The EventSPCI & Friends at Gröna Lund is one-day conference for the forest, pulp and paper industry, with three parallel conference tracks and the possibility for company visi-bility and co-events in unique surroundings. The event is a combination of two successful SPCI events; SPCI & Friends at Gröna Lund (2008) and SPCI Convention (2013).

Participation, single personThe event is free of charge for all SPCI-members and specially invited. Price for non-members is 3000 SEK. Single tickets can be purchased at www.spci.se close to the event date.

The forest industry is in a transformational phase and the face-to-face meetings organized by SPCI in inspiring surroundings have never been more welcome. More than ever, the professionals of the Swedish forest industry value the chance to meet colleagues and discuss the hot topics and challenges that the industry is facing. For many years SPCI has been the organization that has perhaps contributed the most to the industry’s inter-nal marketing and to the maintenance of a strong forest industry business network, in recent years, through engaging producers and suppliers as partners in joint events organized by the association. Our ambition is to continue to create events that engage the whole industry at an early developmental stage.

With this in mind, we will organise a one-off event for 2015. The new concept is actually a combination of two former successful events, SPCI & Gröna Lund 2008 and SPCI Convention 2013. A quality-assured conference in a unique and casual setting, which invites you to network through team-building activities, this event will ap-peal to people at different professional levels, from mill operators to CEOs. The idea is to make it possible for anyone who is interested in and connected to the industry to participate in the event. We know that time and cost matter, so we have kept the format to a single day. The goal is to make it accessible for as many as pos-sible to participate in the most exciting event of 2015.

The event’s format offers a variety of possibilities for participating companies to tailor-make their day according to their needs. Sponsors of the event will be able to invite an unlimited number of guests with a connection to the industry – customers, business partners and employees worldwide. A well-planned participation can offer a unique opportunity for marketing, sales and customer service activities, information sharing, competence development and knowledge exchange, as well as employee team building, recruitment/career and student networking activities – all in one.

For SPCI’s part, the event is a value-added service for our members and the perfect opportunity to spread information about what we do as well as to broaden our network with new businesses, partners and people.

Conference & Evening ProgramThe event consists of a one-day, three-track quality assured conference followed by evening activities. There will be three conference stages, The Gröna Lund Theatre, Tyrol and Dansbanan.The tracks will be Future & Mar-ket, Process & Production, Research & Development. The conference program is put together by a conference committee with members from the association SPCI’s pulp, paper and research committees. Please note that there will not be a call for papers. The conference program will be spacious i. e. there will be room for company activities during the day without having to compete with the existing program.

Examples of different activities :

Decorate an attraction with company brand colours and challenge your colleagues/customers/business partners to take a ride! If the ride is a roller coaster or Fritt fall (Free Fall) the participants get a t-shirt with the text “I survived the [company name] challenge!”

Give an open or closed presentation at one of the avai-lable restaurants/stages in the amusement park during breaks in the event program. Combined with lunch or cof-fee it will surely be an appreciated co-event.

Create a quiz competition in Lustiga Huset (Funny Hou-se). Invite your colleagues/customers /business partners to walk around in funny surroundings while answering multiple-answer questions about your company. After finishing the quiz, the participants get a hat/t-shirt with the text “I passed the [company name] test!”

The pentathlon challenge: It’s good to burn off some energy after a day full of thoughts and ideas. So why not challenge your colleagues/customers/business partners to a classic pentathlon. Settle the question of who’s the champion at your workplace – once and for all! Pentathlon booklets can be purchased on-site.
