Speaking 1

I'd like you to tell me something about your hometown. Is that okay?

Where do you come from?

I come from Vietnam the country had gained independence after 50 year Vietnam War.

The policy regime in Vietnam dramatically differentiate it from others not only because

of community party existing solely in whole country but also Marx and Hochiminh

ideology invaded Vietnamese’ mind. The most powerful industry in my country still

belongs to agriculture although there are huge paces in non-smoking industries recently.

Is it a city, a town or a village?

My countryside is Nghean province but I have lived in Hanoi the capital of Vietnam

since I was born. Hanoi nowadays is the attractive destination for tourism all over the

world because of historical areas and its peaceful reputation. Wherever Hanoi people

without ageing limitation go, they still remember about it like the beautiful and friendly

place at bottom of their heart

What kind of jobs do people do in your area?

Having same features in common with other big cities, Hanoi with crowd population in

center areas of country have advantages in trading and service to other provinces with

almost civil working for agriculture. Like my parent I also get education in hope to find a

job in office. According to the prediction of professional experts that banking and

software industries are likely to be the most potential areas occupied a third of Hanoi

people in next ten years.

What is the surrounding area like?

In the next 5-year plan of government developing economy, geography relative provinces

surrounding Hanoi will be invest to become industrial centers like supplement for Hanoi

economic process. If you have been in Hatay, a province locating 10 miles away from

north of Hanoi, you actually acknowledge many handicraft businesses developing

powerfully there. Hadong silk not only be known in Vietnam, nowadays many foreign

people try to find this material for their outfit without considering about its dear price.

Is it a pleasant place to live? Why?

Living in big cities especially Hanoi has both negative and positive sides. Easily access to

health protecting and educational service in city always coincide with over air pollution

and noisy, not mention to high rate crime. Besides, we can overlook some topical

problems such as congestion, traffic accident and lacking space.

Part 2

Describe an animal or pet that you have owned.

The cat I have owned come to me accidentally like the birthday present of my aunt for

my twenty year old ceremony. The lovely imagine of kitten was out of small box, joy me

with full strong emotion. It was tiny Chinese race with a snowy and smooth fur cover

whole its body. In the cat’s document, he was only 5 weeks at that time and had some

problems with respirablity, so taking care of him advised by a vet made me a litter worry.

At the first night he was away from his mother and lived in stranger place, he had cried

until midnight before falling in sleep with exhausted. Many kind of food produced by

some pets’ companies were fed my kitten hopelessly. After nearly one week to be

nourishing with a little food and water, my lovely pet’s respiratory was so serious that the

vet taking care him refuse to give any medicine because of his weak immunize system.

The last time I saw him alive when I changed his box. I could not forget his sight to me

gratefully and last morning after there was no sign of him to be alive. It was only 2 weeks

from the day he came to my home but I really sense him like friendly companion for long

time ago. I regret that I have no action to save his life such as paying him back to his

mother that he maybe still alive. My strongly desire occupied logical mind totally so his

death partly caused by me. At that time I whisper to my mind that I will have never fed

animal any more. The gloomy atmosphere had covered my house during weeks later.

From that on, my mother denied allowances of my younger sister to get any kind of

animal without reasons, it is likely that she does not want to recall sorrow about the

kitten.

Part 3

The role of animals in your country

Which animals are the most popular pets in your country?

Keeping a animal at home as pets have many benefits which most family should be

considered such as arousing environment love in children, home security and so on.

There are many kinds of animals to be lovely pet of Vietnamese families but what special

kind is chosen depends on habit and living situation of owners. Due to being wonderful

companions of human, cats and dogs are being popular choice if Vietnamese wants to

feed a pet at home from ancient time till now.

Do city and country dwellers treat animals differently?

Agriculture is the most potential export industry of Vietnam as well as dominate third

quarter of Vietnamese labor force. Hence, lifestyle and behavior of rural people and city

dwellers are very different in all aspects. While most of all answers of urban people

considered feeding pets as an entertainment ornament, rural persons take care them as the

great companions

To what extent arc animals important to the economy of your country?

In Vietnamese cultural, pets take an indispensable role in trivial life. Moreover, pets were

animated with person character in many fiction masterpieces that be taught in education

in order to pass animal love down next generations. In modern time, caring production

for pet is likely being potential business in my country.

The importance of animal welfare

What measures can we take to eliminate cruelty to animals?

Although animal is treat fairly satisfiable in Vietnam but mistreat still happened

somewhere. Animal’s rights still are not established as regulations that everyone has to

act under. Due to soon enacting fulfill regulations to treat animal equally and to found an

animal protecting committee that solve all problems relevant to animal treatments. When

people perceive what right of animal have in law system and who is responsibility for

this, their action actually would be better.

Would there be less cruelty to animals if offenders were given prison sentences?

I think there are many ways to warn owners what the obligation to their pets is. But

choosing a good way to apply in regulations must to be considered carefully before

putting it in fact. Some people think seriously that prison sentences are completely

solution for cruelty treatments to animal. As far as I concerned, I take many

considerations into account to practice this option because relationship between human

and pets do not depend on pushnisment. Lovely emotion to pets only makes them take

care their pet carefully.

The role of prisons in society

What can be done to prevent the rise in crime in modem society?

Crime is more present issue not only in Vietnam but also over the world. How

government reduces crime commitments throughout country is considered in many

conferences and summit leaders meeting every year but they can find the good solutions

because of its complex feature. With special conditions of Vietnam, in my opinion, I

completely agree with our government that social education in family and school are

good way to reduce crime events nowadays.

Is community service a more effective form of punishment than imprisonment?

Estimating if community service or imprisonment punishment is better solution to reduce

crime commitments is impossible. At particular situation and features, one country

analyzing what static should be practiced. But personally I stimulated government to use

both of these punishments along with others method effectively in order to reducing

crime in society.

How far is the threat of imprisonment a deterrent to criminals?

The threat of imprisonment is known by whole civil in case they have never tried this

experience before. But almost murderers affirmed that these miserable events happened

unlucky that they feel very regrettable. Due to this statement, a deterrent to criminals

through imprisonment is not effective way.

Part 1

I'd like you to tell me a little bit about yourself. Is that okay?

1 When is your birthday?

I was born in the middle of autumn; the season is considered to be the best weather in

Hanoi, my city. There is another surprise that my birthday is also the beginning of school

season every year, on the fifth of November. So, after three-month holiday, my friend and

I gather together again and talk about what happen with us during summer vacation on

my birthday.

2 What do you do in your family when it's someone's birthday?

In my family, well-prepared birthday is only organized for young members like my

siblings and me. Mature members in my family is likely busy with a load of work so that

they have not enough time to spend on this event. Although a intimate meal with big

family is necessary for every member and actually I always take the task to buy a

birthday cake and a wishing card as well, in case my mother and my aunts to be a good

cooks.

3 What kinds of presents do you give each other?

4 On what other occasions do you get together as a family?

My father’s parent lives far away from my city. Contrast to other siblings of my father,

who settled in this town, choosing a carrier in new wealth land is not permitted him to

taking care his parent. So, at any time my parent has leisure time for holiday, the first

choice to decide where we spent on is a trip to countryside visiting my grandparent.

5 What is your favorite family celebration?

My grandfather have just celebrated his 90-longivity occasion. According to Vietnamese

tradition notion, longevity symbol is the statue of experience, wise, moral and great

happiness. So, 90 years old birthday of my grandfather not only was noticed by us, but

also was congratulated by committees.

Part 2 : Talk on a topic for 1 or 2 minutes

Describe a national festival or celebration in your country.

New year is a great time with various ways to celebrate in over the world but I want to

mention to other festival having Vietnamese tradition respective features such as lim

festival. This event happens in Bacninh province where is called original land of quanho

folk, a kind of popular music in Vietnam in February when the flower blossom the best.

From the ancient time, Vietnamese’s ancestors were full of love to art and they created

this festival to protect non-material value through rhythm and lyric. Labor love emotion,

respecting relationship, mutual affection in misfortune inspired next generation during 2

weeks festival. Many strange people become couples after participating one or two time,

especially. It is easy to join lim festival whether you are native or not. We can be a

partner of games if we can sing some song in quanho, as well as our appearance is barely

a tourist to listen music and watch games. The special game called quanho game which 2

groups, males and females communicate to other by quanho songs. Passionate rhythms in

strong voice make listeners fascinated after some minutes. Although I do not join lim

festival regularly because of my studying schedule but festival time made me exciting

and surprising when I have been. Love of nation and being proud of forefather in my

mind are strengthened and put me a question what I contribute to our society.

Part 3 Discussion Topics

other important national festivals and celebrations

1 How important is it to have national celebrations?

A day out of work allows people in a country time with their families and contributes to a

slower pace of life. In addition, this time is also spent on recall what is happened on that

day in the past. This means that history and culture of this country will be enforced in all

citizens’ mind. Through TV and outside curriculums easy way makes next generation

understand historical lessons.

2 What positive effects do these festivals bring to a country?

Space time is rare in modern life when people spent most their time in working hours in

order to earning more money and gaining post social position to be in comfortable

circumstance. They seem to forget what real life meaning is. Personally these festivals

not only help them appreciate what is done by their ancestors but also inform them to

enjoy beautiful lifetime that be neglected.

3 Are people as interested in these celebrations as they were fifty years ago?

Fifty year ago, at the initial time of industrialization period, humankind is likely happier

with outside activities at home or social works. Workers today have to confront with

serious stress and working pressure, so whenever they have time to be out of work, the

usual action is staying in bed with endless sleep that they cannot do on other days.

the role of International events

4 Do you think international sporting events bring nations together?

I completely agree that international sporting events bring nations together. Taking sea

game 23rd acted in Vietnam as example, to prepare this Asia events whole country invest

labor and money to construct and upgrade many beautiful complex gyms that happened

competitive matches among countries. Moreover, students, police and volunteers gave

advices of way direction and avoid joining in traffic. To operate successfully

international sport events, thousands of people cooperated effectively during long time

and the support of whole countries to do this.

5 Is it possible for smaller nations to compete with more powerful countries in

international sporting events?

I think the smaller nations countries are completely to compete with powerful

countries in order to gain medal in international sporting events. Although my

country, Vietnam is small and quite poor country but our ambitious for obtaining

victory in international events always existence in every Vietnamese’ spirit. So,

through continuous effort of many generations of athletes, teakwood of Vietnam

gained a silver medal in Olympic event. I believe that if we determine to pursue an

aim with hard effort, we will gain it sooner or latter.

6 Do countries always benefit financially when hosting international events such as

the Olympic Games (Sea Games)?

We cannot overlook significant benefits that international events bring to host

country. The fame of host country is spreaded rapidly over the world in case this

country has never known before these events happened. Moreover, thousands of

spectator come from all over the world gather in host country bring a large amount of

currency. The service industry is likely to gain the largest turnover as well as create

many occasions to cooperate with other foreign businessmen.

The role of national identity

7 What are the benefits of globalization?

It can be seen that globalization brings many advantages to its members. The

businessmen in these countries can expand their commercial environment to dominate

foreign economy as well as avoiding many limitation of trading regulation in order to

protect their internal domestic products. In addition, new technology achievements can be

learnt from developed countries, so government budget can cut down a big amount of

money invested in processing experiments.

8 What problems might an immigrant face when moving to a new country?

Person who settles down in new country with stranger tradition and community could

confront with many obstacles such as languages, customs and habits that are very

different with his experiences. But the hardest drawback to one person moving to new

country is memorization of civil’s obligations and rights established in regulation system

9 Is it possible for an immigrant to fully integrate into the society of their adopted country?

An immigrant can fully integrate into the society of their adopted country or not

depend on how effort he pays in this process. Other members of these community are

willing to greet new citizen in case they aware of his sincerity.

SPEAKING (3)

Part 1

I'd like you to tell me something about how you to traveled to the test today. Is

that okay?

1. How did you travel here?

There are many kind of transport in Hanoi that I can use to get here such as bus, taxi, and

motorbike. But the most popular mean of transport in Hanoi is surely motorbike because

its convenience and flexibility are accordance with Hanoi narrow infrastructure. To

ensure movement condition of civilians, government still invest a part of tax into fuel

complement in order to cutting down high price of fuel is also another reason made

motorbike become more and more popular.

2. How long did the journey take?

It took around 30 minutes in traffic or a half of this time without congestion from my

home to the test.

3. How was your journey today different from the way you travel to school/work?

With the improvement in economy and construction technology process, Hanoi

infrastructure have been changed completely compare to the day I still went to school.

Many big and new roads have been built with International Corporation. The significant

development suffices for demand of global economic integration and social travel. As the

popular tourism destination of Asia, Hanoi could not satisfy with own facilities since 10

years ago

4. What is the longest, most interesting journey you've made?

I had been in New Zealand to study for ten months. After all, I said that it is really a good

and hard period I have ever been. With friendly New Zealanders and dedicated, well

training native teachers help me so much not only in studying English but also in

confronting with trivial living situations by myself during that time.

5. Is there anywhere you would like to travel to? Why?

I still have not occasion to travel china the most attractive destination to me because

at my age, I have to spend time to study major knowledge before expanding my window

of the real world. Although this desire inflamed in my mind for long time ago through

china movies and beautiful see sight on television.

Part 2

Describe the different types of technology you use to help you learn English

In mordent world, English skills is required a necessary condition if someone

applied for a job position. Business market is not only limited in internal country like our

forefather last century. So many occasions to cooperate with people all over the world are

created by communicating in English via Internet, face-to-face conversation and

contracts. The studying English tendency in youth becomes the hottest than ever. In order

to utilize English studying, many modern technology are applied from the old means such

as books, cassettes and television to website, studying online and foreign course. It is

clearly to see that these means made our learning be much more effective and easier.

Website, for example, created the new way studying for students who have not condition

to go to school or limited time. Sitting in front of computer connecting with Internet, we

can find a huge of English resource that is very helpful to improve our foreign language

skill. Besides, vivid imagine and logical methods approach learning aims effectively. Up-

date documents with real situations are really for viewers to make lessons more exciting.

In addition, if we establish an account with some dollars, we can join in class online. The

special books are supplied to us in order to keep up with online lectures. The other

members of online class not only come from our country or continental, so the variety of

native language help class use English as the sole language to make conversation. The

geographic distance and culture gap disappear gradually because of group works. The

online teachers are always with us whenever we want to help. The most attractive point

of online studying, personally, is formal native English teachers’ voice. This means that

learners will avoid the mistakes of non-English speakers. Finally, the standard online

course is far cheaper and less time than other kind of studying that everybody can access

to.

Part 3

Computers past and present

1. Describe the earliest computer you remember using.

The first time I can see and touch a computer when I applied for computer subject at

secondary school. At that time, I can barely enable turning off and turning on a computer.

One time a week we only tried to practice alphabet training game that made me tired with

the most dramatically invention of humankind.

2. How have computers changed since then?

Since then, there are huge paces to accomplish many functions of computer that help

people save manual labor as well as increasing productivity rapidly in all aspects.

Computer can connected with other technology components. As a result of this function,

a person can sit on one position but he is able to manage actions of whole complex

producing process.

3. Do you think computers will ever replace teachers?

It is right that computer can restore and recall a big source of information but computer is

still a machine that humankind invented to make our life more comfortable. We know

that books bring all knowledge of human being from ancient time but the teachers are

indispensable to education system.

Influence of computers on life today

1. Describe how computers and technology have changed our lives.

It can be seen that our life is much more comfortable than that in the past. Nowadays, we

do not need to wait a long time for responsive letter from other because of email, chat or

web cam. Students can study at aboard university from his country via website.

Housework can be done regularly by home machines with controlling from connected

computer system.

2. Compare the abilities of computers and humans.

Machines are invented by researchers to save labor and time of human but it can replaced

human because its operation needs human control. Human can get process to devise new

equipment with better function to alternate old one. So it is funny to compare ability of

humans with that of computers.

3. Evaluate the changes computers have made to our lives.

Nowadays, people only click on Internet to buy everything they want instead of long time

driving to shops. Newspaper is not a solely thing that human can gain information.

Surfing on Internet people can find news; watch new movie or meet new friend lived in

other part of the world. As I told above, one person can study at foreign university in his

country.

Modem society

1. Tell me which household appliance you couldn't live without.

To choice the most necessary thing that I can live without is the different question to

me. But at every circumstance, I make up my mind that the appliance is my computer. In

modern life, time of students contacting with computer is far more than doing whole

activities. Students can study, work, and watch TV in computer

2. How is life better today than fifty years ago?

Although our life today is much more convenient than that of our ancestors but we is

likely not happy like last generations. Long our working and high stress rate makes us

exhausted to enjoy comfortable life. We rather stay at home and surf on Internet

instead of communication with people and environment. This habit influences on our

health and mood.

3. Will environmental pollution still exist in the future?

I think the global industrialization makes the environment more serious pollution

than ever. More chemistry wastes, transport and industry emission and deforestation

create dramatically damages to environment that can be recovered itself.

SPEAKING (4)

Part 1

I'd like you to tell me something about how you spend your spare time. Is that

okay?

- What are your hobbies?

It takes a long time to talk about my hobbies because I am a kind of playing boy.

When someone gives me a new game, I can spend whole day and night of following days

to discover what it is. But tennis attracts me the most among physical games.

- What benefits do you think you get from these activities?

Tennis is physical activity required health, flexibility and techniques as well. In

square of ground, we can play this competitive sport single or double with our friends.

Playing tennis help me be out of stress and worries in trivial life. Fair playing and

consistency of players are enforced after every games, are useful for us in the fact too.

- How do you usually spend your evenings?

The coming ielts test is next obstacle that I have to overcome in ongoing time. So,

getting process in English skills required me to spend a lot of time studying in daylight

and night as well. Although watching television is solely hobby I have in the spare time.

- When you have vacations from work/study, do you like to travel abroad?

Traveling is more and more popular in entertainment activities when our substance

life is more abundant than ever. Though traveling to new land with strange cultural is

very exciting experience that everybody cannot imagine if he only lives in one place. So

if I have spare time and saving budget, actually I will spend it in traveling aboard.

- Is there any activity you have always wanted to do but have never had the chance?

Ski running is activity that I only see on television because Vietnamese climate is not

cold enough to get snow. Sometimes I dream about seeing snow falling and skiing from the

peak of a snowy mountain by myself but this activity happens in my mind. If I have another

occasion to study in foreign country, skiing-running is the first thing done

Part 2

Describe a meal you might prepare in your country for a feast or special

occasion.

Being located on Asia region where ancestor worship has been deified for long

time ago and Vietnam is not an exception. To Vietnamese, preparing a traditional meal

on forefathers’ death day is not dispensable. It is clearly in Vietnamese notion that

females have a heavenly mandate to be a cook in a family; so cooking for a traditional

meal censed to ancestor is a compulsory mission of all women. Male also is in charge of

another part in this worship such as praying on ceremony. I do not know why the formal

meal in worship necessarily has got vegetable soup, boiling chicken and stir-fry with

onion. However it takes a long time to prepare all material for these dishes, even my

mother sometime prepare them at a night before. Praying period prolongs about an hour

that thing makes me loss impatience because of complicated procedures. But the older we

are, the deeper in our thinking is. Nowadays I respect what the traditional worship brings

me. This event makes me understand where I come from and showing my responsibility

to last generation. So I totally appreciate all dishes in this meal although they are not my

favor. Maybe when the time passes by, the taste of people would be changed, fast food

and pizza are more and more popular than complex traditional dishes.

Part 3

Traditional foods and changes in diet

- Do you think traditional foods will retain their popularity?

Although we know that traditional remedy was a result of last generations’ efforts during

thousands years, but in fact, it is difficult to retain traditional foods as popular dishes

daily because of its complex preparation. In modern life, time is the most luxury thing

that people cannot waste in something like that. In order to use effectively their time to

contribute on social works, people prefer fast foods or preserved foods to traditional

foods.

- Compare your country's traditional foods with more modem cuisine.

I cannot remember how long my grandmother spent in cooking a proper traditional meal

but I known that my grandmother had to collect all ingredients some days before. I really

appreciate the patience of last generations in order to cook a meal because we only spend

some minutes to have a dinner today. However, a proper traditional meal is better for

health than modern cuisine contained high-rate fat and preserved chemicals.

- Does traditional cooking have more benefits than modem cooking?

Traditional cooking may well reflect the long history of one race. There are some dishes

attached with good fairy story such as rice cake in Vietnam. Moreover, eating traditional

dishes in old way help people perceive deeply about special events or memorial holidays.

Once, people forget the cuisines to make a proper traditional meal, their culture will be

lost gradually.

Diet and health

- Describe what you think would be your ideal healthy diet.

I think that an ideal healthy diet is balance diet contained all necessary vitamins, which

are required for vitality. According to doctors’ advices, we should add fruits and mineral

proportion to balance diets instead of high fat ingredients. Seafood’s are more usual

material to alternate other kinds of meats than the past. As far as I concerned, I

completely agree that a healthy diet cannot be made from preserved materials.

- How healthy is your regular diet?

Leaving home to study at a university, just as other students, I have to cook meals by

myself. Hence, I choose the simple ways which save as much time as possible but I

observe the rules of healthy diet that using more boiling dishes instead of fried or grill

meals.

- To what extent are people healthier these days?

In my opinion, abuse of cultivating chemicals in agriculture is important cause of

unhealthy diet. As a result of a vicious circle, the health of people is more and more

serious in over air-polluted environment. We should pay more attention on daily living

behavior from now on if we don not want to be a regular patient of hospital.

Eating and body image

- What is the ideal body shape in your country?

In my notion, ideal body shape is slim and nimble appearance with strong mind. To have

well train body required people not only to eat healthy balance diet but also to take

logical exercises regularly. One person can play a kungfu such as taewondo, karate or

judo as good exercises to keep fit.

- How has the ideal body shape changed in recent years?

Some fatal health problems happened in famous model was sentenced that vicious diet

caused lacking necessary vitamin required for vitality. Moreover, the body shape of

model tends to be slimmer that creates bad lifestyle being imitated by youth. The huge

profit of lost weight products also raised anti-obesity in publicity’s notion as well as

affirmed slim shape to be an excellent form.

- Do you think this body shape will continue to be fashionable?

I think this tendency is continuing until amount of slim people is more than that of

obesity. With the technology equipments and chemical foods help people obtain the

fashionable body shape quickly and not to mention beauty surgery. Hence, attention to

body shape would be alternated by the health notice sooner or later.

SPEAKING (5)

Part 1

I'd like you to tell me something about your family. Is that okay?

- Is your family large or small?

In the past, big family with many generations lived together in one house was very

popular. But in modern world, people’s notion about family structure also changes

fundamentally; as a result, privacy priority in family prevails over all advantages of big

family and nuclear family alternated big family is a necessary tendency.

- What do the other members of the family do?

My father work as officer in telecom printing join-stock while my mother who

used to be a teacher but nowadays she is a marketer working for telecom Construction

Company. My sibling is ten-year younger sister than me, still be a student of famous

secondary school.

- When was the last time all your family were together? What did you do?

My younger sister birthday is on the ninth of November, so her last birthday party is

the latest time all members of my big family gathered together. My house located on

other city is around 300km far away from other members’ house or 5 hour driving to

others’. In order to reunite all members we made plan in 5 weeks before and I was charge

of calling to remind other members about this events.

- What do you do as a family for special occasions like weddings or feasts?

Having 6 older sisters so I rarely do housework or cook when whole my family

gathered. In addition, I am the kind of uncareful person who is able to break every thing

easily. Avoiding fault party, I have to eat remained food at the end of party that action

proved I appreciated the work of others.

- Is there a member of your family you are especially close to? Why?

I love my sister so much that I can do everything possibly for her bright future. I

observed all process in her life from her birth until her first day at school, so there are

invisible closely connection between us. I am likely stronger when I try to protect her

vulnerable mind from accidents.

Part 2

Describe a trip or a holiday you have recently taken.

I have just gone back from countryside where my grandfather settled in. traveling to

this countryside is annually held for my sister and I to visit my relations as well as having

a long holiday in summer vacation. My grandfather house is a 2 floor white large house

based on the center of a big garden with various kinds of fruit-tree. Walking on gravel

path through a big steel gate, I am full of feeling to be in a dreamland with natural

original scenery. I lived in a room on second floor having a window over big green lawn

where my brothers and I used to play football. There is also a fishing lake nearby that my

grand father and I usually went to go fishing at afternoon. Although I was not keen on

fishing at first, but in order to train my own patience and please my grandfather helped

me raise a hobby on fishing unconsciously. The satisfaction of achievement at the end of

fishing time was worthy of my effort. I gradually enjoyed the extremely disgusted task

such as digging worm. My love of this land required me to have useful environment

protective action, which is being damaged more and more seriously.

Part 3

Travel

- Describe how the tourism industry has developed in your area/other areas.

There are more and more hotels and souvenir shops where are opened to serve various

demands of travelers in my community. Handcraft is likely to be put out of business but

nowadays it attracted many workers with high incomes. Big and memorable festivals are

operated better in extent and quality. High tax is collected to develop welfare

subsidization and upgrade infrastructure.

- Describe what things your area offers tourists.

Because of possessing long historical areas and natural beauty sights, tourism industry in

my city always give top priority to sight seeing tours and handcraft shopping. Using

simply vehicle, which is made by 3 wheels in stranger frame, need manual labor to move

in the road. Moreover, the most striking feature of Hanoi is internal lake system, which

operate as a big conditioner to freshen city atmosphere.

- Evaluate what type of tourist’s tourism brings to your area.

There are many kind of tourists from all over the world who choosen Vietnam as

attractive destination to discovery mysteries of nature. Short period from 3 to 5 days is

suitable for busy people or long period is eligible for couples, mature people, even

travelers can choose to go around by themselves that is the most popular in students’

choice.

- How has tourism changed your area compared with how it used to be?

At the initial time of tourism industry, there are the critical changes in all aspects of our

city. Constructing policy of committee has considered how infrastructure be influenced

by enormous number of tourists. Big parks and entertainment centers are built to serve

various demands of travelers. Handcraft industry emerges as the most profitable business.

- Evaluate how tourism is good for the economy of a country.

It easily can be seen that tourism industry bring a huge of foreign currency into the

economy. Following the increase of travelers, many service commerce with incredible

profit are created solve completely high unemployed rate. Moreover, tourism is a kind of

non-smoke and friendly environment industry compared to others pollution industries.

- Speculate on what other benefits tourism might bring to a country.

The most striking benefit of tourism might bring to a country is clearly prospective co-

operated business with international companies. As I said before, service industry

consumes labor the most, as a result unemployment rate drop rapidly. As far as I

concerned, students have more occasions to contact with foreign travelers in foreign

languages and get mutual learning from other cultures.

Environmental and other problems

- Evaluate how the growth of tourism has affected the countryside and wildlife

in your area/country.

Looking in huge benefits of tourism does not mean that this industry has not any negative

sides. We need to define and assess to prevent these negative affected our community.

Huge amount of waste is the most serious damage that travelers caused to be harm for

environment. Besides, the increase of crime crisis significantly makes police exhausted to

control city peaceful. Other problem that damages of historical areas caused by tourism

visiting should be taken into account in order to make plan for reforming these at right

time.

- Discuss whether the advantages of tourism outweigh! Be disadvantages.

We can talk that the advantages of tourism to outweigh its disadvantages because this

commentary depends on special situation as well as protecting policy of that community

to prevent of damages caused by travelers. But I believe that if committee has right

policy, the advantages of tourism developed its economy and increased life standard of

citizens dramatically.

Part 1

I'd like you to tell me something about your studies and career. Is that okay?

- Are you studying, or do you have a job?

Although I have been graduated in accounting major at Hanoi finance academy but the

desire to gain higher education is still inflammable in my mind. Instead of finding a job, I

choose to study in foreign country with the support of my relatives who hope that I will

contribute the most for nation with knowledge gained from modern education system. It

is reason why I am here at the moment.

Study

- What exactly are you studying?

Present I have been studying English because international English certificate is

compulsory requirement to enroll a position at foreign university.

- Have you been studying it for a long time?

Although I have studied English for more than 5 years but my process in English skill is

barely to speak greeting. After one semester studying at international business certificate

at Auckland University of technology in New Zealand, my English skills had some

improvement as a result of good studying attitude. This is second time I have been in ielts

to examine how my English is.

- Why did you choose to study it?

As I said before, studying English help me enroll in foreign university successfully, as

well as I can widen my window in the world. In addition, I am here to speak with you. I

think this is the success I gained through studying English.

- Are you enjoying the course? Why? /Why not?

Absolutely, the more I learn the bigger information I do not know. In order to preparing

well training for my own, I have to study English harder through many methods such as

books, visual and listening materials and internet but the most attractive facility that I

used for studying English is English-tongue movies on television. This is useful module

in listening, and to be good for entertainment as well.

Part 2

Describe a film you've seen recently.

There are geography and similar culture connection between china and Vietnam, so I

find common sense and sympathy in Chinese movies. However, the most entertainment

boarding company I love the most is TVB that come form Hong Kong. Maybe this region

was affected by long time under England domination, as a result this culture are a mixture

of Asia cruel traditional culture and modern feature of western civilization. The latest

film I have just seen on TV comes from TVB. Its name is wealthy land. Movie plot

happened long time ago when “Thanh” empire was existence in china. At that time the

last empire exposed many defects that were not accordance with social improvement.

Family business in banking industry emerged to be the most potential profitable module

in old society. Through events happened in this film, it is the good way for me learning

Chinese history as well as banking history although we could aware of some modern

banking techniques used by director in order to make the film being more attractive. The

relentlessness of business was depicted in this movie made me be afraid. Watching this

film, I could not maintain my emotion and this means that the moviemaker was

successful. In comparison with Vietnamese entertainment industry, it takes one-decade

time for Vietnamese effort to catch up with that in neighbor country. This explains why

foreign movies are dominating almost of boarding time on television.

Part 3

Films

- What do you think makes a good film?

I think that the good film firstly has a logical and emotional plot. Once the plot is good,

audiences cannot feel boring and disappointed with unreal details of movies. However,

we also cannot overlook the affects of the fame of actors and actresses on a movie.

Nowadays, many experts consider that RP is the most important period to decide how

success of a movie is

- Evaluate the influence of violence in films on young people.

Parents protest movies produced recently by Hollywood with many violent scenes that

significantly influence on young people. Young people tend to act like what they saw on

TV. The mood of young audiences is more vulnerable than adults because they are not

impatient and unconscious of what rights or wrongs are.

- Compare the films made in your country with Hollywood films.

I can surely announce that money is invested on a Hollywood movie as much as

thousands times of that on Vietnamese film. While Hollywood movie is the best

condition in technology movie making, acting professional system and so on, Vietnamese

film equipments and film manufacturing are simply.

Music

- Compare modern music and traditional music in your country.

It is clearly that advantages of technology using in modern music creates variable choices

of many music kinds such as pop, rock, alternative and so on. to listeners. Traditional

music is accordance with small amount of audiences and live modules. So, this kind of

music is unpopular and unrenewable.

- Speculate how music can bring people together.

Although I am not kind of person who get used to joining in crowded activities but I

cannot imagine that how exciting I have at the first time in musical theaters. Classical

music is turned on when the mood of person is sad and grief-stricken or dance music

made people more active. I am very satisfied every meeting to discuss and share emotion

with others.

- Describe the most popular musicians/form of music in your country.

It is definitely that the most famous musician in Vietnam is trinh cong son. He composed

so many songs that are sung by old and young generations at sad time as well as happy

time. Thought trinh cong son songs, many singers created remarkable way access to

audiences. Hong nhung, a diva of Vietnam’s entertainment states that she still did not

discover all emotion of trinh cong son songs during over 20 years. Trinh cong son not

only was composer of intimate love song but also made revolution songs inspiring

national and race spirit in listeners.

Free time

Speaking Module Part 1

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

I have many hobbies but reading comic books takes me a lot of time. Vivid and

animate pictures fascinated readers in every detail. The feeling of waiting new periodical

books is published made me more exciting.

How much time do you have each week for doing these things?

I cannot assess how long I spend on reading comic books each week because this

time depends on publishing schedule. Although it is a short time to read a comic book but

I made a habit of reading a book at least three times. So, every time I am out of work, I

will spend on reading whatever I have nearby.

Why do you like doing these activities?

Writing module is one of the great achievements in human history. Books bring all

experiences and knowledge of human to be accumulated since ancient time; so reading

book not only helps people improve logical thinking but also created good reading habit

How did you start doing this activity at first?

When I was ten year old, comic book was quite expensive for a pupil’s afford. I had to

save money from whole week saving budget to buy a book. I can remember the moment

of touching in new favorite book that I had waited for a week time. I have never read a

book one time because the more time I read a book the better I understand the

sophisticate meaning of author notion. Until now, I appreciate what comic authors do for

readers.

Is there some other hobby or sport you would like to try? Why?

Absolutely, there are many kind of sports I want to try one time but the most attractive

sport to me is golf. Golf nowadays belongs to posh classic because of its expensive

equipment and club fees. If we can play golf, we have many occasions to get in touch

with celebrities and very important persons. I can learn good characters of them as well

as broaden my window of the world. Truthfully, I have never dream of affluent live or

being rich person but I really wish for enjoying a day in beautiful house and luxury

restaurant with my friends.

How has the way people spend their free time changed over the years?

In 10 years ago, people spent almost their free time to go nature outside picnic with

family or visit relations but this habit had run out. Today, the most relaxing activities of

people are watching TV or surfing on Internet. These activities not only bring happiness

for players but also enrich their knowledge and information.

remember to include reasons and examples. You should then speak for between one and

two minutes.

Describe the person in your family who you most admire.

You should say:

What they have done in their life

What they do now

And explain why you admire them so much.

Family

Speaking Module Part 3

Attitudes to family

In what ways have families in your country

Changed in recent years?

In last decade, a family has 3 or 4 generations contained more than 10 persons who lived

together under a roof. Younger generations respected their forefathers and learn their

precious experiences. Doing house works and taking care baby are kinds of tasks that

older can do to help youth generations. But nowadays nuclear family is popular module

instead of big family. According to youth notion, the most priority to make a family is

privacy.

Should husbands and wives have different roles within the family?

There is old sentence that “man build house, women build home”. Husbands’ role is to

fight for bread and bear different tasks in a family while women’s role is to rear their

children and take care house works. But nowadays the house works do not destine for

women or men exactly because the women ‘s liberation movement.

Family or friends

Which are more important to you: your family or your friends?

It is difficult to define what more important thing is between family and friends. Our

friends who are willing to share merriness and sadness as well as give a hand to us once

we are in difficult condition. There are, sometime, secrets that can be told with friends

because of same age sympathy. In contrary to friends, family members are people who

always are with us at all situations.

What conflicts can arise between a person's family and a person's friends?

Parents always worry that bad friends will have bad influence on their children. So, they

try to control their children friendship and deter their children from making friends with

unclear or divorced family peers. But I think that the best way parent can do to help their

children be helpful adult is to be the friend having the best influence on their children.

Family responsibilities

What responsibilities do parents have towards their children?

The obligation of parent toward their adult is definite in regulation of national. Law is not

my favors subject so my knowledge in this aspect is not good to explain exactly what it

is. But I surely state that parent should supply for their children a necessary living

condition and happy home to grow up until 18 year old.

And what responsibilities do children have towards their parents?

As I told before, I am not good at law but I am, myself, a son of the best parent I have

ever seen. I think that the most responsibilities of children toward their parents is

Part 1: PA

What sorts of food do you enjoy eating most?

Well your question is very exciting and I think it's hard for me to say exactly what sorts

of food I enjoy eating most. Vietnamese food is major in my meals; we usually eat rice,

fish or meat and vegetable in a normal meal. Sometimes I like eating noodle such as

"bun, mien, and pho". I believe if you have ever tasted our food, you will easily be

attracted to it. In addition I also like eating seafood pizza at the weekend.

Do you spend much time shopping for food?

Actually everyday I have to go to university so I don't have much time to go shopping for

food. But whenever I have free time, I try to go to markets with my grandma to find out

what is new. In my opinion, buying fresh food is really difficult, and I need to learn more

from my mum and my grandma, who cook much better than me. At the weekend, we

spend about 2 or 3 hours to go shopping for food to restore in the whole week.

Which do you prefer, eating at home or eating in restaurants?

Truthfully in some cases I feel that eating in restaurants is more convenient and more

comfortable. But above all, I prefer eating at home. At the meal, the whole family gets

together and I feel the warm and safe atmosphere. No other places give me these feelings.

On the other hand eating at home is one of our tradition and custom.

Do you think people should be careful about what they eat?

Uhm…I think your question is rather difficult but it is also an exciting one. There is no

doubt that what we eat is very important because it directly affect our health. Being

careful about food before eating is always necessary. It is the best way to avoid some

certain diseases such as digestive problems, food poisoning, etc.

Part 2:

Describe a town you have enjoyed visiting.

You should say: Why you went to the town? Who you saw there? What you did

there? Explain why you enjoyed visiting the town.

I have visited many towns in my country and with me each one has its own attraction.

But today I'd like to recommend one town I enjoyed most. It is a small and very poor

town located in Yen Hoa`. I don't recall the town's name but it made a strong impression

on me and my friends. To celebrate a program to raise funds for charity, we decided to

visit the town to do research. The first feeling was that this town was too poor for

inhabitants to support their own families. Almost adults or even adolescents had come to

big cities to find work; there were only the old, children and weak women in the town,

who had to work hard all day on the fields. But their income was still very low, about

under 10$ a day. Imagine how you can live with only 10$. On the first day, we made a

survey about how they earn a living bygiving questionnaires. And on the second day, I

and my friends supplied them several basic medicine to protect usual diseases. The

visiting lasted only 2 days, after that we had to come back the city. However the town's

life and people living there taught me to love the poor, to regard what we own. The most

important I realized is that when I graduate I should devote my life and my knowledge to

developing our country. These meanings made me enjoy the town among other visiting.

Part 3:

1. What are the kinds of things people like to do when visiting towns and cities?

As far as I know, activities are very different between visiting a town and a city. In cities,

particularly big cities people will need more money because every thing seems to be

more expensive. They tend to visit entertainment centers, museums to learn more about

the city, famous sightseeing, and etc. Visitors usually stay in hotels and eat in restaurants.

But when they visit towns, they will find various feelings. Living near nature, eating

simple will teach them many good things.

2. Why do many people prefer to live in cities rather in the countryside?

Whether living in a big city or in a quiet countryside has not only advantages but

disadvantages as well. In my view, city is more suitable for young generation who need

challenges and chances to apply for good jobs. On the other hand, entertainment,

comfortable transport and health care attract people a lot. But many not all people like

living in city, as I can see almost old people prefer life in the countryside, which is quiet,

safe and clean.

3. Can you identify some of the main problems of living in large cities?

With the development of society, people today have to face many problems in large

cities. The first and most important issue is pollution such as air, noise, or water

pollution, which is harmful to our health. The next one is traffic jam. We waste not only

time but also money because of it. And I think last but not least high crime rate is a

serious problem nowadays.

4. What measures could be taken to reduce problems of congestion in cities?

Well, it is a complex issue today, I think to reduce it, first of all governments should limit

cars driven in rush hours. We should encourage people to use more public transport or

instead of using private cars, people can walk or cycle. I believe it is a good way to

improve our health. Besides, authorities may broaden roads and streets to reduce

problems of congestion in cities. I hope that in the future the governments will find the

best solutions to them

Part 1

* Do you work or study?

- I finished University in 1990 and I have been working for sixteen years. I work in

tropical center now. It is located in Hoang Quoc Viet Street.

* Can you describe your job to me?

- I am biochemist. I am researching biotechnology. My objects are microorganism

enzymes. I have to culture bacteria from which we can extract the essential enzyme. I

create the recombination ones that are based on bacterial genome and they will be useful

with medicine and industry.

* How long have you been doing it?

- I have been doing this work for five years. Before, I did analyses of human blood

parameters and did some epidemical surveys on children in countryside.

* Why did you choose to do that job?

- Five years ago, I did my master dissertation at The Institute of Biotechnology. My tutor

is famous scientist in enzyme field and suggested me to do thesis on this area. After that I

am attracted in this problem and decided to choose this work.

* What thing do you enjoy about your work? Why?

- The thing I enjoy is benefit that work brings to us. While the chemical medicines

always have two sides: useful and harmful effects, the biological medicines are more

safety for human.

* What things don't you like? Why not?

- The thing I am dislike is the long hour working in the lab. Usually, I have to spend no

less than ten hours every day due to the experimental demand. So I can spend a little time

for my family.

There are both side of my job, but I think the advantages overweigh the disadvantages at

all.

* What are your plans for the future?

- I am postgraduate student now and I am going to finish my Doctor dissertation after two

years. Then I will plan for longer distance. May be I will apply for a new position, but it

is possible only.

Part2

* Describe your favorite shop (Where is it, what thing it sells, what sort of people are its

customers, explain why you like the shop so much)

The favorite shop I want to describe is furniture shop named "Beauty house". It is

located in Ngoc Khanh street.

There are many kinds of furniture with various styles: from ancient to modern. If

you like something is modern, you can choose the things made in Hong Kong or Europe

countries. In contract, The Chinese furniture gives us ancient style.

At the weekends, this place is full of housewife and theirs counterparts. They come here

to hope for choosing something is suitable for their home. In this shop, I have bought a

modern complex of furniture including a bed, a desk, chairs and wardrobe. They are extra

nice and I feel satisfied after my shopping.

The owner of the shop is the friend of our family more exactly he is my father's

friend. He is famous businessmen and also has other big shops in Ho Chi Minh city. I like

this shop very much because not only its owner is our friend, but also because of quality

and variety of goods.

Part 3

* What typical things can visitors to your country buy?

- Viet Nam is known by famous handcrafts. Everywhere in our country the visitors can

find a variety of bamboo things. One of these kinds is the hat. Our hats are made in

different regions, but the best are Hue hats. It is typical thing of Viet Nam. If you buy it,

you can realize how it is useful in summer.

* What things do young people like to buy in your country?

- The young people usually have trend to choose something is cheap because of small

budget. Most of young visitors to our country are students and they don't have a lot of

money. The things they like to buy are strings of shell or something made by shell. They

are very nice and cheap at all.

* Is it a good idea to save money? Why (not)?

- We can't dictate what will be happened in the future. The life is full of risks and the

certain budget is essential in case, so saving money is good idea I think.

* Do you think that people are happier if they have money? Why (not)?

- The money is always necessary for human needs. Only small number of money could

help the poor people overcome difficulties in their life and make them happier. In

contract, money sometime is cause of crimes and wars. So money not always makes

people happier.

* What can shops do to make shopping more pleasant for their customers?

- The thing that shops can do for their customers is the best after-sales services. The

customers then can feel more secure about their shopping and could buy goods with the

pleasant.

* Do you think that in the future people will do most of their shopping using the internet?

Why (not)?

- It is not doubt, the internet bring us enormous benefit in shopping. With only press in

the button you can immediately receive the things you want. By contract, it has many

disadvantages. You can't see real colour, can't touch and try them. So the shopping on the

internet is not the best way I think.

Speaking 11

Part 1

* What do you do when you have a holiday?

- My husband and I are officers, so we are very busy. We usually give the days out of

work for our son. In these occasions, we organize the journeys.

* Where do you like to spend your holidays? Why?

- In summer holiday we usually go to resorts, where we can take the sun and swim all

day. It is way to relax best. The resort I like is Cua Lo because it is my husband's

hometown. We can both relax on the beach and visit husband's parents.

* Can you describe a typical day in your holidays?

- The typical day in my holidays I can describe is the day in Cua lo. We get up early to go

to the sea because the sun light is very strong during the day. After lunch we have some

reading or watching television until 3 pm when the sun shines more weakly. We go to sea

again and stay here for dinner. When the sun is down, it is time to walk on the beach and

hear the sounds of the sea. The day in Cua Lo is extremely wonderful indeed.

* Why are holidays important to you?

- The holidays bring us many benefits. The work presure can make you neuvously and

the holidays will help you to reduce stress. Morever, through a holiday the members in

the family feel closer and more understand each other. So the holidays are very important

* If you could take holiday anywhere in the world, where would you go? Why?

- If I have money enough to travel over the world, the fist place I want to go to is

China. There are many magnificent palaces, impressive scenes and specially there are

plenty of goods that I can choose freely.

Part 2

* Describe a school which you went to (when you went there, how many people studied

there, how long you spent there, explain what you liked and disliked about it)

When I was six years old, I went to primary school Trung Vuong. It is the best

school in Ha Noi then. The school is located on Hang Bai street today.

There were twenty four pupils in my class, including ten girls and fourteen boys.

The total number of pupil in my school was around one thousand. It is a bit litle compare

to other school on that period. We had been there for five years, until when I went to

higher class.

My school was built by French, so it had Europian style with high, big classrooms

and large yard. I could say that, it was beautifull indeed. My teacher was Mr Than. He

was the best teacher of school. He always called us "my children". We loved him very

much. I didn't find anything that I dislike about my beloved school.

Part3

* What do people learn from travelling?

- It is said that "go more and learn more". When we visit certain place, we can see how

the residents live, what are their customs or in other words we can further understand

their culture.

* Do you think the growth of international tourism is a good thing? Why (not)?

- The growth of international tourism leeds to raise the income of origin countries. With

the increase in number of visitors, the services are expanded. As the results, many jobs

are created and the unemployment is reduced. Morever, tourism makes the peoples over

the world to be closer.

* How has tourism changed the way people in your country live?

- As I have said, the tourism let to raise the income, so the life standard increased too. It

changed the life style of people in my country. Many entertaintment services apeared,

many foreinge culture tendencies were imported affecting the youth. Our life was busier

and harryer.

How should tourists behave when they visit your country?

- We are always welcom you to visit our country. When you come here, the fist thing you

should remember is that every country has own culture and it isn't the same in your

country. Respect our culture please and you will be respected too.

* What do you think is the best way for a tourist to travel if they want to learn about your

country?

- It is said that seing always is better than listening. If you want to learn about our

country, come to us please. The practice differentiates more far with the books and the

travelling is the best way to learn indeed.

* What are the advantages and disadvantages of travelling by plane?

- Every thing has its own advantages as well as disadvantages, and plane isn't an

exception. The distances are insignificant with planes, the peoples are being closer.

Otherwise, planes can cause the air polution and some time serious accidents. However,

the positive side overweighs the negative, and I can confirm that planes bring us

enormous benefit.

Speaking

Part 1

Can you describe your town or village to me?

- I was born in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam in east-south Asia. Although my

hometown is Nghean where is a cradle of revolution. Personally, I considered

Hanoi like my hometown because of the connection with my childhood

memorize.

What jobs do people in your town do?

- Hanoi has same features of big cities in common with others in the world as well.

Almost labourforce work for official and commercial in case agriculture being

main business in Vietnam. By old housing architect and internal lake system

made Hanoi be prominent like the most attractive tourism destination of Asia. So

working in rough paths around lakes is likely to be popular hobby not only for

mature people but also to me, a member of youth generation.

What things are there to do in your town in your free time?

- However, Vietnamese government tries to invest millions of dollar in order to

conservate historical areas in Hanoi but forcing to follow civilization process,

many changes in Hanoi have happened for past twenty years. New sky-scarves,

mordent houses, traffic are appearanced to alternate old infrastructure. Instead of

getting close relationship with socialization countries in last century only,

Vietnamese leaders are still spreading new worldwide-cooperated idea. This trend

is proved by world-summit conferences, being a member of WTO.

Part 2

What do you like about your town?

- After graduated at my university, I have to decide between settling a carrier and

getting process in my own education. At that time, the letter from Auckland

University informed me about success of my post-graduated enrolment.

How has your town changed over the last twenty years?

- Arriving in new country orientated me in the way that I have never imaginated

before. Until I was born, I have not ever lived in a stranger place without my

family members’ appearance. By beloved emotion to me, my mother tried to

protect me out of all complex situations in social life. I do not know this is good

or bad for me but I was used to living with helplessness from others. It is likely

that I was shocked immediately when I have stepped the first pace in new airport.

- Being isolated in thousands hurry people with English limited skill, I had waited

in nervous for an hour before went around to find my agent who I had never met.

Because of pushing heavy luggage’s I made the flower vase in a souvenir shop

broken while I tried to buy a phone card and call for agents. At least, saying sorry

and paying compensation for shop’s owner were solely things that I could do. 2

hours after, finally I reached my homstay with friendly greets from my homestay

parents. New Zealand meal was not bad as I thought. Tiding up my room, I fatly

fell in sleep with tiredness to prepare for on-going obstacles waited me on next

day. I am here; actually, I have overcome all of troubles after that.

Part 3

In what ways is life becoming safer, and in what ways is it becoming more

dangerous?

- It is difficult to define what is safe or dangerous event. These concepts depend on

special situation and one option. In my opinion, safe life help people enjoyed

beautiful life but dangerous things are a wonderful seasoning of life to make our

life be more diverous. Through dangerous drawbacks, we not only train our

stamina but also help us aware of new vision of life.

Should people always avoid danger. or is it a good idea sometimes to take risks?

- There are, however, some risks that we should avoid. Taking drug, for example, is

a bad thing we have never experienced. Drugs contain many chemical substances

that make us abuse as well as harmful for our health. How rich your family is,

your money cannot be enough for using drug. In addition, I think that growing

older people should not try to experience active sport such as Karate, Taewondo,

and Judo. Because these sports are harmful for our heart and be easy to get serious

accidents. But if you have played them for long time, you could continue playing

with logical method.

What risks should people try to avoid?

Do you think people take fewer risks as they grow older? Why (not)?

- I really like to have adventure happened in my life. Overcoming it, I will find out

new competence as well as have good experiences confronted to events

accidentally. After that, I can revise and analyze what was happened and have

useful real lesson for another event that I must to face in the future.

Speaking 2:

Part 1

- What sports are most popular in your country?

There are many kinds of sport played by Vietnamese but the most favorite sport in

all regions actually is football. Football called king of sport attracts crowd of

people because of its team spirit and players’ skillful, not to mention access to

playing easily. Standing among thousands of people in stadium make class gap

among people broken and to be integrated into sport atmosphere.

- What sports and games did you most enjoy playing when you were a child?

Almost plain kind of games were played by me when I was a child. Like other

children were same ages as me, I used to spend most time for playing outside

games and intendo games contrast to mordent children’s schedule nowadays. If I

had to choose a game I like the most during my childhood, I would vote for

“running and chasing” game due to serious wound that incise many scars on my

body until now.

- Do people take as much exercise as in the past?

In my opinion, I support for idea that people are likely to pay more and more

attention on protecting their health. Balance diet and effective exercise method are

the most important things to boost human’s immunise system. Indoors gyms with

training coaches make people easier joining in exercise in short time. So, time

period and serious attitude people nowadays paying in exercise are better and

longer than us in the past.

- Why is good exercise good for you?

Consuming a medicine is not a good way to protect us being out of epidemic.

Especially, western medicine methods have both effects to our health, negative side

and positive side. Besides, overcoming an illness period your health has to suffer

harmful damages. So doing exercise regularly is important advice given by doctor

in order to strengthen your health confronting with virus.

Part 2

- Describe a special occasion when you had a really enjoyable meal?

Korean culture wave spreaded across almost all asia countries and vietnam is not a

exception. Korean movies, showbiz stars and actually korean tradition food like

kimchi are become more and more popular in vietnam. The enjoyable meal in a

korean restaurant came to me incidentally with a my relations’invitation. At that

time korean restaurant was quite dear for low income of vietnamese, so that was the

first time I have been in proper tradition korean restaurant. My cousin choosed beef

BBQ and kimchi noodle soup before having rice cake for the dessert. It was

difficult for me to have a meal in korean ancient use. Hanging slices of beef over

small flame untill they gradually have brown colour as a pinpoint to be really for

eating. By guide of cook, wraping a slice of meat and seasonings into cabbage leaf

is good way to enjoy fully scent of meal. This meal for me was an occation not

only to train my patience but also to discovery a foreign country’s culture deeply.

Part 3

- In what ways are newspapers better for learning about the news than listening to

the radio or watching tv?

Personally, I absolutely support for the opinion learning about the news through

newpapers is better for viewers than other media. Studying English is the hard

task for me year by year, so it is very difficullt for me understanding what is news

taking about in english. However all of the news resources stated by english set a

trouble how I receive of them without newspaper. Besides, reading newpaper help

me accumulate rich vocabulary and variety way to express own opinion.

- Do you think newpapers should be completely free to say whatever they want?

Every government enacted its media regulations being suitable for the regime in

that nation because media is the fastest and powerful mode affecting civils’

awareness. With only wrong article in newpapers and misunderstanding

commentations on tv could raised a unti-government wave of people in order to

gain peaceful among all class in society. Being free to say whatever they want in

newpapers sometime is put in jail.

- What do people enjoy reading in your country?

This depends on what kind of people and every cirrcumstance are. Teenager

wants to know about showbiz star’s life instead of news about changes of policy.

Businessmen spent far much time reading economic and financial news but they

do not know what the modern stylish wearing is. For me, I usually buy newpaper

posting articles of education because my present aim is to enrolment a

postgraduated course in a foreign country.

- What do you think it is important for people to read a lot?

As I said before, reading a book or a newpapers is not only help we gain many

imformation and be relax after long hours work, but also expand our vocabulary

as well as supplying many ways to express opinions. By variety forms to tranfer

your idea to other, we avoid many misleading regrettably. In addition, rich

knowledge and police speaking respected by listenning is another positive side of

reading habit.
