How do I earn Distinguished Achievement? Complete Foundation Plan requirements
plus… At least one endorsement that includes 1 additional advanced math (one must be
Algebra 2) 1 additional advanced science 2 more elective credits
How do you earn a Performance Acknowledgement? One or more of the following areas:
12 or more hours of dual credit courses with grade of 80 or higher
Demonstrated proficiency in 4 years of English and 3 years of foreign language courses with grade of 80 or higher
Earning an approved national certification or license Outstanding performance on PSAT (NMSQT), SAT
(1280 rdg/math), ACT-PLAN, or ACT(28 composite w/out writing)
AP scores: English, Spanish, Physics, Calculus (score of 3 or above)
Why should I take Algebra II if it’s not required? Foundation Plan doesn’t REQUIRE Algebra II, but it is strongly recommended if your child is college bound And Algebra II is still required if you want to earn Distinguished Achievement Automatic admission under the Top 10% Rule The STEM endorsement
Cuero High School Grade Classifications 1. Sophomores 6 credits 2. Juniors 12 credits 3. Seniors 18 credits 4. 26 total credits to graduate 5. Pass your classes 6. Pass your EOC exams: English I, Algebra I, Biology,
English II and US History 7. You will have make up hours after 9 absences per
semester
Grade Point Average and Ranking The GPA will be averaged and ranked at the end of
each semester The transcript includes the GPA, rank, courses and grades
for each course taken during high school
TSI – Texas Success Initiative All students must take this test prior to dual credit and
prior to college admission There are exemptions for the TSI with the SAT/ACT The 3 subjects tested are Math, Reading and Writing The test is administered at The Victoria College
