Timeline 2015: With increasing threats from an imminent nuclear war an emergency program launched by a collaboration between the United Nations and Olympus code named: SPE SALVI. This program aims to develop a protective membrane from stem cells around major cities all across the world.

“The SPE SALVI Program aims to bring together science, architecture and engineering together as one to bring forth a counter measure to ensure the survival of humanity in the context of a nuclear holocaust.”

Technology In 2006, John B. Gurdon and Shinya Yamanaka succeeded in identifying a small number of genes within the genome of mice that proved decisive in this process. When activated, skin cells could be reprogrammed to immature stem cells, which, in turn, can grow into all types of cells.
Applying this theory to a larger scale in 2014 has allowed for the creation of an intelligent membrane able to self-rejuvenate through identification and adaptation to surrounding threats.
This membrane found by Olympus to be able to absorb and filter high doses of radiation and heat. It is this membrane that in 2024 proved to be able to filter and assure the safety and health of humans within protection in the situation of a nuclear blast and fallout.

Timeline
2024: one year before nuclear war through the joint program and the support of 143 countries around the world, 31 SPE SALVIS are built across all continents.

Timeline 2050: War and pollution have made the outside world impossible to live in. Majority of the population has taken refuge in the most isolated locations often having to build in high attitude; underground or underwater while a majority of the survived population lives comfortably within the shielded cities. In this age of troubled times where borders no longer exist and cities and resources become the identity of its citizens; humanity finds itself working together and specialising themselves with other cities around the world working on the survival of the human race.

Purpose :
These SPE SALVI serve as the main political hubs for the management of their regions and inter-salvi relations with the rest of the world. Europa, Brisbane and Tokyo are also responsible of the management and maintenance of human cloning facilities for the production of what are commonly known as “Bioroids”
Political SPE SALVILayout:
While Possessing similar layouts to other type of cities. These type of Spe Salvi can be distinguished through their more open and green urban layout. The central building is also larger in scale than in other cities due to the cloning and governmental facilities.

Notes:
Political SPE SALVIS have none existent manufacturing farming capacity and are therefore strongly dependent of other cities.
Timeline 2075: The shields have moved on from their original main purpose of only being for protection and have now been equipped to recreate a natural climatic environment and provide a filtered and clean air to the residents. These shields have become architecture entities in themselves creating a structured network within the cities. Brisbane has grown to become the political hub representing Olympus within the oceanic region, using technology and resources from around the world it has grown into a sustainable and warm city thus becoming an integral part in the dawn of a new civilisation.
