Dear Sisters in Beta Sigma Phi,
2017 is here! I can hardly believe it! The hustle and bustle of the Holidays has passed and we are now taking a
deep breath and relaxing. Our families have returned home and we are trying to get through all the leftovers.
Now we are looking forward to the New Year and making plans for 2017.
Are we going to keep in better touch with our family and friends? The hol-idays always remind us of how important our relationships are….and even after we make these resolutions…we forget or get busy and we don’t make
that call, write that letter or send the card.
Are our resolutions going to include being more active in our chapters and in SWHCC council? Beta Sigma Phi has played a very important part of
my life. During my many moves to Florida, Kentucky and eventually Texas….Beta Sigma Phi allowed me the opportunity to make new friends. Since then, difficult times in my life were supported by not only my chap-
ter but sisters in the SWHCC.
In opening a New Year….we pledge ourselves anew to the aims and pur-poses of our glorious sisterhood; more tolerance for our fellow beings
through better understanding of them. Blessings,
Bobbie

Winona LaBrant's husband, Marvin Smith, passed away Saturday Dec. 31, 2016. Marvin has been a great supporter of our chapter and Beta Sigma Phi for many, many years and we will all miss him.
December started with our chapter Christmas meeting and party. Janann G. hosted the meeting. Her
home was decorated beautifully and welcomed us with warm hugs. Members enjoyed great food and se-cret sister gifts.
December 18th, Janann and Rick, Marvin and Winona, Joyce and Jim, Joyce F, Grace W, Terry C. and Carole S enjoyed the Second Baptist Christmas Show and dinner at Carrabbas.
Terry C. spent the holidays in Dallas with her son Bob and his family. She received a "JJ Watt" doll for Christmas along with the rest of her goodies.
Grace W had a nice Christmas Eve lunch with daughter and family in from San Marcos.
Janann and Rick enjoyed having their kids and grandkids in for an early Christmas. It is always fun to watch the little ones enjoying their gifts. On the 26th, they drove up to Fort Worth to keep grandson
Grayson while his parents were working. Back home, they spent New Year's Eve with friends.

great time, and it was a nice break for them after moving into their retirement apartment on December 6th.
Joyce F enjoyed Christmas Eve with her daughter and grandson and granddaughter. Also, a friend and his three daughters joined in the fun.
Christmas morning, Santa had arrived, so gifts were enjoyed by the family. Then Christmas afternoon
was spent in Guy, TX at the new home of Joyce’s nephew. Joining in the food and good food were Joyce and all her family
Joyce F and coworkers enjoyed a Christmas lunch at
Taste of Texas hosted by their boss, Jane Costello, CPA.
Joyce F and her daughter, Deanna and grand-
son, Christopher and granddaughter, Anna.

Best wishes for a wonderful New Year ahead to all our sisters and their loved ones!! All the PN sisters were fortunate to be able to spend the holidays with family and friends.
The hustle and bustle of the holidays began with the Ugly Sweater Christmas Party where the PN sis-
ters had the time of their lives. Duang invited two great friends Barbara Kinkade and Fran Bachan, and Toni invited her lovely daughter Carielen.

Congratulations to our beloved sweetheart Toni Laas, who was crowned during our December Christ-mas Social and Sweetheart Revealing. The party was held in a private room at Lupe Tortilla and last
year’s sweetheart, Rana Baker, and her husband James passed the crown and Tiara to Toni and Lum. What a royal couple they are!! We wined and dined on delicious Mexican food while enjoying a hearten-ingly festive ambiance.
