RegistrationAll delegates are required to register at the Registration Counter, located outside the Lecture Hall and Exhibition Hall on Level 3 with the given registration confirmation. The Malaysian Medical Association (MMA) mobile application allows you to keep track of your CPD points as well as provide you a unique QR code which event organisers can scan to record your attendance at the Registration counter. Lunch AreaLunch will be served at the rear section of the Exhibition Hall (Cashmere Ballroom) on Level 3.
ParkingParking is complimentary for guests staying in The Zenith Hotel, Kuantan who may validate their tickets at the reception counter. For delegates who are not staying in-house, the parking fee at the venue is a flat rate of RM 6 per entry. No validation is required.
Prayer RoomThe prayer room for Muslim delegates is located at Level 2.
Nearest MosqueThe nearest mosque is Masjid Tepian Putra Kuantan, which is an 8-minute walk from the conference venue.
The easiest route to the mosque is through the East Coast Mall and Kuantan City Mall.

Dear Colleagues,
The Malaysian Arthroscopy Society (MAS) has been busy preparing and initiating a variety of educational activities to be held in the North, South, Central, East Coast and East regions of Malaysia. We continue in realising our society’s goals to promote, encourage, support and foster through continuing medical education functions; the development and dissemination of knowledge in the discipline of arthroscopic surgery to improve upon the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and injuries of the musculoskeletal system.
While you may get updates on our activities from our website, I would like to take this opportunity to highlight our annual conference. It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the 6th MAS Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) and Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2018 here in Kuantan from the 26th to 28th of October 2018. This year’s meeting theme is a unique one, Take a Knee to HeƏl, in which we address issues in areas that many Malaysian arthroscopy surgeons specialise in and we believe is the reason many of you are here today. The 6th MAS ASM 2018 Organising Committee, under the leadership of Dato’ Dr Badrul Akmal Hisham Md Yusoff, and the Scientific Committee helmed by Assoc Prof Dr Nik Mohd Fatmy Nik Mohd Najmi and Dr Harjeet Singh, have worked tirelessly in putting together a comprehensive and extensive scientific programme that would benefit your practice.
Kuantan, Pahang is considered by many to be the gateway to the East Coast of Malaysia. Many travellers often make a stop in Kuantan before making their way to scenic beach destinations for their holidays. After the meeting, do enjoy the coastal delights the town offers, which is bound to be an enjoyable experience with your peers or with your family.

Foreword From The Organising Chairman OfThe 6th MAS ASM 2018
I would like to welcome each and every member of the Arthroscopy fraternity in Malaysia, including Trainees, who have joined us here at the 6th Malaysian Arthroscopy Society Annual Scientific Meeting (MAS ASM) 2018.
We appreciate the feedback we have received over the years in regard to our annual conference and have focused on fine-tuning the meeting to suit the local community, while at the same time maintaining international meeting standards. This year, the theme we have chosen is one that many arthroscopy surgeons in Malaysia have chosen to specialise in, namely the knee and ankle. From the committee’s experience and as seen in international arthroscopy meetings, this area is experiencing many developments and advancements. As such, we have provided you with sessions that ideally encompass the latest findings and updates on the specific areas of Knee and Ankle surgery. With the expertise of Dr Harjeet Singh and Assoc Prof Dr Nik Mohd Fatmy Nik Mohd Najmi as Scientific Chairmen for this meeting, I believe that over the next three days, you will experience a great selection of lectures that we hope inspire your practice.
We are glad to have you join us for this installment of our annual meeting in the East Coast. We trust that you will not only receive an education during this period, but also be able to enjoy the fascinating sights and sounds that the capital of Pahang has to offer, from the coastal scenery of Cempedak Bay and nearby Cherating Beach to local delicacies unique to the town.

2018 marks the inception of the Azmi Abdul Latif Award, an award presented to the winner of what was known in previous years as the Best Free Paper Oral Presentation Award. The award aims to recognise the best example of clinical or scientific research done in the field of arthroscopy in Malaysia.
The recipient, first and second runner-up will be awarded a certificate and cash prize during this meeting. The award is generously sponsored by its namesake, Col (R) Dr Azmi Abdul Latif, a former council member of the Malaysian Arthroscopy Society and respected Orthopaedic Surgeon, currently practicing in Hospital Pusrawi Kuala Lumpur.
