Solar System. You will be required to plan

for your trip, then travelling there to record

information for NASA to use on their future

expeditions.In this booklet you will find all the

information you need to complete your

Aim: You are required to produce an informationreport, and a presentation about the planet NASA has

given you to study.

For the written component; you must write an

information report (see the section How to write an

information report for help). You have to hand in an

individual report about your planet. This should be atleast 2 pages long and use proper paragraphs,

headings and be edited properly with a reference list.

For your spoken/visual presentation: Your group

will have to give a speech to the other 5/6 Astronauts

and you should choose a visual way to present your

information making it interesting to them!

You can choose in which way that you present your

newly found knowledge to your fellow astronauts. But

one thing you must include is a map of your planet and

where it is located in the Solar System.

For example:

Models

Webpage

Animation

Museum Exhibit

These are just examples, you can think of your own

the SKY is the LIMIT! The way you work on this project

using this booklet and the way you work as a team is a

great practice for this years Exhibition!

As an astronaut you will have to prepare

for your journey! When you find out theanswers to the following questions,

make sure you write the answers in your

own words (NO COPY AND PASTE

ALLOWED!)

sure you have time to talk at thebeginning and end of each session. If

you find something that will help

someone answer a question, make sure

you write down the reference and give it

to them at the end of the session!

Information Report.

You have to find out1. Where your planet is located in the Solar

System? (What planets is it next to, how

far away from the Sun is it?), a map should

be part of your display.

3. How long it takes to revolve around the

Sun (How long is its year?)

4. What the atmosphere (air) is made of? Weneed to know what breathing equipment to

take!

5.What temperature is it? Is it different on

different parts of the planet?

6. What is the ground made up of? Have any

scientists found out know what the inside

of the planet looks like? Maybe you willneed special equipment to help you

7.How many moons (if any), does it have?

8.Are there any special features on your

planet?

9.Has there been any space expeditions or

satellites sent to your planet before?Describe them! If not, are there future

plans to send some?

10.Would you consider it an alternative planet

to live on if the Earth was destroyed?

Describe why or why not? This question

will have to be done as a team afterall the other questions have been

answered!

Make sure you write full and very detailed

answers! One or two sentences are NOT

ENOUGH! Each person in the group should

answer three questions!
