Modulo 6 Speaking Test Part 1   4 minutes Instructor    Hello. My name is ………… and this is …………… He/she is just going to listen to us.   And your names are ……………………? First we would like to know something about you so I am going to ask you some questions about yourselves. Remember that you have only about a minute and a half for this so do not worry if I interrupt you. 1. What kind of work do the m ajority of people in your town do? 2. What job do you hope to do in the future? 3. What do you usually do during your holidays? 4. Which member of your family are you closest to? 5. What part of the world would you especially like to visit, and why? 6. Could you tell me something about the town y ou live in? 7. What are your plans for the next few years? 8. What do you like best about your studies? 9. Do you come from a large family or a small one? 10. Do you have any brothers or sisters or are you an only child? 11. Are the members in your family close to each other 12. Which member of your family do you have the closest relationship with? Why? 13. Do you enjoy talking to older members of your family? Why (not)? 14. Do all the members of your family live near one another? 15. Do any members of your family live far away/abroad? 16. Do you prefer to spend your free time with your family or with your friends? Part 2   3 minutes Instructor    Now I'd like each of you to talk on your own for about a minute. I am going to give each of you two different photographs and I'd like you to talk about them. Remember that you have only about a minute for this so do not worry if I interrupt you. (Give pictures to first student)   These pictures show people enjoying a vacation. I's like you to compare and contrast these photos and say which of the people you think are having the best time. (Listen to first student and when he/she finishes give pictures to second stud ent)   Here are your pictures. They show people doing different jobs. I'd like you to compare and contrast these pictures and say how much you would like doing these jobs. Remember that you have only about a minute for this so do not worry if I interrupt you. Part 3   3 minutes Instructor    Now I'd like you to talk about something together for about three minutes. I'm just going to listen.  A club at your school has asked you to ch oose two types of jo bs which w ould be in teresting f or the stud ents to learn about to and then discuss. Here are the types of jobs they are considering. (Place picture sheet in fro nt of the candidates.)   First talk to each other about how interesting these different types of jobs would be. Then decide which two would be the best for students to discuss. You have only about three minutes for this. So, once again, don't worry if I stop you, and please speak so that we can hear you. All right? Instructor  (when students finish) Thanks very much. Could you please send in the next pair of students.

(Give pictures to first student)  These pictures show people enjoying a vacation. I's like you to compare and

contrast these photos and say which of the people you think are having the best time.

Part 3  – 3 minutes 

Instructor   – Now I'd like you to talk about something together for about three minutes. I'm just going to listen.

 A club at your school has asked you to choose two types of jobs which would be interesting for the students to

learn about to and then discuss. Here are the types of jobs they are considering.

(Place picture sheet in fro nt of the candidates.)  First talk to each other about how interesting these differenttypes of jobs would be. Then decide which two would be the best for students to discuss. You have only aboutthree minutes for this. So, once again, don't worry if I stop you, and please speak so that we can hear you. Allright? 

Instructor – (when students finish)Thanks very much. Could you please send in the next pair of students.
