Tal Brody

Tal Brody, nicknamed “Mr. Basketball”, is an American-Israeli former professional basketball player and

current Goodwill Ambassador for Israel. He played on national basketball teams for both the United States and Israel, and served in the army of both countries. Brody was a New Jersey All-Star

basketball player in high school, an All-American point guard at the University of Illinois, and the 12th pick in the 1965 NBA draft. Before

the NBA season started, he was convinced by Moshe Dayan to move to Israel to help elevate the country’s basketball team and

morale, leading him to a career with Maccabi Tel Aviv.
