Big game

• We can practice it during (12th October –last weekend of February)

• It’s can be only practice in specifics zones in the mountains it’s used to be in the north of Andalucía south Badajoz , some parts of the Cadiz’s mountains and some part in the north of Spain( Pirineos). All that zones must have a permission from the state.

Trophies

• Depend of the zone we can find: deer ,wild boar, roe and the goat.

• If we hunt a deer the trophy is the antlers and depend of the number of pits it’s better or worst.

• In the wild boar the trophy are his fangs and depend of his size.

• In the roe are his anthers and it’s better or worse depending of their size. It’s not depend of the number of pits because they only have two .

• And in the goat the trophy depend of the size of the horn.

• Finally, a dam qualifies sworn and give you a medal.

Small game• There are different types of small game depending

on the animal • The most famous animals are rabbit, thrush,

partridge, pheasant, dove, etc• Depending of the animal and the modality the ban is

in different moth. For example :from October to December we can hunt all types of animal and with any form(dogs , game positions…)and from December to February, we can only hunt from our game positions and we only can use dog to cath the animal .

Situation

• Rivers and in pastures area

Trophies • The different with the big game is that there not

material trophies . It’s depend of the number of animals.

Weapons • In the big game we use the rifle because is more

powerful and reaches farther.• In the small game we use the shotgun because

the shot is more expansive but is less deadly than the rifle because the animals are not so big than in the big game.

Other styles Fox hunting Falconry

• Is very popular in England but not very here.

• Consist in hunt foxes with horses and dog (England)

• Here we hunt foxes only with dogs

•Consist in hunt birds with eagles and hawks •One of the first style of hunting•Now days is not very popular .but we can see this style to hunt rabbits an in the airport to hunt doves.

Summary• We practice big game in the mountains (Sierra

Morena ,Perineum , Grazalema ...) during the autumn and part of the winter , and his preys are :deer , wild boar , roe and goat.

• The small game is practices in the river and pastures zones and their preys are like the rabbit, thrush, partridge, pheasant and dove.

• We use the rifle in the big game and the shotgum in the small one .

• In spain there other style like the fox hunting and the falconry but they are not very famouns.
