Male lungs weigh on average 1060 grams, while female lungs average 930

grams

The lungs are the largest organ in the body and the only internal organ

exposed to the external environment

Each day an average person breathes about 25,000 times, and by the time a

person reaches 70 years old, they will have taken at least 600 million breaths

Transports oxygen from the atmosphere into the bloodstream, and to release carbon dioxide from the bloodstream

into the atmosphere.

4:2 - How to Keep your Lungs Healthy

Walking about 15 minutes at a time, three

people with emphysema, a lung disease.

Exercise that makes your heart beat faster, like

climbing stairs, riding a bike, or walking briskly, is

very important for keeping your heart and

lungs in good shape
