Project background

What are we doing?

Watermain construction to ensure the Region maintains the water system in south west Mississauga by:

• Replacing aging critical watermain infrastructure (circa 1960)

• Adding new support watermains to the system to support customer demand and optimize pressure zones, with some areas experiencing an increase in water pressure

Indian Grove

Indian Grove is a crowded utility corridor. Due to space constraints the two watermains must be constructed on opposite sides of the road. Construction sequence ensures water supply, and vehicle and pedestrian traffic flow is maintained.

Contract 1 - Indian Grove temporary sidewalk

• A temporary sidewalk will be constructed on east side of Indian Grove during watermain construction on the west side of Indian Grove

• The temporary sidewalk will be removed for 600mm watermain construction in same location

• Area will be restored to original condition at end of construction

Contract 1 - Driveway and landscaping restoration

• Watermains will be constructed within the municipal right-of-way but will disrupt driveways

• All efforts will be made to reinstate driveways to match existing conditions• Interlocking brick will be removed, stored

onsite and replaced• Region will contact residents with concrete

driveways to arrange restoration

• All efforts will be made to minimize tree removals/transplants

• New curb, sidewalk and asphalt on Indian Grove

• Sub-transmission and local distribution watermains on South Sheridan Way from Southdown Road to Indian Grove, and on Pierre Place, Indian Road and Cottonwood Court

• Pressure zone increase to residents on South Sheridan Way and Indian Road

• Construction from Spring 2021 to Fall 2022
