Overview of the country• Spain, is a country and member state

of the European Union located in southwestern Europe on the Iberian Peninsula. Its mainland is bordered to the south and east by the Mediterranean Sea except for a small land boundary with the British Overseas Territory of Gibraltar; to the north by France, Andorra, and the Bay of Biscay; and to the northwest and west by the Atlantic Ocean and Portugal.

Spanish territory also includes the Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean, the Canary Islands in the Atlantic Ocean off the African coast, and two autonomous cities in North Africa, Ceuta and Melilla, that border Morocco.

The tourism is one of the principal bases of the economy of Spain. In previous decades there was improving itself exclusively the tourism of the Sun and beach, hot and sunny climate , unlike other European countries. Clear example they are the Mediterranean coasts as Costa del Sol, Benidorm, the Catalan coasts...In the north of Spain attracts also different types of tourists thanks to the steep landscapes, calm beaches and the rural tourism.

IN BARCELONA:

Immerse yourself in Barcelona, you can visit many Gaudibuildings. Stroll along the Rambla and on to old Barceloneta and the seafront. Sights include the Sagrada Familia (Holy Family),the Seu (old cathedral), the Episcopal Palace and the Palau de la Generalitat. Take the funicular to Tibidabo or a cable car to Montjuic.

IN MADRID

Explore Spain's capital. The Prado is a paradise for artlovers. The Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia focuses on modern art and houses Picasso's famous Guernica. Also don't miss the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza, Madrid's Royal Palace, the atmosphere around Puerta del Sol and Madrid's historic square, the Plaza Mayor.

IN BILBAO

Visit Frank Gehry's marvellous Guggenheim Museum, which has turned the main city of the Basque region into a top tourist destination. The museum is a masterpiece of 20th-century architecture. Andalucía's hedonistic capital is the romantic heart of Spain, city of flamenco, of Carmen and Don Juan. • Festivals Most festivals turn around

patron saints, legends, local customs and folklore. Among the most singular ones stand out the Seville Fair (Feria de Abril in Spanish), the Romería de El Rocío in Almonte, Huelva the world-famous Running of the Bulls in Pamplona, the Fallas in Valencia, the Tomatina in Buñol, Valencia and the Fiestas del Pilar inZaragoza.

Spain, as the second most mountainous country of Europe, is full of high mountains and good ski resorts, with famous ski slopes all over Spain, including the Pyrenees, the Sistema Central, the Sistema Ibérico and Sierra Nevada.

Spain has the perfect weather for any type of sports  like hiking, windsurfing, kitesurfing or surfing in places like Mundaka, SanSebastian, Tarifa or El Palmar. Also widely practiced mountain bike, swimming, golf, a lot of golf on the best golf courses in the world. But Not only the good weather for tourismWorksNorthern Spain has a climate somewhat cooler and wetter. Many Spanish and foreignersare attracted to the Way of Santiagoo the festival of San Fermin. There is so much cliffs, beaches and secluded quiet. This area combines rural tourism with big sandy beaches with good weather in summer and in the Galician Rias. The main cause of tourism in the north is the beauty of the area (geography, Rias of Galicia, Cantabrian coast, Picos de Europa, etc.) and the variety of gastronomie.
