Page 8: SOP-Upgrade 9100 Bts With Tre Evolution Modules

1 Overview

1.1 PresentationThis scenario is applicable if:

There is no change in the BTS configuration (e.g. no TRE, sector, GPRS

addition/removal during the operation)

When the type of TRE is changed, the TRE frequency band remains

unchanged

When the ANX is changed to ANC, ANB, AGX, AGY, AGC and AGC9P,the sector frequency band remains unchanged

The ANB boards can only be used for reduced configurations.

1.1.1 Cases

The following cases apply:

C1: Replace TRE modules:

C1.1: Replace one or several TREs with Evolution TREs (EDGEcompatible)

C1.2: Replace one TRE/TRA with a TWIN TRA (1 TRX, Non-TX-Div, 2RX-Div)

C1.3: Replace two TRE/TRA with a TWIN TRA (2 TRX, Non-TX-Div, 2

RX-Div).

C2: Replace an old SUM board with a new SUM board, where old SUM

board can be SUMP or SUMA and new SUM board can be SUMA or SUMX.

C3: Replace one or several ANx (ANX, ANC, ANB) modules with ANC,ANB, AGX, AGY, AGC or AGC9P modules, without SUM board move

C4: Replace one or several ANx (ANX, ANC, ANB) modules with ANC,ANB or AGX, AGY, AGC or AGC9P modules, with SUM board move .

Note: Several cases can be combined at the same time.

For the reduced configurations, the ANX modules can be replaced by theANB boards.

1.1.2 Options

None.

1.1.3 Restrictions

The following restrictions apply to 9100 BTS:

For 9100 BTS Mini 3x1 TRE (indoor and outdoor), ANX cannot be replaced

with ANC (even if all ANX are replaced with ANC)

With the old subrack version (STASR 3BK 07193 AAxx), ANX must not be

replaced with ANC or with ANB (no holes for ANC or ANB screws).

1 Overview

1.2 Preparation

1.2.1 Prerequisites

The following prerequisites apply:

For cases C1.2 and C1.3, the BTS must be equipped with SUMA

The BTS must not contain any G3 TREs for a configuration with more

than 12 TREs.

1.2.2 Site Specific Information

You must have the following specific information to complete the scenario:

At the OMC-R, availability of a workstation, with the server User Name andPassword, allowing network configuration

Input : customer reports about the final Alcatel-Lucent 9100 BTSconfiguration (which modules must be replaced).

1.2.3 External Tasks
