With her latest single, “Finger on therigger,” K’Sandra has found thehrobbing pulse of pop culture.riginally from Munich, Germany, thisrtist understands that it takes a little

more than talent and a hit song tomake headlines, it takes vision, style, rive and a positive attitude. On Friday,’Sandra will not only be celebratinger birthday, but she will also beerforming at LA Fashion Week! Thesing star graciously took time fromer hectic schedule to answer a fewuestions for Songwriter’s Monthly.

ongwriter’s Monthly: What was thenspiration for your brand new single,Finger On The Trigger?”

K’Sandra: “Finger On The Trigger” winspired by coming out of a fightbattle where things just went wrongmany years. I could not get contromy thoughts and some negatfeelings attached to them andseemed to lead to one disaster aanother . . . until I changed mindset. Once I did, so many wondethings began falling into place. It that whatever I thought, whatevetried to imagine could become real,it was time to put my “Finger on Trigger” and shoot for moving forwinstead of backward. The express  “Finger on the Trigger” canassociated with something “dark negative,” but I turned it around made it into something positivewanted to create this song out of own experiences to help others crepositive change and sparks in thlives, especially in a time that seemsdark as this one is right now.

SM: There is a moment in “Finger The Trigger” when along with Acelebrities, making headlines and otthings that go hand-in-hand with fabulous life, you mention stage frigDid you ever experience stage fright

K: Yes, I did experience stage frigunknowingly. The way I imagined stfright was always like your vostopped working — I’ve seen thatmany nightmares — but it was not

ll like that. It was forgetting my lyricso a song that I had sung 1000 times! Iad an open air gig at a huge theatre inhe middle of Hollywood Boulevarduring the day — the gig had been setp by my manager and I had noterformed for at least a year and it hadome way too quickly. I totally forgot

my lyrics and went into space, it waslmost like a verse-long blackout. Theecond verse of one of my songs just

was gone! Luckily, I was blessed toave had amazing backing singers whoaught it and filled right in. Still, it is a

moment that I will never forget. Ilways laugh when telling that story.

tage fright is part of what you have toeel as an artist to know you are on theght track. Each fan deserves the best

performance and 1000% of you. If do not connect with each fan in yaudience and you do not experiestage fright, it becomes mechanical can not stand mechanical proceduEven if there are fans who are not likwhat you are doing, you are gettingemotion or reaction out of them that is what we work for!

SM: There is a great line in “Finger The Trigger” that rings so true.states: “anything is possible when ycup is running full.” What does that mean to you?

K: “Anything is possible when your is running full” has a double-simeaning — as a lot of my songs dome, it means that there are tons

pportunities out there that are right inront of you and you can tacklenything! But it can also mean thathen you are so overloaded and you

eel like your cup is full and you can notake on any more, there are stillpportunities existing in this cup right

n front of you and you need toe looking deeper into it. Butverybody can paint their ownicture and the listeners willake the message out of thatne that is meant for them.

M: What is your approach toriting a song?

: I tend to write my hooksrst, but each song developsifferently. Sometimes I hearust an instrumental track andrite lyrics to it, however, moreften I write the lyrics first andork with a producer to lay tracks in

he studio. Sometimes I play on theuitar with my band in our rehearsaloom that is right next to my kitchen —ooking and music just go greatogether! — and a song evolves out of hat. I have also written songs withoutven hearing music at all, the wholeong comes to me — sometimes when Im asleep — and I record it into aecorder and write the music around it.song is always a work in progress and

ven after it is “finished,” I will hearomething that could be added or

changed. The beauty of art is it taon a life of its own.

SM: What has been the most excitaspect/memory/experience of ycareer so far?

K: I never look back because so mis always happening in the momeHowever, to answer your questionwould say the most exciting momwas when I heard my own soplaying in some TV shows and on US

and radio. A recent event was performing at a huge pre-GramParty in Beverly Hills and being styby JGerard Couture (Paul McCartnRihanna and Cher). Also it is vexciting that designer Natalya Egorfrom New York (Lady Gaga, AlexanMcQueen) is going to design custoutfits for me!

SM: I couldn’t help but notice yfondness for the number 11. Yalbum LIGHT ‘N’  DARK is scheduledcome out 11/11/11 at 11:11am P

What is the significance behind thatumber?

: The number 11 possesses theualities of intuition, patience, honesty, ensitivity, and spirituality, and it isdealistic. In systems such as Astrologynd basic Numerology, 11 is consideredo be a Master Number. Throughout myfe I have seen 11:11 many times, itas just been following me. Whenroken down (1+1=2) comprises thewo of duality. I feel this number isepresenting the idealist and visionaryn me as well as my attraction to thenknown. I named my upcoming albumIGHT ’N’ DARK to represent the energyf Oppositions and the balancingeeded in order to achieve synthesis.

SM: Is there anything you’d like to to your fans?

K: I want to express gratitude to eof my loyal fans and tell them hmuch I appreciate their support. Inartists work so hard and give our falmost “personal” attention compato somebody coming along with a label budget. I want to encourage fans to build their own opinions instof believing what they see in the meI also want to encourage my friendsnot judge and to never let anybstand in the way of your dreams, more someone stands in your way,

more you should pursue your goMost of all, I want to encourage peoto live their life to its fullest every and to be as wild and free as they ca

SM: Thank you for being so passiona

K: I am very passionate abeverything I do. Wait until you some of my outfits that will outdo LGaga!
