Security in the Engineering Information app requires the part number that a supplier is attempting to retrieve a drawing or spec for must be assosciated with an open Purchase Order, Scheduling Agreement (SA), or RFQ to view Engineering Information for a given part number.
The part number entered for search must be an exact match to the part number on the purchase document.
Only the users that meet the following criteria will be approved to retrieve Engineering Drawing or Speification (other than the rev letter of the specification:
U.S. Person
Work Location = U.S
Vendor Location = U.S.
Suppliers and Supplier Admins can view the permissions (including Drawing and Specification permission) that have been assigned to the logon ID by using the process described in the section titled: ‘Logon / Verify Permissions’ that is included in the this standard work document.

4.3. Troubleshooting issues with the Engineering Information app
The following will help answer some common questions regarding the Engineering Informatin app.
4.3.1 Supplier does not have access to Engineering Information.
Suppliers and Supplier Admins can view the permissions (including Drawing and Specification permission) using the process described in the section titled: ‘Logon / Verify Permissions’ that is included in this standard work document.
If the supplier does not have access to the permission and requires it, click the “How can I change these permissions?” link.
NOTE: Only suppliers who meet the following criteria will be approved for the application:
1) The user must be a U.S. Person. The verification is processed by the supplier admin. 2) That has a work location of U.S. The user must be accessing Engineering Information from a US
location. 3) The vendor location is physically in the U.S.
In accordance with International Trade Commission (ITC), we are unable to grant Non-US Persons access to engineering information in the Supplier Portal. If you require access to this information, the preferred process for sending technical data to users that cannot retrieve documents on the supplier portal is Content Server. Content Server is a document library used by UTAS and suppliers to share Confidential and Technical information. Information regarding the Content Server is located on the eSolutions SharePoint site: https://global.utas.utc.com/sites/SCM_eSolutions/Pages/Home.aspx.
4.3.2 The drawing or specification is not available on the portal.
The supplier number must have an open PO, Scheduling Agreement (SA), or RFQ to view Engineering Information for a given part number. Request that the buyer:
Check in SAP / ECC to ensure the part exists on one of the open doc types shown above, and the PO, SA, or RFQ is valid (not expired) and is associated with the supplier number that the supplier ID has permission to view.
Check that the drawing or spec is available internally at UTAS in Via Search or the application used to retrieve these type documents from Team Center. If the drawing or spec is not available internally, it will need to be retrieved from engineering and sent to the supplier via Content Server. Content Server is a document library used by UTAS and suppliers to share Confidential and

Technical information. Information regarding the Content Server is located on the eSolutions SharePoint site: https://global.utas.utc.com/sites/SCM_eSolutions/Pages/Home.aspx.
If an engineering document has not yet been import/export classified, the document cannot be viewed on the UTAS Supplier Portal.
If the drawing or spec is available internally from Team Center, Contact UTAS Engineering Support to have the drawing or spec loaded, or open a quote in SAP/ECC to the supplier number to create the necessary association of part number / document.
If the part number cannot be added to one of the allowed SAP document types, the internal user can send the drawing or specification to the supplier using the Content Server app. Content Server is a document library used by UTAS and suppliers to share Confidential and Technical information. Information regarding the Content Server is located on the eSolutions SharePoint site: https://global.utas.utc.com/sites/SCM_eSolutions/Pages/Home.aspx.
4.3.3 The ‘Search For’ box is not visible to the supplier
If the supplier is using the IE11 (Internet Explorer) browser, and do not see the “Search For” criteria and buttons displayed in the upper right corner of the screen, they may need to adjust their IE Compatibility View Settings. Instruction for adjusting their IE Compatibility View Settings is included in this standard work document. The section is titled: Internet Explorer (IE) Compatibility View Settings (see below).
4.3.4 A specification number is input, it is not found.
There is no search on Specification name. Instead, the supplier must inquire on the part number that the specification is called out on. All the specs related to the part number will be returned and will be displayed. If a specification is listed on the engineering drawing but is not returned on the drawing search screen, the buyer must make sure the specification exists in team center.
4.3.5 The supplier cannot find the Manufacturers Part Number (MPN) in the Bill of Material section
Internal users (UTAS buyers) can look up in SAP the Manufacturers Part Number part number by using the T-code ZQM_MPN_DISP. Contact Quality for any needed additions or changes to the file.
4.3.6 The supplier states that the latest revision of the drawing or spec in the Engineering Information app does match the revision on the PO.
The supplier can find the latest revision letters of either the list of Drawings, or the Bill of Material. If the latest revision is not on the portal, the buyer can check UTAS’ team center to ensure the latest revision is loaded. If it is not available internally in team center, the buyer can contact Engineering Records to find the issue. If the latest revision is available on the portal but not on the PO, the buyer can update the PO with the latest revision or discuss the reason for the disconnect with the supplier.
5. EXCEPTIONS TO THE STANDARD WORK
The capability to view Drawing or Specification documents on the UTAS Supplier Portal is limited to “U.S. persons”, as defined by UTAS Trade Compliance. If a supplier is requesting that they need access to view technical information, please communicate the following:
In accordance with International Trade Commission (ITC), we are unable to grant Non-US Persons access to engineering information in the Supplier Portal. If you require access to this information, please consult with your buyer to gain access to Content Server. In this situation, you will get the following error after entering your challenge question response:
5.1. Internet Explorer (IE) Compatibility View Settings
