KVM Switch SolutionControl multiple PCs from a single console
SP2144-port OSD KVM Switch
Micronet KVM switch provides you control multiple CPUs from a single console. It allows you manage many PCs
via a console consist. This consist involves three main components: Keyboard, Video, and Mouse. SP214 and
SP218 within multiple ports KVM switch. Both devices allow a user to easily access any of the connected CPUs via
a simple switching action that can be accomplished by a mechanical pushbutton or an OSD (on screen display)
menu.
Reduce The Number of Heat-Producing Peripherals - KVM switches are also known as Server Switches. SP214
and SP218 are ideal for server rooms where computers are less frequently accessed, but occasionally need to be
monitored and maintained. KVM switch reduce the number of heat-producing peripherals and provide the most
efficient way to control and monitor many server computers.
Remotely Switch - KVM switches are suitable for any application where a user needs to operate several computers
at the same time. Accessory KVM products are available to provide extended cabling distances and console signal
conversion. A control room operator could remotely switch between multiple computers located throughout a
production area. Other applications for KVM switches include helpdesks, classrooms, assembly lines, desktop
publishing, farms, etc.

Application example. Control multiple CPUs from a single console.
Micronet SP214/SP218 KVM Switch connects your PCs to one set of Keyboard,
Video and Mouse. Press the push button to switch the control and monitor between
many server computers.
Micronet KVM Switch Solution - Control multiple
Benefits of Micronet’s KVM SwitchesSP214 allows 4-set and SP218 allows 8-set of keyboards, monitors
and mice to be replaced with a single set of control peripherals.
Besides the principle cost and power savings of multiple sets of
redundant peripherals, the end-user also benefits from increased
desktop space, and saves time and physical effort moving between
several computers that may be installed in various locations.
High compatibility
Two types of power supply
Supported high VGA resolution
Each port of switch can automatically identify monitor model
Cascadable system capability
Smooth the switching process -
1. No keyboard and mouse lockups and ensure smooth,
flawless switching
2. Supported cable distance from switch to console up to 35
meters and up to 30 meters from console to computer
3. No interrupts by the instability of computers
More convenient operating interface -
1. Individual push button for each computer
2. Operation of any mix of computers running and operating
system
3. Definition of hot key commands
4. Design of on-screen display menu
Press <Scroll Lock>+<Scroll Lock>, the menu will pop up
to the screen.
KVM Glossary
OSD menus
On-screen display (OSD) menus allow theproper PC to be easily selected bychoosing the proper computer from an on-screen list. Each computer can be given aunique menu name to make it easier toidentify.
Coaxial Cable
It includes one physical channel that carriesthe signal surrounded (after a layer ofinsulation) by another concentric physicalchannel, both running along the sameaxis. The outer channel serves as aground. Many of their cables or pairs ofcoaxial tubes can be placed in a singleouter sheathing and, with repeaters, cancarry information for a great distance.
Resolution
On screen, resolution is expressed as amatrix of dots. For example, the VGAresloution of 800x600 means 800 dots(pixels) across each of the 600 lines.Monitor size and resolution depend on theapplicaitons you run. The higher theresolution, the more viewable material onscreen at one time. For standard Windowsapplications, 1024 x 768 is the desiredresolution wiht at least a 17” monitor. A19” or 20” monitor is better yet.
<Scroll Lock>+<Scroll Lock>
We have found that many applicationsoftware use <Ctrl>+<x> as a Hot Keyto excute some commands. If KVM switchstill use <Ctrl>+<x> as a Hot Key, it willconflict with the monitoring CPU’scommand. In Micronet’s KVM Switch, wedesign <Scroll Lock>+<Scroll Lock> asthe on-screen menu start up key. Thus itwon’t conflict with most of software’s HotKey then you don’t worry about the HotKey command to make an impropercontrol on the monitoring CPU.

High Quality KVM CableSpecial design to reduce RF interference
The video cable is compliance with standard UL2919. It reduces the
RF interference and provides a very important role in the quality of the
communication between the computers and the KVM Switch.
The copper-made pins with gold-plated reduce the oxidation problem
and enhance the connection much better than the normal copper-
made pins.
Longer distance connection and less signal decay
Micronet’s C200 series cable use high quality copper wire which
reduces the decay of signal and let the distance from switch to
computer can be longer than other brands. This benifit let the
arrangement in the MIC central office more flexible and don’t worry
about the monitoring performance.
