The Worlds First ATEX Cleaning System!

SpaceVac are celebrating a major world-first, after their range of high-level cleaning systems became the first cleaning systems of their kind, anywhere in the world, to be certified for use within ATEX explosive atmospheres.

This exciting opportunity represents a major coup for the company – consolidating their position as the market leaders for high-level cleaning systems.

Explosive atmospheres can be caused when flammable gases, mists, vapours or combustible dusts build up in confined spaces. If there is enough of the substance, mixed with air, then all is needed, is a source of ignition to cause an explosion. The consequences – as seen at the Bosely Mill disaster in 2015 – can be dire and its with safety at heart that the SpaceVac team began developing their groundbreaking ATEX system.

The SpaceVac ATEX system (which has been granted a worldwide patent) has been certified for use in explosive atmospheres after independent tests found that the system was completely conductive. This means that everything from the anti-static brushes and accessories and carbon-fibre poles, through to the high-powered wet and dry vacuum units are guaranteed not to spark.

The system can be used in both M Class and H Class dust and ATEX Zones 1,2, 21 & 22 explosive dust environments – a first for any high-level cleaning system. This is achieved using brushless long life ignition-source-free EC motors and a built-in Flow Sensor that monitors air speed in the suction hose to make sure that is doesn’t go below the minimum 20 m/s ATEX requirement.

Case Study - Bushboard

THE ISSUE

- Bushboards advised that hazardous, high level dust (Explosive 22) should be removed.

- Restricted access, stock value, hidden sprinkler systems, too difficult for AVIVA to source suitable contractor.

THE SOLUTION

- The SpaceVac Type 22 ATEX (Atmosphere Explosive) system removed the particles and in turn, the problem.

- SpaceVac spent four weeks 6 hours a night removing the soil

- Zero disruption to Bushboard equipment, staff, or productivity.

Interior Cleaning

SpaceVac are the world’s leading manufacturer of high-level vacuum cleaning and inspection systems.

Higher No need to hire expensive access equipment like scaffolding or cherry pickers. Areas up to 12m high can be cleaned from ground level.

Safer The health & safety issues normally associated with working at height are minimised or completely removed.

Faster No constant moving of ladders or access equipment means effective cleaning in a fraction of the time compared to traditional methods.

Ø SpaceVac Interior systems are compact and highly mobile interior high-level vacuum cleaning system that offers an excellent combination of performance and value for money. They can effectively clean areas up to 7.5 metres high, including awkward and previously inaccessible areas, with no loss in suction power. Additional poles can be attached to increase reach up to 12 metres.

Ø Continuous Research & Development has led to a range of systems, including a diverse range of accessories and 38mm or 50mm carbon composite poles; all featuring our unique ‘push clip mechanism’ rather than the inferior ‘friction fit’ system employed by our competitors.

Ø The low working 59dB noise level adds to the flexibility of the SpaceVac systems meaning they can be used with others nearby without disturbing them.

Exterior Cleaning

The SpaceVac systems offer high power, high volume cleaning and our high-level vacuum and inspection systems offer an excellent combination of high performance and affordability for all internal and external situations up to 14 metres high (5 storeys).

Ø Designed for industrial and commercial cleaning applications, the SpaceVac systems integrate lightweight yet durable 50mm diameter carbon composite poles with a high power, high volume wet & dry vacuum unit and specialist tools for cleaning.

Ø 9 years of Research & Development has led to a market leading range of systems, including a diverse range of accessories all featuring our unique ‘push clip mechanism’ rather than the inferior ‘friction fit’ system employed by our competitors.

Ø All of our systems come with a sophisticated camera monitoring system included. The camera transmits live high quality video to an LCD monitor mounted on the poles.

Specialist Cleaning Services

The Industrial and commercial environment can present a particular and sometimes unique cleaning challenge; due to access issues, confined or high spaces and the nature of the processes involved and the by-products that need to be cleaned away and removed for both internal and external areas.

Our experienced and highly trained operatives are proficient and qualified to provide cleaning in the most inaccessible areas, being able to perform works at height, in confined spaces and in areas requiring breathing apparatus or the use of specialist access equipment or platforms and requiring High Pressure Water Blasting Techniques.

The operatives of SVT Group Specialised Industrial Services are fully trained for the specialist activities to be undertaken and their training includes:
