Admission RequirementsDual Credit StudentsStudents with dual credit/early college credit should apply as beginning freshmen. You have paid the application fee if you took the credit through Southeast.
Home-Schooled StudentsSubmit the home-school transcript with each course listed by grade and signed by the home-school educator. If using a transcript service, have them send an official transcript.
Non-Traditional StudentsApplicants are non-traditional if they are 21 or older, married, supporting a dependent child or a veteran with qualified armed forces active duty. Documentation is required. Proof of high school graduation or completion of GED must be submitted.
Transfer StudentsYou are eligible for admission as a transfer student if you are in good academic standing at your last accredited college/university and have a 2.0 cumulative transfer GPA.Apply for transfer admission at the beginning of
your last semester at your current college. Course equivalencies and enrollment

✔ Mathematics – 3 units (Algebra I, Algebra II/Intermediate Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Math Analysis acceptable)
✔ Social Studies – 3 units (one unit of American history and one semester of government required; contemporary issues, business law, philosophy, psychology, sociology, world history also acceptable)
✔ Science – 3 units (not including general science; select physical science, earth science, environmental science, astronomy, biology, chemistry, physics, botany, zoology or anatomy and physiology; one must be a lab course)
✔ Visual/Performing Arts – 1 unit (art, dance, music or theatre)
✔ Additional – 3 units (foreign language and/or a combination from the above areas)
Note: If your school does not have a 4.0 scale, convert your GPA to a 4.0 equivalent by multiplying your GPA by four and dividing that number by the scale your school uses. Example, a 4.38 GPA on a 5.0 scale converted GPA equivalent is 3.5 [(4.38x4)/5=3.50].

Residence Halls Living in the residence halls contributes to your overall education. Research demonstrates that students who live on campus do better academically and rate their college experience as more satisfying. Southeast’s campus includes 12 residence halls, whether you are interested in community-style or suite-style housing. For more information, visit www.semo.edu/housing After admission to the University, complete the Contract for University Housing online via the process outlined in your admission materials. A $150 housing deposit is required. Enrollment at Southeast continues to grow. As a result, the residence halls at Southeast may reach their full capacity by July 1. The priority housing deadline is December 1. Due to space limitations, submitting a housing contract by this date does not guarantee that students will be placed in their choice of housing.

Jane Stephens Honors Program The Jane Stephens Honors Program offers oppor-tunities tailored to the aspirations and motivations of students with intellectual and creative abilities, underscoring Southeast’s commitment to leadership. rESIDENCE LIFE LEADErSHIP SCHoLArSHIPValue: $800 to be applied to residence hall fees. This award may be combined with ONE of the following scholarships: a $4,000 President’s Scholarship, a $2,000 University Scholarship, or the Midwest Achievement Award.
Eligibility: This scholarship is awarded to beginning freshmen who meet the following criteria.1. Will reside in a University residence hall AND2. 19 composite ACT or 900 SAT (CR+M) AND3. 3.0 cumulative high school GPA AND4. Complete the optional scholarship questions as part of
the online application for admission to demonstrate a record of student involvement. Applicants involved in multiple school or community activities for at least three years of high school will be considered for this award. The Residence Life Leadership Scholarship is automatically awarded to students who provide documentation of one of the following recognitions: Boys’ State, Girls’ State, Missouri Renaissance program participant, Missouri A+ high school graduate, Eagle Scout, or the Girl Scout Gold Award.
Renewal: The Residence Life Leadership Scholarship is renewable each year up to a maxi mum of four consecu-tive academic years, providing the student is living in the South east residence halls, is enrolled full time (fall and spring) and completes 24 Southeast credit hours per academic year with a 3.25 cumulative GPA in courses taken at Southeast.
MAA Value: $3,490 (approximate) The scholarship value is the difference between out-of-state incidental fees and 130 percent of in-state incidental fees (see “Average Annual Cost of Attendance” chart on page 5 for details). MAA may be combined with ONE of the following scholarships: a $4,000 President’s Scholarship, a $2,000 University Scholarship, or an $800 Residence Life Leadership Scholarship. Transfer students may combine MAA with the Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship.
Eligibility: The MAA is awarded to students in the Midwest Student Exchange Program (MSEP) states including Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota and Wisconsin and to students in the neighboring states of Arkansas, Kentucky and Tennessee. No separate application is required.

Note: The early admission consideration and scholarship guarantee deadline is December 1 for Governor’s, Regents’ and President’s; March 1 for University and all other scholarships.
2. Cumulative GPA requirements are based on a 4.0 scale at the end of six or seven semesters. Eighth semester grades are not considered for scholarship eligibility.
3. The December national ACT/SAT test dates are the final dates used for Governor’s, Regents’ and President’s Scholarship consideration. February test dates are the final dates used for all other scholarships.
Value:1. The Governor’s and Regents’ scholarships pay
incidental fees for the equivalent of 30 South-east credit hours per academic year (15 hours per fall and spring semesters). In addition, the Governor’s Scholarship covers general fees for 30 hours and a community-style (double occupancy) room with a 15-meal plan.
2. The full value of the President’s, University and Midwest Achievement Award is applied toward incidental fees.
3. Students receive the highest award for which they qualify. Awards are adjusted as new official test scores are received.

Financial Assistance
For the most consideration for federal, state and institutional aid, submit the Free Application for
Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.gov by mid-February to meet the March 1 priority deadline. Missouri residents who do not meet the March 1 deadline should submit the
FAFSA prior to April 1 to be considered for need-based aid from the state. Financial Aid
Award Notifications are sent to the student’s Southeast email address.
