StrategicPlan2025 TheStrategicPlan2025ofSouthwestTechnologyCenterisidentifiedthroughthreemajorkeyworksystems;growth,educationaltrainingandservices,andorganizationaleffectiveness.Viewpointsofthestakeholdersweresoughtthroughsurveysandfocusgroups:students,facultyandstaff,leadershipteam,boardmembers,partnerschools,businesscommunityandthecommunity-at-large. MultiplesurveyswerecreatedanduponcompletionoftheSWOTanalysistheadministrativestaffandfacultymembersnarroweddowntheopportunitiesforimprovement.Theseareasinclude:Growth,EducationandTrainingServices,andOrganizationalEffectiveness. Growthobjectivesinthisplanwillbeseenthroughmilestonesandgoalsaddressingtheexpansionofshort-termandfulltimeprograms,increasedenrollmentandexpansionoflocalrevenueandrevenuegeneratingservices. EducationandTrainingServicesgoalsaretocreateonline/blendedlearningenvironment,increaseretentionandplacementandincreasecollegecreditandcertificationsearnedinboth,short-termandfull-timeprograms. OrganizationalEffectivenessstrategicgoalsandmilestoneswillbeaddressedthroughsafetyandsecurity,increasedinternalcommunications,websitedevelopmentandinformationtechnologyadvancements.

EachstakeholdergroupwasaskedtheUltimateQuestion:Onascaleof1-10howlikelyisitthatyouwouldrecommendSWTCtoyourfamilyandfriends?Telluswhyyouscoredusthewayyoudid?

SWTCisoneofthesmallest29TechnologyCentersinOklahoma,butprovidestrainingopportunitiescomparabletoeventhelargestschools.SWTChasonecampusat711W.TamarackRoadandanoffcampusprogramlocatedintheSouthwestTechnologyCenterhangerattheAltus/QuartzMountainRegionalAirport. SWTChasdevelopedextremelypositiverelationshipswiththepartnerschoolsinthedistrictplusmanyotherbusinessessuchAAFB,WOSC,andCityofAltus.ThepartnershipwithAltusAirForceBasethroughthe“GrowYourOwnMechanic”programhasservedasamodelforotherschoolsstateandnationwide,andisathrivingprogramwhichisastrengthofSWTC. Throughcreativeapplicationofnewtechnologiesandmanagementofresources,SWTChasbeenabletomaximizeimpactonnotonlyforstudents,buttheeconomicwell-beingofthecommunitiesserved. Thisplanismeanttoevolveasstudent,clientandeconomicneedsarise.FortheoverallgoalofCareerTechistotrainaskilledworkforce,supportlocalbusinessandindustryalongsidelocaleconomicdevelopmentdemands.
SWTCistheonlyCaeerTechinthestatewithoutabuildingfund.Implementationofthisplanishighlyinfluencedbyfundingavailabilitytothedistrict.
