dMT - SPC PRODUCTS SURFACE PROTECTIVE COATINGS dMT-SPC Products provide a modern, efficient and labor-free method of protecting surfaces in the most difficult applications areas – in some cases the only workable method. The products are a mixture of special components (NO GRAPHITE) which bond strongly with the metal surfaces and create a pre-determined, optimum coefficient of friction for use in numerous industrial applications. dMT-SPC Blocks coat metal surfaces with a solid, non-migrating, protective layer approximately 10 microns thick. This coating: (a) maintains a constant, optimum coefficient of friction between the contacting surfaces – with block type T a low value of ca. 0.05 and with block type M of much higher values (variable) up to about 0.35 (traction enhancement to reduce risk of wheel slippage) – and (b) protects the metal surfaces from flaking, pitting, etc. Manual application with all its disadvantages and costs is not required. Wear of the metal surfaces is substantially reduced (generally up to 80%), therefore increasing the life of these machine parts 3-5 times. dMT-SPC Blocks are supplied in various lengths and widths to coat all metal surfaces from 15 - 120 mm wide. For wider surfaces blocks can be mounted adjacent to each other or custom solutions can be offered. Heavy-duty, spring-loaded, stainless steel applicators are delivered with the blocks. Installation is usually quite simple and low cost. dMT-SPC Blocks are most economical in applications where conventional lubricants (greases and oils) cannot be used, or should not be used, , especially in very dusty, high temperature or wet applications, due to resultant high material and labor costs. In comparison dMT-SPC Coatings offer the following characteristics and cost-saving benefits: absolutely dry and dust repellent; absolute control over friction coefficient; do not drip or “migrate“; excellent performance under high pressure; maintenance-free and long-lasting; coat continually & uniformly, reduce wear; coat dry or wet surfaces; high temperature resistance (300 ºC / 575 ºF); not harmful to the environment. These products also contribute to noise (high- pitched squealing) reduction, (i.e. on locomotive and rail car wheels / rails). The products can be effectively applied to: crane wheel flanges and treads, and all other types of wheel / rail-equipped systems; trunnions, rings and thrust buttons on rotating equipment, (i.e. kilns, furnaces, dryers); steel cables and pulleys on cranes / hoists; locomotive wheels; various other metal surfaces
