We are preparing for the Mid America Crusade for Christ 2020; let us get started with a passion for souls. Romans 10:1-10 Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved. For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteous- ness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. For Moses writes about the righteousness which is of the law, “The man who does those things shall live by them.” But the righteousness of faith speaks in this way, “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’ ” (that is, to bring Christ down from above) or, “ ‘Who will descend into the abyss?’ ” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. When we read the 10th chapter, we see the great heart of Paul; he loved the Lord Jesus with all of his heart. "Brethren, my heart’s desire " What is your heart’s desire? He didn't say, “My heart's several desires,” He said “My heart's desire.” I have one desire, says Paul. I have one consuming passion, says Paul. I have one thing that I want above everything else, says Paul. “Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God” Whenever we have a real desire, we go to God. He fulfills desires! “My heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they might be saved.” His heart's desire was for the salvation for souls. His heart's desire and prayer was that others might know the Lord. He had a consuming passion for two things: • To know Christ and to make Him known. • That was the motive in His life. That was the thing that consumed this great man. He had a purpose. Proverbs 11:30 “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.” Psalms 126:6 “He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.” He had a passion. He had a high interest. His heart was in the salvation of souls! Do you know Christ as your Lord and Savior? This is the first step in living a life of fullness. God’s Word tells us in John 1:12 to all who received Him, to those who believed in his name, He gave the right to become children of God. Folks, as a child of God, we receive the Holy Spirit. Acts 1:8 tells us when we receive the power of the Holy Spirit we will go tell others about Jesus Christ. Do we have this same passion as the Apostle Paul had? Let’s make 2020 a year for the Lord as we share God’s love with others. What a day such as this to see souls coming to JESUS!!! 2020 VBS Concrete & Cranes- Building on Jesus shows children the foundation that lasts.
