This Songbook was created during the Youth Exchange “Cultural Harmony of your Differences”. Exchange took place in Kranj, Slovenia in September 2018, connecting 32 participants from Slovenia, Italy, Latvia, Poland and Spain. Songbook consist of songs in different languages. One of them is our original song that the group wrote during the project – song C.H.O.R.D. Using different languages and styles helped group to connect and everybody to add something to the project.

Not even a week has passed and it seems like I know you for a lifetime. Music has gathered us together and it has been really amazing. New places, new cultures, new languages, new instruments, new songs, new dances, new games, new FRIENDS.

I liked everything but most of all group games. Playing the Cajon and having lessons was fun. Creating our song all together, we were able to unite different cultures. Latvia

Projekt CHORD je bila izkušnja vredna vsega vloženega truda in časa. Gledati mlade, ki so motivirani, polni energije in vredni zaupanja v današnjih časi veliko pomeni. Mislim, da je vsak izmed udeležencev tekom projekta pridobil drugačne, a pomembne izkušnje. Jaz sem jih obilo! Delo ob glasbi se je izkazalo za zelo sproščujoče, hitro razbija “oklepe” mladih in jih spodbuja k sodelovanju in izražanju.

This exchange allowed me to put my shyness away and communicate with people from different countries, improving my English level and also learning some words in Italian, Slovene and Latvian. It couldn’t be better. It’s my first project and I got so inspired about it. I never met so many talented boys and girls. I am no proud to be part of it. The final result – our event was huge and we did a great job that was done by our common work. Unbelievable and fantastic. Couldn’t imagine that it can be so cool!

The first thought that I thought when I heard about the project was that connecting people from different countries using music isn’t amazing idea. During the project we were able to use our creativity, expand our imagination, work our team cooperation and wrote all our music styles. Brundanje, cviljenje, topot po vsakem predmetu, ki ti pride pod roke. Med vožnjo, hojo, čakanjem Italijanov, zajtrkovanjem, konstantno in nikoli dovolj. Ves ta prijeten hrup je en teden prihajal iz petih zelo različnih kultur, ki so se čudežno poklopile skupaj. Živeti v Kranju kot turist, tudi ena nova in zelo zanimiva izkušnja. V lastnem rojstnem kraju sem se počutila še bolj doma, kot pa po navadi. Skupek zanimivih ljudi in dobre glasbe, ter plesa je presegel vsa moja pričakovanja in ustvaril enega najlepših spominov.

The project has a great lesson of music impact on people relations for youth. I was given a possibility to participate in multiple interesting activities which surely improved my music awareness. Erasmus+ is a great opportunity to get to know people and cultures of different countries. The time spent on organised activities allowed us to learn something new but also it was a great fun and the way to make new friendships.

Večino časa smo preživeli v domačem okolju, vendar je bil ta projekt vseeno pogled v drugi svet. V enem tednu smo z vrsto raznolikih dejavnosti bolje spoznali tako tujo, kot tudi svojo kulturo. Preko glasbe in plesa smo stkali vezi prijateljstva, ki bodo ostale še dolgo po koncu projekta. In čeprav ta teden zaključujemo prehlajeni in utrujeni, bomo nanj ohranili čudovit spomin.

What I enjoyed the most is the fact that every day we had different interesting activities, such as improvisation, dancing national dances and singing local songs. All people involved were incredibly friendly hart warming - no one ever laughed at mistakes done. Slovenes, the hosting country, did their best to interact with us all, so even the most socially awkward person would feel welcome and supported. Lastly, it is amazing that we composed and recorded our own “C.H.O.R.D.” song. HVALA!

It was my 1st Erasmus+ project and coming down from the plane, I was a bit nervous, since I didn’t know what to wait. As a result I wasn’t sure what I was estimating from the exchange. Although, it was great it brought me out of my shell, hearing up with all those talented people inspired me in developing my musical skills realising my potential. I had a great time which I will never forget and moreover now I have much more fresher ideas beside to think about. So Erasmus gave me new paths in every directions.

ITALY:Always remember your roots, the Earth is all that you have.My homeland is my pride, it`s all that I need.Sometimes I find myself lost in the world but I always come back home.AND I`M HAPPY, AND I`M HAPPY.Although we are citizens of the world,there is a deep bond with our “Cilento”I used to scream and no one understood mebut since I’ve been here, I don`t feel alone anymore.
