SOME REMARKABLE EVENTS OF MY LIFE IN GERMANY…
As I am very fond of travelling and always in search to attain such opportunities to full fill my dream of
exploring the beauty of nature. I use to travel in my country most of the time but never experienced
travelling abroad before. My dream came true when I received call from DAAD that I have been selected
for Study trip to Germany. Such news was just like bumper prize for me and it sound extremely pleasant
and then I start imagination about our trip.
Our journey started from Islamabad airport at night time and after enough travelling in the sky we finally
landed on the land of ideas and hospitality. We were picked by Mr. Nicolson Node our tour guide and
the most loving person who turned as my best friend later on. Our journey started in Germany from
Munich city, which is one of the most developed and economically leading city of Germany. At that day
we stay in motel and prefer rest and then we started our travelling next day. At morning time we enjoy
Detaches Museum which included many ancient and modern equipments and historical data which
entertain us a lot. We also enjoyed football stadium in Olympia Park. The most interesting part of our
stay in Munich for me was our visit to the Head office of BMW. We go through many departments of it
and were entertained from the entire scenario of production and selling process of BMW automobiles in
the entire world. Then we proceed to Ludwing Maximilian University where we were introduced to
some students and with whom we have to spend our day and also noticed their activities in daily life. My
tandem was Feli Hoffmann. She was student of International Relations. I have spent very good time with
her; she offered me lunch, ice cream, coffee and much more. I really loved her company because she
was very intellectual and competent. We exchanged our views regarding political, cultural and social
systems of our countries and it was very informative for me. At night time we were invited by DAAD for
dinner at Pakistani restaurant (Deeba) where we enjoyed meal with our tandems and other guests.
Then we travelled towards Heidelberg, which is full of natural beauties and also we enjoyed it a lot. The
most fabulous event for me was the meeting with teachers and students of South Asian Institute. Where
I get much pleased by talking in my national language Urdu with them. This time my tandem was Mr.
Nails, He was student of politics and very loving person. I visited his flat and we enjoyed discussion on
current issues of my country and its relation with rest of the world. I enjoyed his company a lot and he
showed me historical city center and palace. At night time we were invited by DAAD on dinner in Indian
restaurant where we discuss certain issues with the Indian scholars and students. Schwertzingen palace
and Gardens was the most interesting event for me, which was a sign of great tradition of ancient time.
The visit of the dome cathedral was also very interesting and meaningful and I enjoyed it with my
friends and team.
After Heidelberg we arrived to Bonn which is one of the ancient and established city where all the major
organizations have their head offices. Our visit to Museum Ludwing which is the Museum of Modern
Art is one of joyful event for me. In cologne we enjoyed the historical city centre and I also did some
shopping for my friends and family. In Bonn we visited the Head office of DAAD and there we finalized
our research work and the comments of our tendents which we submitted with there and the result
astonished me a lot. We also visited to the research institute ZEF where some students of PhD delivered
us lectures on their thesis work which was very much fruitful and interesting. I was very much impressed
from one of student who belongs from Ganna in regards of his achievements and vision. His patriotic
nature forces me to think about my county, which open my mind and give some dimension to my life.
We were invited by one of Pakistani students for food and at that and we enjoyed gossip and meal with
him.
Berlin the capital of Germany is also one of remarkable site of my experience. The most interesting site
was the memorial of the division of Germany Marienborn where we were acknowledged about the past
of Germany and the difficulties which the individuals face at that time. We also visited Federal center for
civic Education where we attend lecture regarding political system and the current Economic policies of
Germany. The lecture was quite interested but I feel that the instructor was missing the point of tackling
it in appropriate manner. Berlin wall memorial enhance our knowledge regarding the history and the
struggle ahead by individuals in Germany in that crucial time. We visited different sites of Berlin wall
and enjoyed our time with other tourists. At night time DAAD invited us for Dinner, where we were
introduced with some students of Pakistan who were conducting their research work who were
sponserd by DAAD and HEC. One of them belongs from my native town and he was my next door
neighbor, it was sign of great pleasure for me by conversing with him. We exchange our views about his
experience in Germany and the current situation of my city. He also advise me to come back Germany
for higher studies because he was very much satisfied and encouraged from educational system of
Germany and its loving and loyal residents
.
We were invited by the Ambassador of Pakistan to Germany Mr.Shahid Kamal for a cup of tea with him,
by the request of one of our competent and intellectual fellow. We enjoy debt with our country
representative and signified a lot from his positive and encouraging comments regarding the youth of
our nation. He was owner of very cooperative and loving attitude and all of our fellows praise him a lot
during our statement.
One of my memorable event was our visit to German Parliament (Deutscher Bundestag) where we met
with member of parliament Mr. Paul Leherieder of Christian Democratic Union. He delivered us a brief
lecture regarding Pak-German relationship in different aspects like trading, politics, and education. He
also aware us from different projects which the Germany is proceeding currently and will in near future
in Pakistan. I suggest them to focus more on the projects like Electricity and education in my country
and his intensions was very cooperative. My fellows also notify them to promote such kind of exchange
programs between Pak-Germany such that we get develop good relations , to understand the feeling
and real nature of each other’s instead of focusing and believing the false propagandas of media. We
also tried to clear his ideas about our country and to show him real picture of Pakistan by our views and
behavior because he was a person of fixed mind setup at that time. We also explored much more about
history of Berlin and visited the glorious Sanssouci palace and park. We were invited for dinner by DAAD
on our last night; everyone was very much emotional because we have to leave our loving and gorgeous
friends tomorrow. Ms. Ursula Sarbacc issues us certificates and then we proceed to our hotel. I have
been companied by my best fellows that time and we discussed about our good time in Germany.
Germany is very glorious place of the world and its peoples are very competent and loyal. They are very
hard worker and always focus on an innovation that’s why the world called it land of Ideas. The
infrastructure of Germany is very impressive and its residents are enjoying very high standard of life.
They are human lover and the promoters of humanity and I never feel single time that I am outside of
my home during my stay in Germany because I always such respect and love from its peoples as I am
searching in my home country. I found them very much practice and straight forward in their routine life
which I guess is one of their prominent features. Throughout my stay I didn’t found any individual having
dismay on their face, it is because they are much satisfied from their life style and policies government. I
have developed an image in my mind about Germany which is Germany is land of hospitality, humanity,
and innovations.
I am very thankful to DAAD and its team who provide us such glorious opportunity to explore about
Germany and to enhance our knowledge about the western cultural and social system. The trip was
much informative, well organized and facilitated beyond my thoughts. The behavior of our tour guide
Mr. Nicolas Nordt was very loving and friendly. I will especially thanking to Ms. Ursula Sarbacc. she care
us a lot by considering us as her own Childs and in her presence I didn’t feel absence of my family. This
study trip enhanced my interest in Germany and now it’s my dream to go back for higher education
there.
