precaution at Level Crossing” was conducted at Divisional Engineering Training Centre/Adra on 26.07.14 & 15.11.2014.During the seminar 46 officers, Supervisor and staff participated.

d) Safety seminars were conducted on “Alcohol,

Drugs and Driving” at Bhojudih on 05.11.2014,

at Anara on 13.11.20014 and at Bokaro on

16.11.14. In the seminar family members of crew

and station staff were also present. The response

was overwhelming.

e) World health day observed on 07.04.14

Hospital Auditorium/Adra. To create awareness

on vector control, avoid mosquito bites, etc.,

“Prevent Pheri” was organized in Railway colony,

attended by staff, Members of SJBA and Scouts

& Guides.

and Guides. In the camp total 827 contingents

including staff, Service Rover/Rangers,

Cubs/Bulbuls from Central district, Chakdharpur,

Kharagpur, Ranchi and the host district Adra

participated. The theme of rally was “Swachh

Bharat Sunder Bharat”. The Valedictory function

held on 21.12.2014 was presided over by Chief

Guest, Shri Radhey Shyam, General Manager, Smt. Vinaya Kumari, President,

SERWWO gave away the prizes for the competitions.

n) 66th Republic Day was celebrated at SERSA stadium on 26.01.2015. Civil Defense, Scouts & Guides, NCC, RPF contigents and a large number of Railway School children participated in the parade and cultural programme. The Republic Day Parade was commanded by Lady Sub Inspector/RPF/Adra , Miss Bhawna at SERSA Stadium/Adra. All the platoons were Commanded only and only by Ladies & Girls Commanders including that of Boys High School .

o)Safety seminar on “SPAD” was conducted at Railway Institute, Bhojudih on

01.02.15 in which Supervisors, LPs, ALPs and their family members were participated.

p) Safety seminar on “Energy Conservation, Acoiding SPAD and SPAD cases” was conducted at Anara on 27.02.15 in which 09 CLIs, 12 LPs and 16 A LPs participated.

q) 05 Safety seminars on “ Avoid shortcut method, attending failure in proper

procedure, maintenance of S&T equipments” was conducted at Bhaga (11.02.15), Bokaro(12.02.15), Bhojudih(12.02.15), Khanudih(16.02.15) and Mahuda(19.02.15).
