EDUCATION, WORKFORCE & RESEARCHThe Dairy and Food
Science Department at South Dakota State University
(SDSU) has a unique blend of expertise ranging from
milk production at the farm to processing it into
a wide range of food products. In addition to the
dairy programs, the Food Science programs offer
expertise in the fundamentals of food chemistry,
processing, microbiology and safety through
comprehensive undergraduate and graduate
programs, as well as research. Graduates of the
program are well-positioned to be employed by
the food industry and faculty members routinely
engage with industry to conduct research.
