Interference may occur in the vicinity of equipment markedwith following symbol:

NOTE 1: At 80 MHz and 800 MHz, the higher frequency range applies.

NOTE 2: These guidelines may not apply in all situations. Electromagnetic propagation is affected by absorption andreflection from structures, objects and people.

a Field strengths from fixed transmitters, such as base stations for radio (cellular/cordless) telephones and land mobileradios, amateur radio, AM and FM radio broadcast and TV broadcast cannot be predicted theoretically with accuracy. Toassess the electromagnetic environment due to fixed RF transmitters, an electromagnetic site survey should beconsidered. If the measured field strength in the location in which the HVO-1000MD/3000MT is used exceeds theapplicable RF compliance level above, the HVO-1000MD/3000MT should be observed to verify normal operation. Precautions for products with built-in HDD

This unit has a built-in hard disk drive (HDD). The HDDis a precision device. If subject to shock, vibration, staticelectricity, high temperature or humidity, data loss can

occur. When installing and using the unit, closely observethe following precautions.

Protect from shocks and vibrationsWhen subject to shocks or vibrations, the HDD can bedamaged and loss of data on the HDD can occur. When transporting the unit, use the specified packing

material. When transporting on a dolly or similar, use atype which does not transmit excessive vibrations.

Excessive shocks and vibrations can damage the HDD. Never move the unit while it is powered. Also before

feet, and put the unit down carefully. If there are no feet, mount the rubber feet first.

Do not place the unit near other devices that may becomea source of vibrations.

Do not turn off power during operationIf you turn off the main power switch on the rear panel ofthe unit while the unit is in operational mode, the HDDmay be damaged and loss of data on the HDD may occur.Always make sure that the unit is in standby mode beforesetting the main power switch to the a(off) position toturn off the power.

Wait for 30 seconds after turning power offFor a brief interval after the power is turned off, the plattersinside the HDD will still keep spinning and the heads willbe in an insecure position. During this interval, the unit ismore susceptible to shocks and vibrations than duringnormal operation. For a period of at least 30 seconds afterturning power off, avoid subjecting the unit even to verylight shocks. After this period, the hard disk will be fullystopped and the unit can be manipulated.

Temperature and humidity related precautionsUse and store the unit only in locations where the specifiedtemperature and humidity ranges are not exceeded. (Be

sure to use the unit that conforms fully to the specificationsof this unit.)

When HDD seems to be faultyEven if the HDD is showing signs of malfunction, be sureto observe all the above precautions. This will preventfurther damage from occurring until the problem can bediagnosed and corrected.
