Southern Cross Motors Limited (formerly Marunouchi Motors Ltd) is amongst one of the oldest and
most established firms in the Zambian Motor Trade, and was under one ownership ever since its start of
operations in 1955. First registered and located at the Chingola branch of the then Marunouchi
Manufacturing & Distributing Company Ltd in 1970 it has since been independently incorporated in
Zambia, under the same ownership and changed name to Marunouchi Motors Ltd in 1999. In 2000 a
complete premises was built and the company moved to the current location in Lusaka
In In 2005 the company was purchased 100% by the Isoquant Group. The name was changed from
Marunouchi Motors to Southern Cross Motors (SCM) in June 2005.
Situated in Lusaka , SCM are franchise holders and sole Zambian representatives for Mitsubishi Motors
(since the start of operations in 1955), as well as Mercedes Benz, (incorporating Freightliner, Fuso,
Western Star) Jeep, Chrysler, Doge, Fiat, & Fiat Professional. In addition to these franchises, SCM also
have the franchise for Great Wall Motors (GWM) and are a Sub-dealer of Nissan in the Copperbelt region
in Kitwe.
The hallmark of SCM is it’s individualized attention to customers and a scrupulous adherence to
professional standards. It is the firm conviction of the SCM Management that these are the surest
foundations for long-term success, often under adverse economic circumstances and in a business
environment where these virtues are not always prominent.
The confidence our Shareholders have in Zambia’s long-term prospects, is underlined by an extensive
investment program. A new MB showroom and office complex was completed in 2007, and an extensive
renovation and reconstruction of the Kitwe premises and parts stores was completed in 2015. This will
ultimately present a more ‘unified’ (i.e. combined sales and service function) appearance of the SCM
vehicle business.

1. SCM distributes Mercedes-Benz, Freightliner, Fuso, Mitsubishi, Chrysler Jeep, Dodge, Fiat and GWM. We
are also a Sub-Dealer for Nissan through our Kitwe Branch
2. Southern Cross Motors operates out of Lusaka and Kitwe with additional field support of services vans
and recovery vehicles
3. The Company is part of the Isoquant Group with Mr. Bob Crossley as the C.E.O

5. The Company employs over 190 staff in Zambia and is Managed by Mr. Tony Voorhout as General
Manager. We also have a well rounded and experienced management team overseeing the Sales,
Aftersales and day to day running of all departments within our business.
