Adding a New TrackBelow we will demonstrate how to add a new Track from scratch. Suppose we are preparing for a Track day to Miller Motorsports Park in the US this weekend, and we would like to have the official Start/Finish of this Track set up in the dashboard beforehand.

Designating a Track to Start EditingFirst, pick an empty Track. Right click on the Track name to open menu. Click on "Use this Track" to start editing it.

Now you can see the date and time information followed by eight empty Line folders. The date and time of this Track is synced to your current computer time automatically. Among the eight Line folders, the first one is the Start/Finish of this Track by default. The following seven folders are for Sectors. Whether you are setting up a Start/Finish or a Sector, the procedure is the same. Below we will demonstrate how to set up a Start/Finish Line.

Setting up a LineRight click on the first empty Line to open menu. Click on "Use this sector or FL" to open the folder. You will see "lat, lon", line width, and direction listed below.

Track Manager 6

"Lat, lon" is the coordinates of your desired Finish Line / Sector Line mid point . • "Width" is the total length of this Line. • "Direction" is the direction your will be traveling in while you are on the track.•

First we need to set the coordinates of the mid point of this line. If you do not have the coordinates, the easiest way is to find them on Google Earth and then copy them back to Track Manager.

Using Google Earth to Find the coordinatesPlease launch Google Earth. Enter the name or address of the Track you are looking for in the Search box. Here we entered "Miller Motorsports Park".

If you would like to use the official Start/Finish of this track, look for a white line on the course. It is usually on the Straight near the pit.

Track Manager 7

There are two ways to get the coordinates of the Line mid point on Google Earth. The first one is to move the cursor to this location directly. Its coordinates will be shown at the bottom of the Google Earth window. Write down the coordinates.

Or you can click on the "Add Placemark" icon on the top tool bar, and move the pin icon to the mid point of this Line. The coordinates of the pin tip will be displayed on the "Google Earth - New Placemark" dialog. Copy the coordinates.

After getting the coordinates, you can either paste them together back to Track Manager, or enter them manually. To paste the coordinates, right click on "lat, lon =" to open the menu, and click on "Paste GPS position from Clipboard". The coordinates will be filled in automatically.

To enter them manually, right click on "lat, lon =" to open the menu, click on "Enter GPS coordinates", and enter them manually in the dialog boxes.

Adjusting Line WidthThe Line width is 60M by default. You can switch it to 100M or vice versa. To make the change, right click on "width" to open the menu, and click on a value you prefer.

Adjusting the Traveling DirectionKeep both Track Manager and Google Earth visible on the screen. Make sure you can see your desired Line location and part of the course on Google Earth, and the North of the compass is pointing to the top.

At Track Manager, drag the bar handle below the square window till the arrow is parallel to the course and is pointing to the direction you are to travel in. Also check whether you will be going clockwise or counterclockwise beforehand. If set wrong, when you ride through it, GMOS will view the crossing as invalid and will not produce lap / sector times.
