Dear members, I hope you are all enjoying the colourful, beautiful fall weather The Thanksgiving Luncheon was delightful. What a wonderful opportunity to sit together with friends and say thank you for the ongoing support we receive from each other. I am proud that we have the “Best Seniors Centre” on the Westside, where everybody is welcome and where we are not only friends but family. Please help us in our fundraising efforts so that we can successfully continue our work for all of you. The bazaar is approaching and we need your donations and your participation as volunteers and buyers. This is the main fundraising event of the year and your help is needed. Please give your house a good cleaning and donate the things you no longer need or use. If they are in good condition, we are more than happy to receive them. Items we can’t sell will be put to good use by people in the Downtown Eastside and immigrant groups. We also need volun-teers to help us by providing baking such as cooking, cakes, pies, and anything that we can sell. Many of our members come to the bazaar just to buy the pop-ular baked goods and delicious jam. The raffle tickets are ready for sale. Please ask the receptionist for tickets. It is time for the Flu Clinic again; you can register now to get your shot at the Centre on Thursday, November 19th from 10:30AM onward.
I hope to see all of you here at the Centre for our Holly Bazaar on Saturday
November 28th from 10:00am to 2:00pm. Please don’t forget to bring your
friends!
With love,
Donna Barnes Beatrice Davis William Elliot Marjorie Ewing Joan Ferguson Gloria Schwartz Morie Shacker

We were very fortunate to have the opportunity to organize the Federal
Elec2on All-Candidates’ Mee2ng, in collabora2on with 411 Seniors Centre
Society and West End Seniors Network. It took place on Tuesday, Sep 22nd
and featured candidates, Jody Wilson-Raybould, Erinn Broshko, Michael
Barkusky, and Jenny Kwan, in place of Mira Oreck (Mira Oreck gave her
deepest regrets that she could not make the event. It was Yom Kippur that
day).
While all candidates in the riding did a great job, we would like to congratu-
late and welcome Jody Wilson-Raybould, as the new MP for the Vancouver
Granville Riding.
We look forward to having her in our community!
