• Getting to Work:Ryan will need to be shown how to ride the bus and where to walk once he exits the bus. He will need to enter the mall, walk straight through, and come out at the other end to find Dick’s and AMC Theatres. The bus ride home should also be modeled for Ryan. He may need to be shown more than once, but Ryan does well with routines and should get the hang of it quickly.

• At work: Ryan will need the support of a job coach during the beginning of his employment; once the job coach is phased out, Ryan’s supervisor will become his support and use the checklist to keep up with Ryan’s progress at work.

• Daily Living Skills:Shopping: Ryan will need his mother to drive him to the grocery store and monitor his shopping making sure he gets all of the items on his listCooking: Ryan likes to feel “independent,” but his parents will be near while he cooks to make sure that he keeps himself and his family safeLaundry: Ryan will have his checklist, and may require some guidance from his family when it comes to using the particular machine in his house. He will need to be reminded that if he is unsure of how to wash something, he can look on the label on the inside of the garment.

• Health/Fitness Supports:Ryan's supervisor/mentor/job coach will accompany him to the gym.  They will guide ryan in his workout and help him with any social difficulties he may have. He will provide assistance if ryan needs, but allow Ryan to be as independent as possible.  Ryan will be closely supervised when using gym equipment to ensure safety.  Ryan and his supervisor will both fill out his checklist.

• Recreation:Ryan will need a ride to whatever hiking location he attends.  He can go with either a family member or a friend.  Ryan will bring his checklist and try to be cognizant of his social interactions.  Ryan will need help navigating the website to find out which hiking trip he wishes to attend.
