Transcoder Wowza® Transcoder AddOn provides the ability to ingest a live stream, decode the video and audio, and then re-encode the stream to suit the desired playback devices. Wowza Transcoder is a real-me audio and video transcoding and transrang soluon. It can decode audio and video in mulple formats and re-encode them to properly key-frame aligned H.264 streams for adapve bitrate delivery.
Transcoded streams can be delivered as adapve bitrate using Flash RTMP/HTTP Dy-namic Streaming, Apple HLS, and Silverlight Smooth Streaming, or as single bitrate streams over any Wowza Media Server 3.5 supported protocols.

Audio-only OptionThe audio-only opon gives you the ability to pay a significantly lower “audio-on-ly� price when using the Wowza Transcoder AddOn. Using commodity hardware, the audio-only opon transforms incoming live audio streams from encoders, IP cam-eras, IPTV headends, and other live sources into mulple bitrate H.264 stream sets for adapve bitrate delivery. Addionally, the audio-only opon can be used for non-adapve streaming with any transport protocol supported by Wowza Media Server 3.5.
Wowza nDVRWowza nDVR AddOn enables the ability to me-shi content and use trick play fea-tures such as pause, play and rewind on a live broadcast. The network-based func-onality removes the recording requirement from the end user's hardware and places it on the media server. Compared to client-specific implementaons, Wowza nDVR significantly reduces cost by minimizing network storage requirements and simplifying the delivery workflow for all screens.
