UNIFIED COUNCIL 8

To be a leader in providing professional

service in testing & assessment , our goal must be

achieved in accordance with our philosophy. We

believe everything we do must be based on :

■ Strengthening fundamental principles.

■ Development, growth, involvement and

recognition of students' achievements.

■ Quality services to students, Parents,

Institutions and Schools.

We believe in Mind over matter !

Aristotle was asked how much the educated

were superior to the uneducated and he said, "as

much as the living are to the dead". That is the

significance of education, which leads us from

darkness to light. In this world, everything has its

distinct quality like flowers are imbibed with

fragrance, fruits with flavour and a candle

for its quality of spreading light. In the same way,

man is also endowed with some inherent and innate

powers, which can be exposed through education.

Education must make our people wise and

equipped to understand and solve the problems of

the world.

That calls for conceptual clarity and depth of

knowledge.

Today, one can observe a disturbing trend

among students. They answer questions without

seeking to understand them. They rarely seek

clarifications or admit ignorance.

Correcting this state of affairs doesn't need huge

investments, it needs a new approach. We must use

imagination while setting examination papers,

including questions which provoke students and

force them to think. We must move from what to

why, when to how.

In short, the need of the hour is to shift from

remembering to understanding, accepting to

The raison d'etre - to unearth the

hidden talent in the younger

generation, making them

fundamentally stronger and more

competitive. Thus paving the way

for a prosperous nation, for the

future lies in the hands of the

younger generation.

questioning and reading to reflecting. Students need

to understand basic concepts, but they also need to

think, reflect and enquire. Unified Council's

programmes are designed to achieve the same.

Unified Council provides educational

programmes, services and environment that enable

students to realise their personal potential for higher

achievement through strongly grounded

fundamentals.

The Council eminently concentrates upon

training young minds through numerous challenging

programmes designed to allow students to take ideas

from concept to completion.

The common denominator among this wide

range of programmes, is an understanding of the

fundamentals of education and the attention and

reception of applied tools. The Council offers an array

of structured programmes, each of which emphasize

the principles and aspects of strong fundamentals

while educating new and easy learning techniques.

Unified Council is committed to the right to

'quality education'. It has a widespread network of

dedicated work force geared to reach to students all

across the country. The objective being - if there is a

student, Unified Council must reach out to him,

Unified Council advocates the cause of quality

education through integrity and social responsibility.

After much debate and discussions, the

educational experts at unified council designed and

develope various educational programmes to

strengthen students' skills and cultivate their talents

to meet the needs of changing educational trends.

These educational professionals, marked by technical

excellence and originality, bring the best practices of

their professions into unified council and broaden

its intellectual reserve and vast pool of skills.

What's distinctive about us, compared to

the other programmes in the country, is how well

integrated our educated programmes are into the

lives of the students.

We incroporate the latest findings from the

research studies on educational assessment,

formative assessment techniques, etc. to equip the

younger generation for future needs.

The only institution of its kind in the country,

Unified Council is respected and appreciated for its

comprehensive study capsule guides, SUCCESS SERIES

BOOKS, which it provides free to all students taking

the NSTSE & SLSTSE programmes. These books have

been conceived after much retrospection on students

requirements.

SUCCESS SERIES BOOKS (Passport to Knowledge Republic -

I & II, Success Plan Jr., Success Plan, Success Plan Plus, Success

Senior, Success Wizard, Success Unlimited, Blue Print) help

students to leverage their academic performance and

equip them with various psychological tools to face

the reality of the future. These books comprise of

numerous study techniques such as :

❙ Effective Learning Techniques.

❙ How to Remember in a Better Way.

❙ Effective Revision approach.

❙ Mind Mapping Technique.

❙ Mnemonics.

❙ Faster and Efficient Reading Techniques.

❙ Mnemonics, both Peg & Link Methods of memory.

❙ Relaxation Techniques i.e., Alpha Breathing Technique

& Progressive Relaxation Technique.

A determined team comprising of

educational professionals who formulate the

question papers, coordinators who reach numerous

schools with resolution and an efficient administrative

staff is our unique strength. The team's constant

efforts and systematic planning has helped to reach

out to schools and study centres all over the country,

wherein this year over 3,50,000 students have taken

the NSTSE - 2010, over 90,000 students have taken

the UCO - 2009 and over 70,000 have taken the

SLSTSE - 2010 from the state of Andhra Pradesh. Over

the years, there has been a constant rise in

participation as well as the performance of students

in the Unified Council's programmes.

The Council makes use of ultra modern

technology such as Optical Mark Recognition (OMR)

equipment to evaluate the answer papers for

proficiently assessing students' performance.

In order to better understand one's

performance, Unified Council has been preparing

comprehensive statistical reports such as the

Individual School Report (ISR), which distinguishes

the subject wise performance of a school in relation

to the overall performance of other schools nation

wide, the General School Report (GSR) that provides

class wise response for all questions, summary reports,

students response to difficult questions in the form

of Ogive graphs and Histogram and the Student's

Performance Report (SPR) which gives individual

student's response for each and every question and

his performance in relation to the other participants.

All these reports are helpful for schools as

well as students to better understand and assess their

responses, thereby making know of their strong and

weak areas. This exercise of ours has been greatly

appreciated and thanked for, thus making our

endeavour meaningful and satisfying.

These reports are first of Its kind in India,

setting Global standards in

Educational Services.
