They are very useful in visual comparisons ofdata to help choose the optimal solution oridentify areas of improvement.

• In this example we will create a 1-10scale to rate each aspect of thecomputer
• We will assume that the on the scalethat – 80 GB hard drive is a 10 – a 20 GB is a 1
– 3.6 MHz processor is a 10 – a 1.6 MHz is a 1
– 1024 MB Ram is a 10 – a 128 MB is 1
– DVD is a 10 - no CD/DVD is a 0
