INTRODUCTION
1. Introduc tion
Thank you for purchasing our reversible heat pump water heater for your
Swimming Pool/Pond. Our heat pump was produced in accordance with the
current European Standard and it is now ready to be used. Please read this
manual carefully before install the heat pump, otherwise it may lead to damage
to the heat pump or may injure operators as well as cause financial loss.
The heat pump should be installed by a professionals or qualified technicians.
1.1 Heat Pump Technology
Heat pumps utilize the sun's free heat by collecting and absorbing energy
from the outside air. This energy is then compressed and transferred to the
pool/pond water. Your existing water pump circulates the water through the
heater, usually next to the pool equipment, and the water warms up.
The unit contains a fan that draws in outside air and directs it over the
surface of the EVAPORATOR (energy collector). The liquid refrigerant within
the EVAPORATOR coil absorbs the heat from the outside air becomes a
gas.
The warm gas in the coil passes through the COMPRESSOR concentrating
and increasing the heat to form a very hot gas which then passes to the
CONDENSER (water heat exchanger). It is here that the heat exchange
occurs as the hot gas gives off heat to the cool swimming pool water
circulating through the coil. The pool water becomes warmer, and the hot
gas cooling as it flows through the CONDENSER coil returns to its liquid
form and, after passing on through the CAPILLARY TUBE the whole process
begins again.

The state of the heat pump technology can efficiently collect heat from the
SAFETY PRECAUTIONSoutside air down to the 7 to 10 range. For tropic and subtropical climates,
this means that the pool can be maintained at 26 to 32 .
1.2 Heat Pump Features
High Efficiency
With a COP value up to 6.0 our heat pumps are very efficient when transferring
heat from the air to the swimming pool water. With the DC Inverter technology
and heat pump technology, you can save as much as 80% of cost compared toan electrical heater.
Long Life-Span
The heat exchanger is made of PVC & Titanium tube, which can withstand and
prolong exposure to swimming pool/pond water
Easy Control and Operation
The unit is very easy to operate: simply switch it on and set the desired pool
water temperature.
The system includes a micro-computer controller, allowing all operation
parameters to be set. Operation status can be displayed on the controller with
LCD display.

2) Connecting the heat pump to a ground wire is necessary, in order to
prevent electrical shock caused by an unexpected short circuit inside unit.3) Please install electrical protection devices according to local regulations.
4) The unit must be installed on reliable base or supporting framework.
5) If the unit is to be installed on the floor, its base or supporting framework
should be heightened, to avoid ingression of accumulated water in rainy
season. In snowy areas, it is important to prevent accumulated snow from
blocking up the air-out. The recommended height is 20cm to 30cm.
6) Install the drainage pipe before fix the heat pump to the ground. There are
two drainage hole on the heat pump base, which could be connected to
the drainage pipe with a pipe arches which contains in spareparts.
7) Drain ditch or other facilities should be arranged under the heat pump, toavoid the environment influence because of water discharge.
8) Ensure the unit is well ventilated, direction of air exhaust is kept away
from windows of neighboring buildings, and the exhaust air cannot flow
back.
Moreover, adequate service clearance should be kept around the unit.
9) DO NOT put fingers or sticks into the ventilative fan.
10)The unit should not be installed at places accompanied with oil,
inflammable gas, corrosive components e.g. sulfur compound, or
high-frequency equipment.11) The heat pump is usually placed next to a house, which gives a directed
sound distribution that should be considered, so it should take proper
action to reduce the noise impact.
12) Cut off the power supply before maintaining the unit, and the maintenance
work should be carried out by professional.
13) If any abnormity occurs in the heat pump, such as abnormal noise or
burned smell, cut off the power supply immediately, and contact
professionals for check and repair.
14) Clean the heat pump with follow instructions:
Before cleaning, cut off power supply firstly to avoid potential danger.Don't rinse the unit by water because it may lead to electric shock.

INSTALLATION
3.4 Location of the Heat Pump
The unit will perform well on any location provided three factors are present:
Fresh air - Electricity - Pool fi lter piping
The unit may be installed virtually anywhere outdoors providing minimum
distance requirements are met with respect to other objects (see diagram
below).
For indoor pools please consult your installer.
If the unit is placed in a windy area, no problems occur with e.g. the pilot light,
as opposed to what is often the case with gas heaters.
At tent io n: Do not place the unit in an enclosed area with a limited air volumewhere the unit's discharged air will be re-circulatedor near shrubs that could
block the air inlet. These locations deny the unit a continuous fresh air supply,
which reduces its efficiency and may prevent adequate heat yield.
See diagram below for minimum required

INSTALLATION3.5 Pool/Pond Connection Diagram
(Just for reference, can adapt according to reality.)
3.6 Electric Hook-Up
Although the heat pump is electrically isolated from the rest of the unit, this only prevents
the passage of electricity to or from the pool/pond water. Grounding the unit is still
required to protect yourself from short circuits inside the unit. Make for adequate groundconnection.Check if the electrical mains voltage corresponds with the operating voltage of
the heat pump prior to hooking up the unit.
It is recommended to use a separate fuse(slow type-D-curve) and adequate wiring.
Connect the electrical wires with the terminal block labeled AC220V~3N/60HZ. Above this
connection, there is another terminal block labeled Water Pump, to which the filter pump
(max.12A/220V, three phase)can be connected. This is connection makes it possible to
control filter pump operation with the heat pump.

Note:
1. Customer could choose to use the Gang Switch and Electrical Heating. If not
needed, just leave it free without connecting.
2. For Interlock Switch, please make sure it is connected, otherwise the compressor
will not start. (Before leaving our factory, we have short connected it. Leave it like
this if you do not need to use it.)
3. If need electrical heating, and with power larger than 1KW, please do not connect
the electrical heating directly to PCB controller, but should be controlled by a A.C.
contactor.
INSTALLATION3.7 Condensatio n
When the swimming pool water is being heated by the heat pump, the
incoming air is cooled down quite a bit, which can cause condensation on thefins of the evaporator. Condensed volumes can attain several liters per hour
under high atmospheric humidity. Sometimes, this is wrongfully interpreted as
a water leak.
3.8 First Time Start-Up
When all connections have been made and checked, you should follow these
steps:
1)Turn on the filter pump. Check for leaks and verify flow to and from the pool
2)Turn on the electrical power supply to the uni, then press the ON/OFF key on
the electronic control panel. The unit should start when the time delay periodhas lapsed
3)When the unit has been running for a couple of minutes, check if the air
leaving the unit is cooler.
4)Check the performance of the flow switch as follows: with the unit running,
turn the filter pump off. The unit should also switch off automatically. If not, the
flow switch must be readjusted.
5)All the unit and filter pump to run 24 hours a day until the desired pool water
temperature is reached. When the set temperature is reached, the unit
switches itself off. The unit will now automatically restart as long as your filterpump is running) when the temperature of the pool water experiences a drop
of more than 1C below the set temperature.

MAINTENANCE & INSPECTION
5. Maintenance and inspection
5.1. The preparation work before the test running
(1) Heat pump hot water units inspection:
Check whether the appearance of units or the machine pipeline system is
damaged during transporting.
Check whether there is air in the water pipe, if any, should emitting it using
the exhaust valve in the units or on the pump.
Check whether the fan blades interfere to the its fixed plate or its protecting
network.
(2) Checking Distribution System
Check whether the power supply complies with the manual or the unit
nameplate required.
Check whether all the power and control circuits connect absolutely; the
wires connects correctly according to the diagram; and whether ground
connection reliable, or all terminals solid.
(3) Checking piping system
Checking whether the piping system, filling pipes, backwater pipespressure
gauge, thermograph, valves, level switches and other equipment is installed
correctly.
Checking whether the valves needed opening are open and those needed
closed close.
Checking piping system for keeping warm is good.

MAINTENANCE & INSPECTION5.2. Testing running
Units test must be professional to operate.
Conduct the overall testing running, until a comprehensive inspection in
entire system meeting the requirements,
With the power on and start the heat pump, the main machine starts 3
minutes later. For the three-phase power supply units, checking whether the
fan and the pump install correctly.
Checking whether the unit meets the requirements, if does ,it can be put into
normal use after running for a time (usually 1 day) after having been put into
normal use.
5.3. Maintenance
The heat pump is a more automatic equipment needing inspection
regularly. If the maintenance is long-term and effective, the operation
reliability and the service life will have an unexpected increase.
Maintenance must be operated by qualified persons.
1. Clearn the water filter regularly to ensure the pure water and avoiding the
damage caused by its blocking. Do not use the equipment to heat highhardness groundwater, spring water, reservoir water, sea water ect.,
otherwise it will influence the unit heat transfer effect and damage the heat
exchanger and compressor.
2. No adjusting any security protection setting on your own, for that has
completed before leaving the factory.
3. Always check whether the power unit and electrical system wiring is solid,
and there are abnormal movements between electrical components. If does,
carry out timely maintenance and replacement.
4. Always check whether the water supply o f water, the tank valve, liquid level
controllers and exhaust device are working properly, so as to avoid causing air
into the system reduced the water cycle to affecting the heat capacity of units
and the reliability of its running.
5. Check whether the water pump and water valve are working properly, check
whether the water pipeline or pipe fittings have the problem of leakage.
6. Keep units in the clean, dry and well-ventilated environment, also regularly
clean (1-2 months) the fin evaporator with clean water, to keep good heat
absorption, turn the power off when cleaning.

23
MAINTENANCE & INSPECTION7. Checking whether the components of units working properly, pneumatic pipe
fittings existing oil, and refrigerant leaking more often.
8. Do not randomly connect or dismantle the equipment.
9. Do not access the return air and exhaust place of equipment by hand or foreign body.
10. Letting go the water, cutting off the power and setting a good protective
cover, if the downtime is longer. A comprehensive inspection is necessary to
conduct the units again.
11. Please connecting with the local special maintenance department of our
company for the repairs in time if you have no ways to the failures.
12. The condenser cleaning
Starting the circulating pump of units to clean the condenser for 3 hours by
the hot phosphoric acid of 50 to 60 , whose concentration is 15%, and
finally washing it 3 times with tap water. (Pipe installation proposes to set
aside 3 interfaces, with the wire plug to seal an interface, to prepare to take
over cleaning). No using corrosive fluid to clean the condenser.
13. Clearing the tank after a period of time (typically for two months, according
to the local water quality) for removing the water scale.
5.4. Common Faults and debugging
