WELCOME / QUICK FACTS

Welcome to MBU!

On behalf of the Department of Athletics, I want to personally welcome you to Missouri Baptist University. We have developed this guide to assist you in your travel and answer many of your questions from travel arrange-ments to services and facilities.

Missouri Baptist has experienced significant growth over the last number of years and currently offers 27 varsity sports. Most recently, Phase I of Spartan Field was completed in the fall of 2015, including an artificial turf field and a state-of-the-art, 11,750 square-foot facility. Spartan Field has largely been utilized as a practice facility for our football, soccer and lacrosse programs, however, during the 2017-18 school year, the soccer and lacrosse programs began to use Spartan Field for competition as well. In 2011, the Carl and Deloris Petty Sports and Recreation Complex opened and is equipped with locker rooms and our Athletic Training Center which are available to all teams traveling here.

We take pride in providing a first-rate gameday environment, especially for our visiting teams and fans, and our staff is accessible should you need anything when you arrive. If at any time you are in need of anything addi-tional or have any concerns, please feel free to contact myself, or a member of our staff, so that we can address it immediately. ATHLETICS FACILITIES

Carl & Deloris Petty Sports and Recreation ComplexThe Carl & Deloris Petty Sports and Recreation Complex is one of the newer facilities at Missouri Baptist University. Opened in November 2011, this state-of-the-art complex is fully equipped to handle any number of athletics events including men’s basketball, women’s basketball, competitive cheer, competitive dance, men’s volleyball, women’s volleyball, men’s wrestling and women’s wrestling. The facility is equipped with six locker rooms and has one of the top Matrix fitness centers in the state. The “SRC” as it is known around campus houses the athletics staff and administration offices, Athletic Training Facility Center and MBU’s Health & Sport Sciences Division. The R. Alton Lacey Gymnasium is one of the finest in the NAIA and boasts both wireless and wired internet access. The facility is set up perfectly for home and visiting media to broadcast games live.

Christian Brothers College High SchoolW. Michael Ross Stadium, on the campus of Christian Brothers College (CBC) High School, is currently the home stadium for Spartan Football. In recent years, W. Michael Ross Stadium has also served as the home for men’s & women’s soccer and men’s & lacrosse. The 3,000-seat stadium has Prestige FieldTurf System artificial turf, and a Mondo rubber track. The press box has one room for media, two rooms for team statisticians and coaches, as well as a rooftop plaza for film crews.

W. Michael Ross Stadium is located right next door to the Missouri Baptist University main campus.

Spartan FieldPhase I of Spartan Field was completed by Holland Construction Services in the fall of 2015, including an artificial turf field and a state-of-the-art, 11,750 square-foot facility that houses football coaches’ offices, locker rooms and a press box. Since its completion, Spartan Field has largely been utilized as a practice facility for football, soccer and lacrosse. During the 2017-18 school year, the men’s and women’s soccer and men’s and women’s lacrosse programs began to use Spartan Field for competition as well.

Phase II expansion for Spartan Field is in progress with the addition of an 8-lane track, videoboard, lights, seating, concession stands and public restrooms.

Spartan Baseball FieldLocated on Missouri Baptist’s main campus just northeast of Dink Marler Lane and College Park Drive, the on-campus stadium is equipped with a natural grass playing surface – rye grass in the winter/spring and bermuda grass in the summer/fall – and an irrigation system. DuraEdge engineered soil is used for the park’s infield and warning track, providing a superb level of consistency, stability, and playability. The dimensions for Spartan Baseball Field are 320 feet down the LF line, 312 feet down the RF line and 385 feet to straight-away CF. The facility features a brand-new Daktronics inning-by-inning scoreboard, bleacher seating, traditional home and away dugouts, separate bullpens on the outside perimeter and a batting cage shared with the softball program. Pets of any kind, alcoholic beverages, and tobacco products are not allowed on the premises at any time.

Spartan Softball FieldLocated on Missouri Baptist’s main campus near the intersection of College Park Drive and Dink Marler Lane and nestled right next to Spartan Baseball Field, the on-campus stadium is equipped with a natural grass playing surface (Bermuda) and irrigation system. DuraEdge engineered soil is used for the park’s infield and warning track, providing a superb level of consistency, stability, and playability. The dimensions for Spartan Softball Field are 200 feet down the lines and 205 feet to straight-away center field. The facility features a brand-new Daktronics scoreboard, limited bleacher seating, traditional home and away dugouts, separate bullpens on the outside perimeter and a batting cage shared with the baseball program. Pets of any kind, alcoholic beverages, and tobacco products are not allowed on the premises at any time.

Muncy GymnasiumMuncy Gymnasium is the former home of MBU Athletics and now serves as the primary practice facility for men’s & women’s wrestling, cheerleading and eSports. Muncy houses the athletics department’s primary strength & conditioning area stocked with free weights as well as additional coaches’ offices.

The office is responsible for all statistics, news releases, recaps, website updates, social media and the overall communication for the MBU Department of Athletics.

Live StatisticsMissouri Baptist will webcast statistics of all contests held at Carl and Deloris Petty Sports and Recreation Com-plex, Christian Brothers College (CBC) High School and Spartan Field. Due to limited internet connectivity at Spartan Baseball Field and Spartan Softball Field, we cannot guarantee live statistical updates. For an updated list of contests that will offer live stats or live video, please go to www.mbuspartans.com.

Radio/TV/Internet BroadcastsMissouri Baptist provides a free, live internet video or audio stream for a majority of its home contests on the Spartan Digital Network. All broadcasts are located at https://www.spartandigitalnetwork.com.

Conference/National Championship EventsThe Missouri Baptist Athletics Communications Department may provide teams with credentials in order to go to and from locker rooms and other designated areas. Participants, coaches, members of the media and school administrators must have the issued credentials with them at all times of the day. The official team (participant) roster will serve as the list of who will recieve a credential. Any others should be submitted to Adam Samson (Adam.Samson@mobap.edu) no later than 48 hours prior to the event. Anyone without proper credentials will not be allowed past specific checkpoints. Credentials are limited to coaches, participants and media.

Team VideoAny teams wishing to record their team may do so from the track that overlooks the gym floor. The third floor is restricted to personnel only and will not be accessible to parents or fans.
