INTRODUCTION A system that automatically capturing image of a moving vehicle and recording data parameters, such as date, time, speed operator, location, etc. on the image.

The system uses a single camera mounted on a pole or other tall structure ,looking down on the traffic scene.. Hardware is microcontroller.

It calculates the speed of the vehicle.

It is used for detecting and classifying vehicles in multiple lanes and for any direction of traffic flow.

IR SENSOR contains, IR TRANSMITTER consists of IR LED. It will transmit IR rays continuously when the voltage have anode and cathode lead of IR LED.

IR RECEIVER is a 3 pin device incorporating surface mount IC which has the following blocks:

1. Photo detector 2. Preamplifier 3. Filter 4. Demodulator

RF TRANSMITTER & RECEIVER RF TRANSMITTER is

given through encoder which will send all the data serially to the transmitter. In transmitter, all the data will get modulated and it will transmit at a frequency of 434 Mhz.

This decoder will receive the data from RF receiver and it will latch the output .The micro controller will get this input and program in the memory

SOFTWARE IMPLEMENTATIONTHE SOFTWARE WE USED IN THIS SYSTEM ARE

RIDE C, KEIL C COMPILER, (If Microcontroller is

AT89s52) UNIPRO (for Writing the microcontroller)MP LAB INTEGRATION

Page 14: Speed Control and Detection of Moving Motor Vehicles by Using Cameras by Naresh.G

RIDE is a fully featured Integrated Development Environment that provides editing to compiling, linking, debugging and back to the start, with a Simulator, ICE, Rom Monitor or other debugging tool.KEIL is a cross compiler. Compilers are programs used to convert a High Level Language to object code , i.e. hex file.UNIPRO is a universal microcontroller simulator, it runs under windows operating system. UMPS are able to simulate external components connected to the microcontroller. MPLAB Integrated Development Environment (IDE) is a free, integrated toolset for the development of embedded applications between tools is a snap, and upgrading from the free simulator to MPLAB ICD 2 or the MPLAB ICE emulator is done in a flash.

APPLICATIONS

The system uses a single camera mounted on a pole or other tall structure ,looking down on the traffic scene.

A key objective was to ensure that people are made fully aware of the speed cameras are for road safety purposes and is not for the raise of revenue.

Speed detection is carried out based on the time lag between two images.

ADVANTAGES Data detection on all vehicles (plate, vehicle class, speed) Automatic verification, and print of the speed limit violation. Automatic sent of the violation data to the Police server. A link with a server located inside the police intranet to send data of fines. A link with P.R.A. (National Plate data base). A link with the Police client for fine management. Many police clients installed over the police intranet used for verification and fine transmission to the vehicle owner. Average speed control system that allows automatic sanctioning without Police patrol presence.

CONCLUSION

Now we would like to believe that enforcement cameras are there for our on good and make our roads safer. These cameras were highly visible then no one would travel by them exceeding the speed limit and they would do their job. Used as they hidden away, they are penalized and contribute little to road safety directly only generating revenue to pay for their installation and maintenance. Despite nearly 4000 driver caught, more than one per minute on average, not one single accident but was reported by the police which just showed that, speedier offer a little towards improving road safety but do an awful lot to generate revenue for the local police and local authorities. Although road safety strategists are introduced to reduce the number of people killed and serious injured that is to support new casualty reduction largest. So on utilizing the strategies in the right way, we can reduce 40 percent it of accidents by the year of 2010.
