• OUR MISSION - WHAT WE SET OUT TO ACHIEVE

To establish an insurance company that will be a reference point in terms of customer satisfaction, new product development and excellent claims ser-vices in the Nigerian insurance industry.

We hope to achieve this by putting together a highly motivated workforce and state-of-the-art office technology, and undertaking regular market re-search.

In all these, we are committed to in-tegrity and good business ethics.

• THE COMPANY - E. A.

EQUITY ASSURANCE PLC (The Com-pany/”EA”) was incorporated on 13th December, 1984 with registration num-ber RC. 65443 and was licensed by the then office of the Director of Insurance to underwrite all classes of general business.

E. A., operates with a recently in-creased authorised share capital of N7 billion and shareholders fund of about N5.1 billion. Gross premium income has grown tremendously from N863 million in 2004 to N3.2 billion in 2011.

E.A. is a corporate member of the West African Insurance Company As-sociation (WAICA), Nigerian- South Af-rican Chamber of Commerce and the Nigeria Insurers’ Association (NIA), the official umbrella of registered insurance companies in Nigeria, as well as The Af-rica Insurance Organisation (AIO).

Equity Assurance in its three decades of existence has grown from a non-life insurance Service Provider to a Finan-cial Services Group with diversified in-terests in Healthcare Management and Hospitality Services.

The company also has presence in Ghana and Liberia. This has enhanced its corporate position and further rein-forces the vision of being a leading In-surance Group in Africa.

Incorporated in 1984, Equity Assur-ance is the merger of Equity Indemnity Insurance Limited and First Assurance Plc. The company has built a legacy of trust and a tradition of excellence in its three decades of existence.

Equity Assurance leverages on its wealth of experience and strong net-works to build a company that values innovation, technology and its people. This has translated into sustainable growth for the company over the years. Listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange, Equity Assurance now records premi-um income in billions.

The strength and credibility of an in-surer is tested by its response to claims. This has formed part of its strategic thrust over the years. Prompt claims settlement and excellent service de-livery will continue to be on the front burner of the company’s value chain.

Equity Assurance remains committed to delivering on its brand promise of re-warding trust.

Our Strategy:Equity Assurance Plc’s strategy is

based on the principle of derivation: knowing the needs of the customer and providing tailor-made solutions to meet and exceed those needs. The strategy is hinged on service, people and cutting edge technology.Equity Assurance boasts of a wide branch network in Nigeria and Ghana. This enhances insurance penetration, thus taking insurance from the urban to re-mote parts of Africa. The same will be replicated in the Liberia subsidiary and others in the pipeline.

The company has continued to make strategic investments in research and development (R&D), training and de-ploying latest, relevant technology to its advantage. The result of this is a wide range of distribution and e-com-merce channels.

The company’s investment in cut-ting-edge technology helps to improve its internal processes and distribution networks making its products more ac-cessible and available on-the-go.

Future Outlook:Equity Assurance Plc aims to con-

tinually explore opportunities in stra-tegic partnerships while expanding its spread across the African continent.

Built on sound management princi-ples, the focus of the company’s activi-ties is to seek continuous improvement in business processes, risk manage-ment, service delivery and customer experience.
