These were then read out and the others had to guess who it was. 2 Update & Feedback The group were presented with a certificate for their contribution to the ‘Children and Young Peoples Plan’ consultation. The young people wanted individual certificates, so have provided Lesley with their emails. Lesley to send out certificates. 3 . Guests: Anna Elliot, Sue Walton & Sam Speed. Sue explained how she is wanting to make animation to help train social work students the importance of gaining the views of the young people they are working with and how this can improve their work. 1 Introductions Action

All introduced themselves and played a game of ‘Who is it?’ Each person wrote four statements about themselves. These were then read out and the others had to guess who it was.

2 Update & Feedback

The group were presented with a certificate for their contribution to the ‘Children and Young Peoples Plan’ consultation.The young people wanted individual certificates, so have provided Lesley with their emails.

3. Guests: Anna Elliot, Sue Walton & Sam Speed.

Sue explained how she is wanting to make animation to help train social work students the importance of gaining the views of the young people they are working with and how this can improve their work.

The group slit into 3 groups and shared ideas of how they can get these views, the positives and negatives of the different approaches to gaining these views

This information will appear in the animation. Sue also asked for 4 volunteers who are happy to have their voices recorded for the animation.

Charlie, Holly & Tia volunteered.

4. Expression of Interest

Charlie read out an Expression of Interest from Helen McDonald

who would like to come along and meet the group. All voted to invite her.

Lesley to invite Helen to the November meeting.

Young people decided what they would like to eat at their November meeting, cold food as the cooker is broken.

5. Activity

Wink murder

Young people then decided on the activities/ games they would like to play next meeting. Charades & 21

6. Planning for next meeting.

Young people were asked to think about what they would like to look at in their next meeting. All agreed they would like to look at CLA reviews

Lesley asked the young people to start thinking about their Christmas party.

Lesley to add to agenda.

7. Virtual School

Following on from a previous meeting where the virtual head attended. The young people began to think about how they would like to get the message about being in care into schools.

This is to be a long-term project that the young people will work on over several months. The project began with the young people brain storming their ideas about the type of resource and the messages they would like share.

Lesley to add school project as a standing agenda item.
