Moving into 2014-‐’15
1. Online Access: – PowerSchool grade book (grades 3-‐6) – allows parents to see on-‐going student progress

2. Trimesters: Report cards issued 3 Fmes per year

• Standard Based Report Card… – Directly aligns with CCSS/NJCCCS – Measures how well a student is doing in relaFon to the grade level standards rather than the work of other students
– Provides parents with a comprehensive understanding of individual strengths and weaknesses
– Gives more specific informaFon about what students should know & be able to do throughout the trimester
Purpose The standards based
report card provides more detailed feedback to parents regarding the progress their child is making toward specific learning expectaKons at grade level.
The report card allows parents and students to understand more clearly what is expected of students and how to help them be successful in a rigorous academic program.

1. Developed pacing guides and units focused on CCSS in conjuncFon with the Model Curriculum
2. Teacher integraFon of CCSS into lesson plans 3. Professional development devoted to CCSS
4. Staff meeDngs to introduce trimesters and SB reporFng
Year 1 2014-‐15
• Trimesters and SB report cards go live K-‐2; trimesters (only) 3-‐6
• K-‐2 teachers will parFcipate in PD that addresses the trimester and SB iniFaFve throughout the school year
• ScIP will provide feedback on trimesters and SB reporFng
• Principal & IS will provide mulFple opportuniFes for parents to learn more about SB reporFng and trimesters including, but not limited to:
1. Informa*on session before the first reporFng
2. Comprehensive informaFon on the district web-‐site
3. Emails (or mailings) supplying informaFon about the switch
• Parent Survey
*All district teachers/administrators (K-‐5) will receive PD about SB repor*ng by May 2015

Year 3 2016-‐17
• Trimesters and SB report cards will be adopted in all grade levels K-‐5; trimesters ONLY will be adopted in grade 6.
• 3-‐5 teachers will parFcipate in PD that addresses the SB iniFaFve throughout the school year
• Principal & IS will provide mulFple opportuniFes for parents to learn more about SB reporFng and trimesters (refer to Year 1)
• Adjustments will be made as needed prior to the start of the school year.
• Professional development related to SB reporFng will be provided to all new staff
• District informaFon will conFnue to be updated via the website
