Shop Support Capabilities Shop capabilities include the manufacture of aircraft spares,
component remanufacture and composite repairs. IMP’s non-
destructive testing capability is Transport Canada approved and
includes fluorescent dye penetrant, ultrasonic, eddy-current,
radiographic and magnetic particle inspection. IMP’s paint
hangar is equipped to accommodate large aircraft and utilizes
sophisticated paint systems that meet or exceed today’s strict
environmental and safety standards.

Maintenance & ModificationsIMP’s program management team maintains
the capability to manage heavy maintenance
programs, mid-life upgrades or special
missionization projects on a variety of fixed and
rotary wing aircraft.
Under the Aurora Incremental Modernization
Project (AIMP), IMP Aerospace supports the
integrated design and installation of new avionics
and mission systems for the CP-140 Aurora
aircraft fleet. IMP also provides kit manufacturing
as well as configuration control, life cycle
management, modification and upgrade of
aircraft systems.
IMP has established unique capabilities to
perform major aircraft structural upgrades
including the CP-140/P-3 ASLEP (Aircraft Service
Life Extension Program). This mid-life upgrade
incorporates the removal and replacement of
major aircraft components on the P-3 aircraft.
IMP’s recognized capabilities and experience
have also attracted a number of international
customers including the Royal Norwegian
Air Force (RNoAF), US Navy, US Forest
Service, US National Oceanic and
Atmospheric Administration (NOAA),
and Aero Union Corporation.
In-Service Support ProgramsIMP provides full in-service support (ISS) services
for Canada’s CP-140 Aurora and CH-124 Sea
King fleets. In addition, IMP is the prime ISS
contractor for Canada’s fleet of AgustaWestland
(AW-101) CH-149 “Cormorant” search and
rescue helicopters. Responsibilities include:
• all first, second, and third line maintenance• airworthiness• engineering• configuration control• logistics• technical training• fleet management
Program management activities are coordinated
by IMP’s Cormorant Support Centre located in
Halifax Stanfield International Airport.
In support of the new C-130J Hercules program,
IMP Aerospace is contracted by Lockheed
Martin to provide Material Warehousing
services at 8 Wing CFB Trenton, as well as
the development and sustainment of aircraft
technical publications.
IMP also provides in-service support to the CT-
114 Tutor at 8 Wing CFB Trenton including aircraft
modifications and maintenance. The CT-114 Tutor
is flown by the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) air
demonstration team - the Snowbirds.

Cascade is a leading Canadian aerospace and defence contractor with over 650 skilled professionals supporting military and civilian aircraft programs. Headquartered in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Cascade also has operations in Trenton and Ottawa, Ontario.
Cascade Aerospace is Canada’s C-130 Hercules aircraft
Center of Excellence. Our highly skilled and dedicated
workforce are focused on achieving customer satisfaction and
providing value.
Principal operations in Abbotsford include a 230,000 square
foot facility with airside access to the International Airport.
The facility was built in 2000 and is designed and equipped
to accommodate eight narrow-body aircraft and includes
overhead cranes for easy removal of engines, tails and
stabilizers.
Cascade Aerospace is focused on providing long-term
integrated aircraft support programs for Original Equipment
Manufacturers (OEMs), military, government and commercial
customers. Cascade is the prime contractor to the Royal
Canadian Air Force (RCAF) on the Lockheed Martin C-130/
L382/L100 as well as the C-130J Hercules aircraft. In
addition to providing structural and modification engineering &
maintenance support on these military aircraft fleets, Cascade
is also responsible for all in-service support and modifications
to the avionics and related software, maintenance and
configuration management.
Cascade Aerospace
Cascade Aerospace is a Lockheed Martin Authorized C-130 Service Centre and a C-130J Heavy Maintenance Centre
Program Management and In-Service Support
Cascade is experienced in managing In Service Support (ISS) programs and has developed a world-class network of specialty vendors to support C-130 aircraft operations. As a C-130 ISS provider to Canada, Cascade Aerospace plays a pivotal role in maintaining mission readiness, enabling the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) to respond to their domestic and international missions.
Cascade’s in-service support responsibilities includes, fleet management, aircraft modification, engineering, maintenance, and repair and overhaul. Cascade has designed and embodied more than 50 different modifications to address obsolete systems, airworthiness and durability of the C-130 aircraft. Cascade also performs major C-130 aircraft sustainment projects, and is one of the few organizations capable of replacing a C-130 center wing section.
Cascade’s mature processes have been achieved through years of carrying out numerous heavy maintenance checks and
major modifications for military and commercial C-130 operators. As well, Cascade relies on the strength of our certified project management professionals who help ensure programs stay on time and on budget.
For the C-130J, Cascade provides in service support services under a multi-year contract with Lockheed Martin. Cascade is one of only two Lockheed Martin-authorized C-130 Heavy Maintenance Centers in the world, and is also a Lockheed Martin-authorized C-130 Service Center.

IMP Electronic Systems
IMP Electronic Systems’ 43,000 square-foot facility offers clients 40 years of experience in electrical wire harness design and assembly. The operation is AS9100 certified and offers a comprehensive manufacture and repair facility for avionics, instruments, electronic components and flight control systems.
Significant capital investments in laser wire marking
equipment, automatic test systems, environmental
control chambers, and ERP systems have further
expanded IMP Electronic Systems’ capabilities and efficiencies.
Continuous Improvement processes ensure that metrics and
productivity targets are monitored and achieved leading to the
overall reduction of lead times, cost as well as improved turn
around times on repaired units.
Resident engineering staff work directly with clients on the
design, specification, and certification of electronic systems for
aerospace and defence applications.
With increasing demand for the modernization and life extension
of aging strategic aircraft, IMP Electronic Systems supports
these requirements through the provision of wire harness kits
and avionics components solutions to most major OEMs,
including Sikorsky, Lockheed Martin, L-3 Communications and
Boeing Defence as well as to aircraft operators such as the Royal
Canadian Air Force (RCAF) directly.

Repair and OverhaulIMP maintains and manufactures a wide range

Defence. IMP is Transport Canada approved as
an Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO)
for the manufacture and repair and overhaul of

IMP Electronic Systems is the sole licensee
for Hamilton Sundstrand flight control systems
on the Sikorsky S-61 “Sea King” and S76
helicopters, and provides worldwide support
to all commercial and military operators of
those platforms, including new component
manufacture, repair and overhaul, and
engineered solutions to address parts
obsolescence and performance enhancements.

MH-60 “Seahawk” RAST & BladefoldSince 2007, IMP Electronic Systems has
manufactured new RAST (Recovery, Assist,
Secure and Traverse) and Bladefold control
boxes for the MH-60 helicopter under license to
Sikorsky. Over 500 units have been manufactured
and certified since the program launch. Both the
RAST and Bladefold control boxes have in excess
of 200 unique components and are subject to
complete electrical, environmental and functional
test. As well, IMP is approved for the maintenance
and support of these units by the US Navy as well
as Sikorsky.
Space ProgramsIMP Electronic Systems maintains a unique
capability in both Canadian and International
space programs. Engineers in this facility
contributed on numerous space programs for
the design, development and qualification of
high reliability electrical wire harnesses. These
programs include:• Canada’s contribution to the International
Space Station• MSAT (Mobile Satellite)• RADARSAT• James Webb Space Telescope (JWST)• the RADARSAT Constellation Mission
(RCM).
IMP Electronic Systems’ responsibilities
included the design, qualification and
manufacture of the Bus Subsystem Wire
Harness for the RCM program. This three-
satellite constellation will provide extensive high
resolution earth observation capabilities to 95%
of the globe on a daily basis.
IMP Electronic Systems, in
cooperation with ComDev, also
provided the design, qualification
and manufacture of spaceflight
wire harnesses for the James
Webb Space Telescope’s
(JWST) Fine Guidance System.
These space harnesses were
built in a strictly controlled clean
room environment meeting
IEST-STD-CC1246D Level 200
contamination requirements.
IMP has also manufactured and
installed major payload harness
subsystems for MDA Corp on
an international commercial
satellite program. These harness
subsystems required 28,000
electrical connections per payload
system. All harnesses were
assembled using concurrent
manufacturing techniques on an
IMP developed full scale 3-D mock
ups (the largest being 5 Metres X
3 Metres X 2 Metres) and accurate
to +/- 2mm.
IMP Electronic Systems maintains
unique facilities for the assembly
and testing of space hardware including a FED
STD 209 Class 10,000 (ISO 14644-1 Class
7) Clean Room equipped with specialized
particulate filtering and monitoring systems.
Technical personnel are continually re-certified
to NASA-STD-8739-3 and NASA-STD-8739-4
workmanship standards.
AS9100 Registered Facility and Operations
Remote Manipulator Arm
The CH149 Cormorant (AW101/EH101) has successfully
performed Canadian Search and Rescue (SAR) operations
since 2000. Operating from Main Operating Bases in
Gander, Greenwood, and Comox, as well as the Cormorant
Support Centre within IMP facilities in Halifax, IMP provides
24/7 fully comprehensive, turn-key In-Service Support (ISS)
to the RCAF fleet of CH149 (EH101) Cormorant Helicopters.
Almost two hundred IMP personnel are dedicated to the
Cormorant Search and Rescue Helicopter (CSH) Program
across Canada. Our complete ISS includes:

IMP Aerostructures operates from a 140,000 square
foot facility and is highly vertically integrated offering
a total capability for sheet metal forming, processing
and finishing capabilities, advanced composites
manufacturing, precision CNC 5-axis machining and full
assembly capabilities. In-house NDT, Tool design and
CATIA workstations supported by a modern ORACLE
OneWorld ERP management system complete the total
offerings of this operation.

IMP Naval & Land ServicesHistory of Support to Military Requirements For over 65 years, IMP Aerospace & Defence has been
providing support to Canada’s military, and to those
of other nations, beginning with support to the Royal
Canadian Navy’s (RCN) Fleet Air Arm in 1948.
Broad Range of Capabilities The company has an exceptionally broad range of
capabilities as shown opposite. Our experience ranges
from RCN, United States Navy and Royal Navy UK Type
23 Frigates, to Canadian Army Light Armoured Vehicles,
