DEVELOPMENT FOR FOOD SECURITY AND NUTRITION: WHAT ROLES FOR LIVESTOCK?

UN Committee on World Food Security report by the High Level Panel of Experts on Food Security and Nutrition

Drawing on its global expertise, IDF engaged all of its working areas throughout the process (three online consultations and face-to-face negotiations) to make substantial contributions to the final report and recommendations

2016 ISO TS 34700

IDF’s active participation in ISO/TC 034/WG 16 contributed to the overall readability and understandability of the TS. In particular, IDF provided key input on management principles.

Mainly outcome-based and provides public and private organizations with a framework for implementing good practices and monitoring activities to ensure dairy cow welfare

RECENT ACCOMPLISHMENTS2016 IDF PARATUBERCULOSIS FORUM

Convened prior to the 13th International Colloquium on Paratuberculosis

The ParaTB Forum is an ongoing IDF initiative started in 2006.

Paratuberculosis (Johne’s disease) experts from 14 countries engaged in a frank discussion about methods used to mitigate incidence, progress in meeting program objectives, and lessons learnt.

The participating national and regional Johne’s Disease program managers discussed the management plans of 11 countries.
