The stall was located in a prominent position with imposing view and spread over 2500 sq. m. outdoor area consisting of an aesthetically-designed and built up two-floor stall. L&T displayed a stunning range of Komatsu machines, representing the best-in-class technology in construction equipment industry. Komatsu PC210LC Superlong was the star attraction in this Excon 2013 edition and stood majestically in the stall. Scania had an exclusive participation area in the stall. In the pavilion, a separate theatre with seating facility showcased KOMTRAX, the L&T’s Magnificent Show at Excon 2013 exclusive and user-friendly feature on Komatsu PC210 machines, that helps the customer to track the machine and monitor its performance online. Customers could engage with L&T team in the comfort of conference halls as well as discussion rooms in the pavilion. In the Parts Room, there was a lot of enthusiasm amongst customers. They had the opportunity to view an entire range of Komatsu Genuine Parts that were on display. Customers eagerly interacted with the team on the optimum performance of equipment, higher uptime and related benefits of using Genuine Parts. For the first time, L&T Parts Team had put up a table-top demo unit of bubble test – used for filtration purposes. Customers participated enthusiastically in discussions and demonstrations with L&T team. L&T had also on display PC210 and PC200 reconditioned engines and pumps that were refurbished at its Service Centre in Kanchipuram. The customers discussed with the team from Service Centres on the value-added offerings that were extended to them. L&T Hydraulics too made its presence at Excon with table-top display of miniature working model of a closed-circuit hydrostatic drive used for coal-handling applications. PC450LC excavator, which is popular in the mid-mining segment amongst private contractors.
Besides Komatsu PC210 Superlong attachment, which finds applications in urban area and ditch cleaning activity, other Hydraulic Excavators on display were Komatsu PC210LC-HD for quarry application, PC130/PC71 Standard and Quarry variants, PC300LC, PC300LC-Mighty for the marble segment and the PC450 models. The quarry variants have been specially developed with reinforced structures, toughened undercarriage and improved safety features. D85ESS Dozer and GD555 Motor Grader were also on display. L&T’s own product L&T 9020 Wheel Loader, developed with in-house technology, attracted immense interest amongst visitors from the crusher segment.

The newly-launched Komatsu PC210 Superlong machine – which evinced keen interest amongst customers

High-powered branding of L&T, Komatsu and Scania ensured that the stall got significant all-round visibility. Flags added to the charm and the perimeter walls with visuals of machines gave a new focus to the stall. As sponsors of Excon 2013, L&T branding was visible in all commercial collaterals used in the exhibition - from stage drops and branding screens to product standees. L&T, being pioneers in the excavator industry in
India and one of the foremost engineering companies participating in the show, had a huge draw of engineering students.
Over 1800 people including customers visited the L&T stall and 45 machine hand-overs were witnessed during the five-day event. Prominent customers who visited the stall included Mr. V. Prabhakar Reddy, MD, M/s. VPR Mining Infra Pvt. Ltd., Mr. A.K.Sarkar, Director(Technical), BCCL and Mr. P.K. Roychoudhury, Director(Technical), SECL. Coinciding with the event, Confederation of Indian Industry brought out daily editions of Excon News which featured an exclusive interview with Mr. J.P. Nayak on the industry perspective and special coverage of L&T’s participation in the exposition.
