Spectralink IP-DECT Server 400 and 6500 and Wi-Fi 84-Series Wireless Solutions Qualified for Microsoft® Lync® 2013 Spectralink Also Achieves Microsoft Gold Communication Competency Boulder, Colo. and Horsens, Denmark – November 19, 2013 Spectralink Corporation (Spectralink), a global leader in wireless solutions for the workplace, is the first company to offer enterprise wireless IP communication solutions that have been qualified for Microsoft® Lync® 2013. The qualification applies to the DECT product line, with the Spectralink IP-DECT Server 400 and 6500 and handsets, as well as the 84-Series Wi-Fi handsets. Additionally, Spectralink achieved its status as a Microsoft Gold Communications Partner. Lync - Microsoft's industry leading unified communications system has firmly established itself as a leader in Unified Communications market in the 2013 Gartner Magic Quadrant. Spectralink’s mobile devices are the only in-building wireless solutions to be tested and approved by Microsoft for use with Lync. This qualification gives Spectralink a unique advantage in the market, enabling it to extend its sales reach and assure customers and prospects of the quality and compatibility of its solutions. “At Spectralink we are committed to providing customers with in-building solutions that work with a wide range of market leading Unified Communications (UC) systems, and therefore we’re excited to achieve Gold Communications competency partner status with Microsoft,” said Sten Dyrmose, CEO at Spectralink. “The launch of Lync 2013, and the integration opportunities presented by the acquisition of Skype has solidified Microsoft’s status as one of the leading enterprise voice providers worldwide. Many businesses, both large and small are looking to Lync as an integral part of their UC roadmap and it’s essential that our products can support that move.” The Spectralink IP-DECT Server 400 and 6500 and handsets, as well as the 84-Series Wi-Fi handsets that have been qualified on Lync 2013 are directly interoperable with Microsoft Lync, eliminating the need for a gateway between the technologies. Direct integration reduces both the complexity of implementation and the associated cost of hardware and support services. Using Spectralink’s purpose-built wireless devices, businesses can combine Microsoft Lync with applications and tools customized for specialized working environments such as healthcare, manufacturing and retail. Spectralink is already working on a number of Lync implementations, including its deployment at L’Occitane Group and La Francaise Group.
